The amazing thing about him is that he’s cool like this, but he’s also hilarious (some of his TikToks make me laugh out loud) AND he shares reasonable, achievable teaching strategies. I always stop to watch when I’m scrolling!

That is NOT what a pick me girl is. A pick me girl is a woman who goes out of their way to pursue male attention and validation, especially at the expense of other women. The ones who say things like "I'm not like the other girls, etc."

@@indigonai1565This made me totally curious, cuz I feel like it's been around longer than most people think. It just hasn't been popular slang. I'm finding enough consistent information to believe the sources that say it came from the TV show Grey's Anatomy in 2005.
So weird that some passing moment in a show 20 years ago is the basis for a popular phrase in kid culture today.

Why are they acting so out of touch? From what I know, these terms are more or less common sense for any generation after boomers. There's no need to act older than you are, especially these days. I'd say they're pandering to soccer moms but it's 2024, even soccer moms are online enough to know basic slang... Maybe I'm missing something. All I know is I'm already 33 but Gen Z/alpha slang is still common sense to me.
