All Hail Lumon! and All Hail Waystar Royco!! Music : Succession Intro Theme by Nicholas Britell #severance #succession #successionhbo #appletvplus #appletv #hbo
@@Pumpkinking64 Severence is about the plight of the workers and employees in the modern corporate world, it is almost dystopian in this sense and could be compared with say Orwell's 1984 about the absurdity with the way the norms are structured and work is organised. Succession on the other hand, shows the plight (though, many would disagree with this) of the people who run these huge corporations where employees are exploited. It humanises the people who could be considered tyrants and oppressors. It shows that even though they are rich and powerful, they are not in any way free from this vicious trap of capitalism and mundane work. The theme that is common in both shows though and what makes them complimentary is the idea of the MEANINGLESSNESS of what people do. The sheer non sense that they act out to earn money and stay in power is haunting (Severence), comedic and tragic (Succession) at the same time. For instance, The routine work of removing digits into dustbins in Severence is similar to the dialogue of Roman at the end: "It's all bullshit. We're all bullshit. It's fucking nothing."
@hitarthjoshi3198 I agree with everything you said. However, I still do not think these shows fit together well or are similar in tone at all. They just have similar subject matter. It would be like comparing King Lear to 1984. You could find similar themes, sure. But in my mind they are entirely different animals
Never watched "Severance" and noticed that Ben Stiller is the producer. Considering that Will Ferrell is a producer for Succession, kinda shows that these comedy actors are really cranking out the good stuff.
I may be pulling this out of my ass, but a lot of actors and writers claim that good comedy is harder to wrap your mind around than good drama. Probably not by much, but still harder. So it makes sense that after years of racking your brain coming up with comedy, dramatic writing will come easy to them.
I would never have guessed that my two favorite shows nowadays would be in these environments. Writers, producers, keep up the good shit and don't be afraid to surprise.
You'll realise how minutely detailed this is, when u'll notice the credits are arranged based on their titles, and that too alphabetically... just like succession
this is fantastic!! the succession intro isn't just about its style and music but also what kind of imagery and themes are displayed. your use of lumon's unique architecture and the corporate titans of this alternate universe blends the shows wonderfully.
Two masterpieces combined. Well done. Wonder how it’d be like if the cast for the 2 series was switched, mark for kendall, helly for shiv, irving for connor, and dylan for roman lol
Probably would have made more sense to have those scenes from Lumen with the innies be the modern footage and those from the rest of the world beyond with the outies being the old home-recorded style footage, or the other way around, as more of a way of defining things.
ooh fun :) nicely edited too! It really looks like the intro (interesting to see the same lavish look at the buildings that's in the Succession intro but with all these bland hallways)
That was amazing, but both shows doesnt rlly match, u know? Like, in severance doesnt have that feeling of a big enormous thing like in succession does, severance is a kind of suspense/horror. The part that rlly matched is when shows something big of the show like the company bulding, the owner statue, but the character? Doesnt rlly matches with the succession theme.
Succession is about the people on top. Severance is about the people on bottom.
I really do just love the rise of corporate horror and corporate drama 😌 it's time we all realize the real enemy is the workplace
cringe
🤓
The enemy is not the workplace but rather work and capitalisme in it's ensemble
@@michaelkeaton5394 i am 14 and this is deep🥺
yeah but the gimmick is that all these shows are created by giant corporations lol
like Apple is literally a Lumon
These two shows just go together so perfectly
How so? They're very, very different in my eyes

Totally! Comedy actors like Bill Hader, John Krasinski, Peele have literally been making outstanding TV shows and movies recently
Not just a producer, but a director as well if I'm not mistaken.

Watch barry, tops em both
@@thevikingsock8527slow down I’m halfway through season 2 but idk if it tops severance season 1 so far, let alone succession

The severance theme song is already good but this is actually an amazing edit. Fits perfectly with Severance's weird vibe.
This made me watch succession. Its so good
Fucking superbly done, you even had the credits in alphabetical order like Succession does. And that newscast shot looks just like ATN.
Even severance intro Kinda reminded me of succession not similar just reminds me of succession and both are so amazing in their own way
This is pure perfection.

absolute masterclass in editing.
Seeing this I'm smiling like Kendal Roy 🔥
This is really amazing! I always found the melodies of both intros to be very similar even though the rest of the elements are not very similar.
Who are you? beginning ❤. Sometimes feels like to forget it all ans start new.
after watching every mashup of this style of intro THIS IS THE ONE TAKES THE CROWN.
SO GOOOOD
God this is good (and bcs as your icon, trifecta of great taste)
My favorite two shows
01:24
That fact that 2nd guy from right is actually in succession makes this even better....
ah yes the only two things in the entire universe that interest me
My two favorite shows 💞
This is just perfect
Thank you for putting the cast in alphabetical order. It's a detail people often miss when doing those edits and you didn't. Kudos to you!
This is too good please enjoy every reply equally
After seeing Zach Cherry pop up on Succession, my headcanon is that Brian left Waystar Royco to get severed and work for Lumon as Dylan 😁
Succession Main Theme is supreme, I love it.
Now I just wanna re watch both shows
This is so well done
This fits so perfectly. Creates a whole new vibe for this music

So creative! Thank you for doing this! 🤣🤣🤣
The work really is mysterious and important
This is fucking awesome, i loved it
this is too good ohmygod
I watched Succession immediately after Severance. So this video gives me mixed feelings. Miss both of em❤
this shit is the best succession intro edit.

Simply Awesome. Keep it up
