How to Play Music through your Microphone! (VoiceMod and Virtual DJ Method)

Hello, everyone, feel free to install the compatible software for your PC and follow the on screen instructions that's given in the video and or the program.

==Tutorial==
So, in order for this too work!
You will need to download and install VoiceMod Voice Changer as well as restarting your computer after this process so that way you utilize it's drivers to run it properly.
Once that's been done, go in to your windows sound settings or sound control panel and make sure to select the VoiceMod Audio Driver as its Default Record Device!
Once that's been set, open up the VoiceMod App and click on the Gear or Settings button, and go into the Input Devices and select your Genuine Microphone that your using to talk to people with on your PC.
Once thats been set go ahead and select your Default Audio Device, aka the headset or speakers that you're listening with right now! lol
Anywho, at this point you would need to find some sounds samples to go ahead and MEME it up! to your friends or family in a Live Party or so and google is your bestfriend for that kind of thing and or feel free to go into the Voices Select and tinker around or experiment the voices in the list of voices that you may have and just mess around a bit, adjust whats needed who knows you might just sound like an anime or cartoon character! Be Creative!
======= VOICEMOD AND VIRTUAL DJ TUTORIAL===
Step 1.)
I then for this method download and install Virtual DJ
as i have a Mixtrack Dj Controller and or if i want to use the software just to play any Video with Sound or Music and or Troll Sounds and ETC

and i set the AUDIO Configuration in the settings just like this
AUDIO - OUTPUT SPEAKER+ HEADPHONE
CARD - TWO SOUNDCARDS
INPUT _ NONE
-- Bottom part Outputs
Master as Voice Mod Virtual Audio Device WDM WASAPAI as Chan 1&2 (as shown in the video)
Headphones - as Razer Nari Ultimate - Game WASAPI as chan 1 & 2
(as shown in the video)
I click apply and okay .
I make sure that the songs GAIN is set to Negative 15 or 20 DB or -15 or -25
and well.... I am now able toooooooo
Step 5.) Play ANY Loud Song or any songs or music into the Deck A or B channels or turntable and go back into discord and enjoy the spamming!

how do you get the option of 2 soundcards on the VirutalDJ settings?
What i ended up doing throught virtual Dj settings was that i had selected the plus button and it automatically switched to the photon fader option and thus i was able to select my default audio playback device which was my headphones and of course add the additional playback device a.k.a voicemod , as thats acting as the extra virtual audio cable/playback device and that's how i was able to set it up with of course 48khz set to stereo mode.

Hi! i believe this still works to this day!
I ended up adding virual dj an additional microphone or the same in the tutorial.labeled VOICE MOD WDM microphone and set that as the master headphones, and my headset to another master channel so i could actually listen to whats bein playedd as well i usually leave the gain to a minimum aswell since it likes to autogain the music and its too loud for some users!

Hi , i apologize that you're having issues could you be more specific as to why it's not working? Have you followed through the instructions to enable a master and headphone output?? as described?
How do I set the thing to 44, It just says 48
In order to set your frequency to 44khz you would go to your windows sound settings and right click the "VoiceMod Virtual Audio Device WDM Microphone " and select properties followed by Advanced options and selecting the desired bitrate

I had been favoring the older version just due to the fact that its what i'm used to and what is more compatible with my old dj hardware called the "MixTrack Dj Controller", its not even the pro version of Mixtrack and thats for how old this hardware is lol but all for the shish and giggles. i hope this could help you and others out too!

Is there a way to turn down the audio on my side? its very loud
adjusting the gain knob should allow you to bring down the volume on the track. -10db is what i usually go for since its loud for me and the user im basting it too. The master volume or master slider works aswell! by scrolling it down
i dont have the two sound card but it said USB soundcard on there
I'm not quite sure how i could help with that , as for my main setup without the the Mic
also i am using virtual dj version - v8.5-65 b6418

I selected Master ( MY Headphones ) chan 1 &2 @ 48khz
== BUT IF i switch or click the plus button to add another master ==
it then switches automatically to USB Soundcard under Hardware and then i am able to choose another master channel ... a.k.a for this Voice Mod (my microphone) to play music feedback but also the same channels 1 & 2 with the same rate as my headphones at 48khz ( as if im monitoring it like my interface ) and it just works for me..
i also am using a USB soundcard instead of the on board motherboard audio if that makes any sense as well, sincei'm using the Uphoria UM2 audio interface in order to make this happen and made sure that voicemod has chosen my default speakers and microphone for this on that specific interface as the main source.. otherwise i wouldn't be able to hear anything or it won't be able to pick up any audio at all if its not the default source.

so feel feel to try that out but if that doesn't work , your best bet is to looking into your windows audio settings to enabling a different source. enabling you to select the option to set a default audio device, assuming that maybe windows or VIRUTAL DJ isn't seeing that you do or don't have a usb audio interface enabled or turned on... I hope that makes sense
this was just easier for me instead of figuring out voicemeeter bananas audio configuration but thats also another complicated method, that could work for you.

can this be used for spotify as well? like plying music through your mic through spotify?
unfortunately, it doesn't work through spotify alone, since I don't think spotify has a way to customize the audio routing the way, Virtual DJ, is able to hand this....Which also means theirs no way to set a specific playback device unless Spotify or any other app has a similar implementation in some way, so that way myself or yourself could just achieve the same effect. Best of luck for you! in finding another program that can reroute all the audio or downloading music that you have rights for and utilizing that through the software!!
Although Voice mod already has something in the works for BUILTIN music and fx to be played through their soundboard besides their real time voice customization with their software but that's all i could suggest.
but how the hell do you get the voicemod virtual audio device??
IN short, i had downloaded VoiceMod which is the voice changer im using for this video, From VOICEMOD VOICE CHANGERS website.... the installer had prompted to restart my computer for said new audio device which is common for such software and that is what i had done.....that had ended up installing what is called a VIRTUAL AUDIO CABLE, that is also known as (VoiceMod Virtual Audio Device) in this video..its Very confusing...BUT for what im thinking, THAT IS VoiceMods own way of saying or relabeling... the same concept of said ,virtual audio cable...that was needed for this to be done..
=-=THATS HOW I GOT the Audio Driver. And this was something i had previously installed for another video...and didnt quite mention it completely BUT BESIDES THAT... i have the PRO version of this software... I DONT think you need the PRO version ... in order to get this audio device driver to make this work BUT with that being said THAT IS HOW... this enables me to play sounds/music/etc but its only a small portion of what needs to be done, in order to make this work compeltey.. especially without using a streamdeck, or owning the pro version of voicemod or SOUNDPAD... which is another software alike for said... virtual soundboard...or other software alike that is capable of doing so, with that intention... which is ENTIRELY OPTIONAL too.

but same concept with VOICEMODS own software...because with such virtual audio cable, i think ... you can essentially use this software acting like a LINE IN JACK or MICROPHONE and would be able to utilize your genuine microphone... WHILE OUTPUTTING a sound from the said programs device driver as such chaining that to VIRTUAL DJ.. or SAID AUDIO PROGRAM .. that CAN utilize and recognize (VoiceMod Virtual Audio Device) as AN OUTPUT altogether.....even though its an INPUT?? its weird...
=but that is what im assuming what you're looking for. and as such with this response...i hope this makes sense and essentially allows you to play any ..said song or sound through the Virtual Audio Device from VOICEMOD... WIth Said DJ program as mentioned earlier VIRTUAL DJ or said, Other Media Player , as such...but as long as.. you can set the voicemod as an extra master output device, even though its an Input... oN ANY MEDIA PLAYER i think this can be done seemesly..and with that i think you shall be good to go... even though the purpose of it.. is outputting the audio or song to be played to others is sooo Confusing as a concept too with your microphone using an external source... but i hope that makes much more sense and helps you out!! 🙂
since.. ive downloaded voicemods software, that also allows me to use my microphone, i later on noticed the audio driver acts like a stereo mix or line jack, even though its listed as a microphone. and that is how i was able to get most of this situated! but as long as that, (voicemod audio device) is set as default, and voice mod is open in background, and while also USING a DJ PROGRAM that could also utilize this audio device driver ... LIKE virtual dj open in the background and setting the output on such software in the said audio settings, essentially listening to 2 master output tracks... ...( theoretically chaining the audio devices without creating a looping feedback) thats how i found about this tinkering around and then im hoping it would work out for you too!
and just something i think would help alot of people out there trying to achieve the same thing..
==sidenote , im unaware if it works on vlc mediaplayer but its worth a try? and its alot less confusing then using voicemeeter banana as ive heard. Although! thats the easiest way i could explain it. hope it helps
