I am once against asking to do a rewind of some sorts for 2009 Cincinnati bearcats, awesome way to end their season and a literal second put back on the clock (in the Texas v Nebraska game) from being in the Natty. Doesn’t get talked about at all how close they were. The program basically was almost squashed in the early 90’s after an embarrassing loss to Penn State. Then they had a meteoric rise to relevance and have been back to it since i.e only G5 school to make the 4 team CFP
I am getting teary-eyed. I remember getting to sit with my family for first time since the Pandemic. We watched the game for a brief moment everything felt a little normal.
During the review I had convinced myself it would be overturned. Not because I thought it was short, but solely because good things dont happen to IU football. When the call stood it was one of the most joyous feelings of relief in my life. Will never forget it.
This game went nuts, as an IU student they had us locked inside our on campus apartments that year, when we won everyone went nuts around campus. Penix single handedly gave life to our football team. Magical couple of years.
2020s IU was probably their best team in at least two generations and it's a shame the Big Ten didn't allow them to go to the conference championship that year. I was pulling for the Hoosiers that year. I root for one of Indianas rivals, Michigan State. I've always found our rivalry to be rather unique, as I don't see hatred or vitriol between the two schools/fanbases. Indiana has some classy fans.

This was such an insane game. the total was 61 or 62 and the Over was completely dead. Needed about 10 different things to happen which did in that 4th Q and OT. Insane win backing the over.
To comment on how miserable IU Football was: I was a freshman attending IU in 2014. We upset #18 seeded Missouri ON the road in Week 3 and i was thinking B-Town was going to be popping that night after a HUGE win. Going around campus and onto Kirkwood Ave, there was almost no fanfare regarding the upset and at that moment, i finally realized that IU was solely a basketball town and our football program was basically treated like a D-2 program I attended all 6 home games that year, our biggest attended game was homecoming against a great Michigan State team and the staidum wasn't even 3/4s of the way full Its sad to think with the 'recent success' (4 bowl game appearances in the last 10 years), we havent won a bowl game since the 1991 Copper Bowl
Soccer (the "other" football) is IU's best sport. Eight national titles (second overall behind Saint Louis), runner up three times in the last seven years, twenty-two Final Fours (most all-time in D-1), and 36 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. That's the "football" to focus on for Hoosiers fans. Swimming is usually good, too.

I neglected to mention on the post the week before IU upset Missouri, they had lost to a MAC team in Bowling Green, but the Falcons were red hot during that timeframe. Just one of the many inexcusable losses for this Penn State program under Franklin. There have been far, far too many of these over the years. That season wasn’t the best, but this loss pretty much spiraled our season out of control.
Not just a great video but a phenomenal one, just forgot one thing. Other than Tom Allen, who in the hell would think this coaching staff would be the ones who end up replacing for Nick Saban and Alabama.
