"It's our sweat and blood that'll make it happen. After everything we've been through, past all the fire and fury... the one thing I know - is that we can count on each other to get the job done. Or die trying, if that's what it takes. because some things are just worth fighting for."
Arms to teeth and hearts of steel, With guns in blazing and bullets of reel. The raging fields of heat and smoke, Would blind the soul and shut such joke. Through the battle where death may linger, Its silent quick that ends such evil. To reigning days and fallen years, That marked the stain of your tears.
"Leave no one behind, dead or alive. Sweep every corner of every street. This must be a ghost zone by the time we leave." "We'll take care of that, capt'n !"
If by helping somebody else it benefits you, it is for your own good. If YOU are the one that decides to help someone, then that's fine, the problem comes when you are forced to help.

This isn't to say that people are unable to work together or should avoid collective efforts like the plague, but the decision to work together must be made on the conscious an reasonable choice of all involved rather than through compulsion or the expectation that the other members of the group are 'entitled' to the work of others.
The basic principle of Objectivism and interaction with others is not apathy towards the suffering of others, but rather neutrality towards others with the expectation that they will remain neutral towards you. The to expect and feel entitled to the help of others is to live out of accordance with reality and therefor damn yourself to the servitude of others
While it is true that a group working together is more powerful than its separate parts, Objectivism recognizes that any compulsion mandating people work together will always fail. We are human beings, and our ability to survive comes not from claws or wings, but rather our ability to think a reason, thus adapting. A derivative of this ability to reason is the need for choice, and to force any person to choose to work together and to care for the wellbeing of others is to go against the mind
I'm not an expert for this, but selfish acts is really the way to make your way up. Why spend energy to help others when it doesn't help you? But in other cases when it would give you an advantage, then helping someone would be better for you. Of course, I like helping people, if they deserve it. It feels great. And if you think about it, almost everything we do, is in some form, for ourselves.
It has no dedicated genre. It's just instrumental, made on certain computer software technology designed for music. The composers however are real and have incredible musical minds
Yeah I know. Just one of my points were that even helping out of good is.. well, for yourself. It doesn't have to be what we consider a selfish act, but for instance charity, gives us a good feeling that we are doing something good. I could say this counts for everything, but it doesn't.. because there are people out there who has actually sacrificed their lives, knowing they will die, for someone else for their best. I believe that is the least selfish someone can get.
"both ways" only applies if physically 'fit(by the definition of being in good shape)' falls under the requirements for survival in the specific environment. The saying was originally intended to describe the process of selective evolution through adaptation, and I can't see exactly where being in good shape comes into the picture. That's just one state of being.
he paraphrased it, it was originally "winners practice until they get it right - champions practice until they can’t get it wrong", but i can't find who said it anywhere
Objectivism itself is only basic human nature, and it must worked with, as it is impossible to change. Caring for others is your decision to make, If you would like to help others give to charity. Ayn Rand portrayed giving to others as a weakness, it is not, but giving by your own decision is a strength.
Meteorite lands, environments change rapidly. Fail to change at the same pace and you die out. Most of them died from the effects after the impact, but not the impact itself. The ones who survived where the ones who were capable of adapting to earth being clouded with dust, inducing the ice age. So unless all the dinosaurs were standing in the same place and all got hit at once, then you have to talk about adaptability.
"Force and mind are opposites; morality ends where a gun begins." If only it were as black and white as that. The message is didactic (the speaker obviously intending to deter people from violence), but in reality, there are groups of people with strong belief systems. So strong that they're willing to do anything to further the goals set by this system. These belief systems are not inherently wrong. However, the existence of such systems is also accompanied by the potential for fierce conflict.
the chances of a bayonet breaking are Zero, unless you are fighting a terminator. It would be more likely that you would lose grip of your combat knife, or rifle, in the event of combat scenario such as you speak of. Once disarmed, one with efficient hand to hand combat training would then proceed to the attempt of disarming their opponent with the training prior to combat(if offered).
Does anyone know the cliff Lin song with vocals from a song lady gaga made? Or any vocals at all? I've been looking for it for a year now and any leads would be great ; ~ ;
When my Old Man was in the US Army they taught the GIs to save one bullet just in case the other guy was better with a bayonet. Which begs the question, what if the other guy has been told to do the same thing? Gotta love the bayonets the People's Liberation Army of Red China use: triangular blades so that the wound won't close..
As such, if an unfortunate event occurs out of random, to avoid hypocrisy, the person following such a philosophy should be denied all forms of aid. This is taking into account things like disease, natural disasters, and other unpredictable uncontrollable events.
But if everyone is altruistic and is in service to eachother, then that means everyone owns everyone, therefore nobody owns anyone since everyone is equally responsible for the wellbeing of everyone else on some level. THats why I feel moral objectivism fails as a philosophy. A single cell on it's own amounts to almost nothing. A colony of cells working in tandem result in a complex multicellular lifeform capable of far, far more than they ever would be individually, as a metaphor.
No, we would not be in the jungle, and no all society is not built upon what other did for "us". Society is built off of the backs of those who gained from their work in a selfish way, was the light bulb invented so you could have light? No, it was invented because the inventor would gain from his work. Did you gain a good thing that accelerated technology an innovation from his selfishness? Yes, and that is why it works.
So I go to RUclips, look up some music to listen to something while I do work, and I see a sweet ass military picture and I click it. So I listen to the song a couple of times and I'm like "hey, this song is good enough to comment on" but when I scroll down I see a bunch of shit about what kills more people and how bad humans are in life. WTF seriously WTF?
Understand what your talking about Objectivism the key is ( rational self-interest), problem people have with it is dosen't take in to acount other peoples happiness, which is basicly if im good screw every on eles.
Which would work great, if humans were solitary animals who didn't socialize or form societies. Fortunately we've got greater goals than our own immediate gratification. At least, they're there ready for the choosing. Failing to see the merit in mutual benefit, national coverage and joint ventures is also why Ayn Rand was not a successful businesswoman, but a spoiled brat with inherited money she didn't know how to manage.
"Persuasion is the method of reason. By its nature, the overtly irrational cannot rely on the use of persuasion and must ultimately resort to force to prevail." However, a rational man adapts himself to his environment, whereas the irrational man adapts the environment to himself. Therefore all progress relies on the irrational man. Rand had an interesting philosophy, but 100k years of humans conditioning themselves into the ultimate killing machines invalidates her philosophy.
Not quite. It's just an entire philosophy based on selfishness. If I'm doing good (Stable finances, etc.) I should focus on prolonging my own well-being instead of helping others to get to the same place as me. In a few words, Screw the poor ( and the other few billion people, too.)

Pure power and energy ! Awesome music.
now that is a badass picture.
OST, epic songs, orchestral, instrumental

Man is never unarmed. Guns were not grown off of trees, they are a creation of man's greatest weapon, the mind.
Wow, so true. I can't remember who this quote is from but I heard it a lot while I was in the Rangers.

Aaaaaand there we go.
Exactly. It's single-cell organisms vs. multicellular-organisms on a philosophical level.

I'm listening to this music while searching for that image... It helps :P

Technically Chris Costa since he was the first to say it in magpul art of dynamic handgun, but the saying is a magpul motto (I think).
"When in doubt, empty the magazine" - USMC proverb
My friend, I was just attempting to continue the tread. I do not know how much strain a bayonet can take, so I just used my imagnation :)
True 'nough. I highly doubt we can guess as to what's better, especially on a youtube channel, but heh.
Good to see different opinions tho!
It's a shame not many people realise it.
Incredible...D: I must tell my 10 000 friends
Yeah.
CO: "Contain the outbreak. Open fire."
Operative: "Sir... It's just women and children... none of them are dead yet?"
CO: "... I know..."
Which we can now manipulate and use for our own means.
Fittest. Fittest will increases chances of survival. Luck has is a factor sure, but luck isn't something you can count on.
GOD DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fair enough.
Why is it on every video I come to watch/listen to there is a huge debate/fight o.O

" Copy that big-pappa we got them on sensors. Opening fire ".
Luck is a variable anomaly. Fitness is a pattern.

I think at least some hand to hand combat training is required in the U.S. army.
What happens when the bayonet breaks? USE FISTS!
Which would work great, if humans were solitary animals who didn't socialize or form societies.

What happens after the magazine is empty? BAYONETS

Because being born in a rich family has nothing to do with luck, right? Your logic is flawed.
Ayn Rand aside, good music.
