  • It was dress like a student today, and students dressed like teachers. My students asked me if I knew any of their slang words, so they enlightened me about their generation. Enjoy

    Thank you for continuing to teach on your off hours ma'am, our son is 16 he's a sophomore, he's neuro spicy and soooooo I'd like to think we'll still get a little something from this 😂 I'm going to strategically drop these words at random times and see how long it takes 😭

      @@5iveshot170 it’s about being an alpha male. They all think they are but in reality most are not and are just being sheep following. I think it started on TikTok. It is very annoying and juvenile.

    Alpha, beta and sigma call come from psychology work done decades ago. It's been mostly debunked at this point.

      Yep, they are big buzzwords in the "manosphere" and a lot of people use them to define their current personality or traits that they aspire to.

    As a 9th grade this is pretty accurate, but sigma in slang means pretty much the same thing as alpha

    Alpha doesn't mean leader. It is more like a top dog, and it's more used as terminology in reference to sexual gating. Same with Sigma.

      Yeah, I had a feeling there was more to these words. Nearly every slang word is inappropriate in Jr High/Middle School. It's why they come into my room, yell it, and burst into uncontrollable laughter.

    • @WitchOracle
      @WitchOracle 23 дня назад

      @@judipierry549 alphas might be leaders in some things, but I don't think many leadership traits are associated with the word alpha. I think "top dog" communicates the connotation a little better even if leader is technically also a synonym

    A Sigma doesn’t care how others perceive him, he’s confident in himself and doesn’t need outside validation. I feel like the majority of adults know this, because it’s a word that actual grown up have used for decades 🤷‍♀️
