That's why the Crowfather says Corruption is so incredibly dangerous. ''Corruption is the end of all things. Even Death...'' And Death killed that thing. It's my fave song in the track. Too bad you can hardly hear it due all the armor The Archon wears, and how noisy his attacks are. I swear you'd hear him in the dark ally before you met him. Course, the song in its entirety is still pretty short, even the alternative version. Nonetheless, it's my fave boss theme.
There's also a lot of moments where Death is about to get hit with something and the cam zooms on his face super fast. Like when the amulet is about to slam into his chest, or right before the archon shoots him of the main platform before the fight. I can't help but madlib an Oh shit in moments like that. Dj C I didn't say it was better its just not as popular. Dark souls is still popular today, don't get me wrong darksiders is a great game i just personally like dark souls more imo.
Samael's fight was definitely the tougher and more intense than the Archon's, but Archon's fight remains f*cking epic. The awesome music, the wide-open sky arena and grand sweeping movements, it's like choreographed badassery that holds up perfectly well compared to Samael's confined arena and almost claustrophobic "always right behind you" intensity. The constant, fittingly badass mad war cries from the Archon also left a better impression than Samael's snickering. Though this one is the easier of the two (and I'm not even taking the final fight into account, it was easier than some non-boss monsters), I definitely like it no less and remember it even more fondly.
The Archon went fúll tilt against Death: his mind addled by Corruption, he was but a brainless brute in the end(He also has that Rod of Arafel, remember? He cleansed all of the City with that staff, THATS how overpowered he became with that Staff and still, compared to the Bossfight? Samael on the other hand was NOT infested with Corruption, on the contrairy, in fact as Samael is the Archon's counterpart: Where the Archon is the Archangel amongst Archangels, Samael is the Archdemon amongst Archdemons! Death killed him while he was off guard, i doubt that death could get him without that, the Rod of arafel kept death away from him in the intire battle, the only way to get the archon is like that. I even think that the archon is stronger than absalom, the archon gave way much difficulty to death.
@@Hikarushinyi I don't think he's coming back, but i do believe that he did not die easily at ALL. Death had a pretty damn hard time killing him. Lemme know If you think that the archon is stronger than absalom
The Destroyer was "chosen above" Samel because Samael posed a MUCH greater threat. Samael didn't obey all the orders of the Dark Prince, and was close in power to him - that's what Vulgrim said in Darksiders 1.
The Archon blocks one attack from Death in Reaper form in this video at about 2:30. If you look at the Archon's hp bar, he loses a tiny bit of life as opposed to completely blocking the attack when Death isn't in Reaper form. The other difference is that if Death continues to attack the Archon in regular form and gets blocked once, subsequent attacks in that attack chain also get blocked. When Death is in Reaper form however, it seems that the Archon reduces the incoming damage of the first attack in the chain but succumbs to the others and stops blocking.

When the Archon said I did what I had to do, you could tell he was a bad guy right there. It's pretty much the calling card excuse for someone who has done or is doing some bad shit, regardless of the reason. Yet so many people in life won't admit a bad choice is a choice all the same and not owning up to it as one's own decision makes you look worse.
Not always. If someone tries to kill let's say my son and I blow his head off and get caught and I say, "I did what I had to do." Don't you think I'm telling the truth and am right? Certainly it would be, "doing what you had to."
This and the final fight are probably my favorite area bosses in the game. The *spoilers* Guardian and Wailing host feel more like Death is slaying monsters than fighting an opponent, and Samael was just playing with Death. This and the Absalom fights feel like an actual clash of wills from two extremely powerful people.
I think Samael is extremely powerful. But Death, with seals broken and with Harvester in hand is extremely powerful as well. It's not stated right in the games because main rule is "you start weak and grow stronger"... but in the novel, you can clearly see how big of a badass Death actually is, wearing off shit that would break apart another horseman like it was a scratch. In a match between Samael and Death, both at full power, I think Death wins, but not by much. Against the four he's screwed
Finally, you're speaking sense and are actually saying something different. 1. I wasn't deflecting any topic because I still went on to explain my reasons on it. 2. He didn't use it because he wanted to land an successful attack. Samael was moving so fast that Death couldn't keep up as much as he wanted to, so he decided not to use Reaper form because it can only be used for an certain amount of time and didn't want to waste it.
So considering all this, one can clearly say that Samael is one of the most powerful beings in the Darksiders universe. He's a threat to Lucifer himself, that's ONE reason (there was another 1) why he was imprisoned and I'd say he's stronger than a horseman. Well maybe not, but he's stronger than Abbadon for sure. He's more powerful than Lilith who made Abbadon go... let's say "crazy". ;) And if Lilith can do that, imagine what Samael can do. He's one of my favourite characters in Darksiders 1+2
I have the Deathinitive edition of this game, and for a while it would show the same things in the pool as vanilla. But after some update, all it shows in the pool is the map in each scene. It's a little disheartening.
Yeah but they are meant to operate as one unit (all four together). That's the perfect combination for ultimate havoc (they are not good guys - well in Darksiders they KIND OF are,but not 100%). Samael even says in DrS1: "War, have you come to play executioner? They should have sent all four of you!" And in DrS2: "So, the council sends only one horseman... even to the past!" This implies too that Samael is extremely powerful. It's also said that he's a threat to Lucifer - the demon king himself.
I had to come back and watch this. I'm playing dark siders 3 and I missed feeling like a bad ass. I might as well just play these videos in the background while I'm playing it. (After playing war and death you want Fury to be an absolute monster, hence the name fury....sadly gameplay wise she has a whip and none of her hits look like it hurt. Death finishes every boss by shredding it to bits, fury finishes them by sealing them away.)
You don't know whether or not he went into the reaper form. He could've gone into reaper form in the middle of the fight, and also Samael was just playing with Death, to see how strong he was. P.S Death did use his reaper form on Absalon.
1.Lol, "Didn't want to waste his time"? This was over the course of one hundred years, time was all he had! Samael attacked Death, yet he still gave the choice to him, Death wouldn't have did that for ANYONE else besides his brothers. 2. They had to take away his powers by force, and you don't know whether or not it was easy, also that was Sameal's true power and not something that's been borrowed from other entities. I know my lore and i've just proved that.
We don't know who stripped Samael of power; it may very well have been Abaddon after he started channeling power from the Well of Souls. Before War cut him off from the Well, he may have been more powerful than Samael. I doubt the developers would have had Lilith make such a blatant remark about Samael's power being the greatest of all demons if they meant for it to be left to interpretation. Not to mention all the other comments in DS1 and the Darksiders comic concerning Samael's power.
I honestly thank you so much for agreeing. Sorry for the insults I gave earlier, they were probably coming from bad feelings from.... other things.... I'm glad this didn't end on a bad mark so.. yeah!:)
Samael wasn't outmatched because he wasn't trying. He was just playing around, not being serious and just using Teleport and fireballs. He wasn't using all of his power and only stopped when he was cut, ONCE. Death wasn't a shadow of his former self. That was Death at full power without the seals, with the seals Death and the rest are more powerful, but that was him when he was without the seals. Death was at full power and could still only scratch Sameal, who was just playing around.
Samael and Satan are said to be very close in power. Lilith even said that "no demon in any realm can match [the raw power of] Samael." As far as Death, Samael, and War are concerned; Death has always been stronger than War, but War was stripped of most of his power and had to get back to 100% in DS1, whereas Death started off with no handicap. Thus, Death ended up being far more powerful respectively than War. So, while War couldn't even fight Samael, Death might have been able to beat him.
If that were true, then Straga would've also been punished. I see where you're coming from, but I still think what I say is true too. How about this then, we agree that Samael and Death have equal strength and that neither could beat the prince of lies. Death was not outmatching Samael (thus saying Death is ridiculously more powerful than anyone and anything), but keeping up with him and matching his moves.
1.True 2.Lilith is not powerful in terms of strength, rather in hierarchy. The only real power she's ever wielded was when she created the Nephilim and time travel which she probably got from Samael. Niether do you so we are both in a stand still in that regard.
Dude, the Horsemen weren't born with the Council's power so that's why their at normal power status without the council's power. No fear? Is that why Death gave Sameal the choice, even already knowing he wanted a fight? Death knew it wouldn't be an easy fight, and that's why he was so hesitant. Full power is not normal power!-_- If that was true everyone would have their muscles bulked up at all times. P.S I know all of the Darksiders lore so I don't need to be told it.
Juan Jose Guevara Ortiz i know this was 7 months ago so I'm sorry, but, Samael stopped because Death was beginning to predict him. Remember at the end of the fight, death gave Samael a sharp cut on the cheek because he predicted where Samael was gonna teleport. In truth, he thought the fight with Death and his brother, Absalom(sorry if i messed it up) would be entertaining. Again, sorry for this sudden reply.

DeusExMachina10001 i
DeusExMachina10001 isnt lucifer the greatest ? The one who punish lilith in the end cutscene
Actually, none of the horsemen had their full power due to the charred counsil not granting them any for the apocalypse.
even the purest can be corrupted.
Epic Game ! ! !
Archon holds the angel key, Samael holds the demon key. Who would win between Samael and Archon?
The combat in the game is so satisfying, more so than bayonetta and devil may cry, plus death is fucking awesome I love his character.
this is how you took a key
The Archon is very cool
Glory unto the lights chosen!
Perhaps for a self-righteous, kleptomaniac asshole and traitor to his own people, but I wouldn't know.
DEATH:The REAPER
This boss should’ve been harder then samual this is a angel
We don't know whether or not Micheal is in their story.-_-
nice moves :]
is it me, or does the framerate increase during this fight? I play on 360
it does
hmm, I found it strange that it does it only during this fight
Because there's no environment to draw in the background.
angels and demons are real
no shit.
Tenisista kiuldjiiski no shit dilweed
Please tell me that this is not some profound revelation u just discovered from only playing this game...
but arent the horsemen invincible when they have been called by the seals? if so, that would mean one horsemen COULD defeat samael
no dramatic end?
Kaz Miller is that you
3:57 Archon got bodied.
Is there going to be a new DLC with Death killing The Destroyer?
No
Archon: THE LIGHT COMPELS YOU!
Death: I am Darkness - I am DEATH!
Life and light vs death and darkness.sounds cool
MJk Slasher But sometimes, the hero dies in the end
Chicken Mike he thinks he is performing a exorcism
Chicken Mike the darkness should be the keeper of the oblivion not death if you read the lore
Archon: THE LIGHT COMPELS YOU!
Death: I am Fire - I am... DEATH!
I'm saving that no
dam nice. i seen this part on the ign gameplay an he almost died like 5 times an barley won. an took twiccec as long lol
1.True
2.Lilith is not powerful in terms of strength, rather in hierarchy.
Full power is not normal power!-_-
If that was true everyone would have their muscles bulked up at all times.
P.S I know all of the Darksiders lore so I don't need to be told it.
Damn that was awsome I am struggling to defeat this guy XD
3:58
Qual é a melhor forma de ganha xp?
Since the archon holds the angel key and samael holds the demon key who would win Ina fight the archon or samael
Otis Deepthroatis well archon got killed by death, samael played with him for a little, got bored and then gave him the key... do I need to answer?
Death fought Samuel and archon and could kill them both with his eyes closed.
Angels usually are much more powerful then demons
Are they the Scythes you get at the start of the game?
Nope that's Guillotine, the best scythes in the game.
+OcularCentaur42 How can I obtain Guillotine?
harad552 I don't remember.
GOD GAME!!!
darksiders story is fucking awesome, better than some craps that appear in the world.
Apocaliptic? pfft, come back when you defeat him on nightmare.
+MegaGothmog actualy Nightmare is more easy because you already got crafted gear
