This interview alone can be life-changing for so many people.
I’m here taking all the notes.

I wish I could hit the Like button as many times as African Theology got/gets suppressed throughout Christendom.
I ordered my book from Amazon but after watching this video i ready to fly for my book loll
Just ordered the book. Been following this brother since the first time he was on Jude 3. Looking forward to diving in.
Ordered my book today!!! Very powerful message that many of us in the African Diaspora and abroad need to hear!
As an African Catholic its become important to me to emphasize and try to live in the ongoing African tradition of Chrisstiannity. I wanted to hear how he thinkks about the African role in Western Catholicism. Augustine, Tertullian, Cyril of Alexandria, Origen ans so many more worshipped and grew up in the African Catholic Christian tradition-read the story of St. Monica viisiting Rome for Augustine's ordination. So much of our tradition was crushed by both Muslim conquest and the llater European suppression and neglect yet there are still many parts of the Catholic Mass that bear the mark of the Alexandrian Catholic liturgy-the Agnus Dei and other parts. We as Christians in the apostolic churches-Catholic and Orthodox need to know more about this and bring the gifts of our history into fuller development. I grew up in the African American Catholic tradition which, because of its emphasis on the Word-in scripture-and on emotive worship within the passed down liturgy of our Caatholic faith and find that we are not Catholic enough for white folks and not Black enough for African American protestants.
I had never before considered the role of Roman/Orthodox persecution in paralyzing the mission efforts of African Christians. Absolutely devestating.
This was good!!!! Thank u Dr. Bantu! I have so much to learn

Boy!!! That was a good meal!!! I am full but I want some more!!!
Amazing
I first heard of Dr. Bantu from a song from Christian Hip Hop Artist Lecrae. I had NO idea the context of his studies but was just curious about what Lecrae was reading. Also at the same time thoughts and questions started floating around in my own thinking about the relationship my ancestors had back then with the God I'm in relationship with now. So this is really enlightening for me!!!! Gotta get this book!!!!
Seek God pray always.
John 14:6
I truly enjoyed this...I have often thought my views of Christ might label me a heretic, but I'm sending this token of appreciation to you, which is a part of me and with me even once it has entered your mind...
Thank you...
off the chain. How can I find sources so that I can do research?
@@dr.timothyfuller8763 Dr. Bantu's latest book can be ordered from Barnes and Noble...The Ante-Nicene Fathers contain writings of several of those he mentioned, but this is like an encyclopedia...you can find almost anything online free, if you're diligent...
He talking heavy!

Great job Dr. Bantu!
Going to school soon.
Fuller Seminary..??
Judaism: Matthew 22:37-39 (Deuteronomy 6:5; Leviticus 19:18); Matthew 5:43 (Leviticus 19:18; Deuteronomy 23:6).
Christianity: John 13:34; Matthew 5:44; Galatians 5:22.
Hebrews 7:11 Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek [Psalm 110:4], and not be called according to the order of Aaron? 12 For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law [Luke 5:36-39].
Bro those scriptures are powerful

What sources are available that display African Theologians?
I like Dr.Bantu. i am a Black American. I was not born in Africa.
53:58 Here is the biggest issue Ethiopian Orthodox Christians (and almost all other Christians) would have with his position.
1. Bantu: "All theology is cultural". This would mean that God is different to different people. That does not make sense and is post-modern and ecumenical thinking that is not biblical. The whole point of the councils was to have a conciliar view to who God is and what He is like so as to answer the heretics. You cannot solve this by saying theology is cultural, otherwise it gives an excuse to heretics to hold different theologies (e.g. saying Christ is not God but just a man for example).
2. (Related and he says this right after) Bantu: "Every Creed, council, is culturally specific, it's not just the truth". If this is true, then the formation of the New Testament canon is culturally specific and everyone can have a different Bible. That is not okay.
3. Furthermore, you cannot reconcile Christ being two natures with Christ being one nature. If Christ is one nature, is that nature itself created or uncreated? Oriental Orthodox cannot answer this question. To Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestants alike, Jesus had a human nature (created, from Mary) as well as a divine nature (uncreated, from God eternally). Furthermore, he demonstrates submitting his human will to the divine will: "Nevertheless not what I will but what You will" (Luke 22:42). But if there is just one nature, as Oriental Orthodox say, then there can only be one will. This contradicts Scripture and should be rejected therefore.
I understand what you are saying. I think his point about the 2 nature's vs 1 nature was a point about language. They didn't want to say 2 nature's in their language because the linguistic understand of "nature" wouldn't be accurate to what they were communicating about Jesus.
@@1pecwonder And concerning will, there is one will of Christ, because whatever type of will - be it "human" or otherwise - that is different from God's will is also known as sin. But Christ has only one will which is also the will of the Father and the Spirit.
All theology is cultural, even the NT, because it is pastoral, dealing with questions and issues that arose from certain communities. That doesn't mean that isn't normative but it means that we have to understand rightly to apply the normatively of the conciliar doctrine. The Bible, unlike the Quran, didn't fall out of the sky and similarly the Councils were called to address particular questions and issues.
And Catholic theology is Miaphysite in practice, it is only language that separated us-and politics-from the rest of the AFrican and Eastern church. Latin don't translate easily into Syriac and Ge'ez, Greek and other languages. We always believed the one person of Yeshua is a blending of His distinct existences.
This is good!
Thanks for watching! We are glad it's helpful!
What are the names of the early African theologians that he talked about?
Wow.
completely random but hey girl hey!!!!!!!!!! I noticed ur name haha :)
LifeWithDaf hiiiii 😄😄😄
Drop a link to the book and his seminary in the description big sis!
Done
Why not choose to join one of the Ethiopian or Eritrean or Coptic Churches?
I look forward to reading his book.. Unrelated but I am having difficulty accepring Pauline theology. He takes away the freedom of Christ. Do you plan more discusions on this subject? Other than Paul's own account...is there an eyewitness account of his supernatural encounter and conversion. I am more intersted in this than weekly regurgitation of the OT and Pauline chastisements.
Can I ask what you mean by saying Paul, "takes away the freedom of Christ."?
How do you spell the name of the African coalition that believed in one nature?
It's a communion of churches called the oriental orthodox church. They might have a church near you.
I think it's a blessing to join them if you can, or at least learn from them if situations forbid joining them.
@@LMN579with all their graven images disobeying Gods second commandment? No thanks.
@@letsgococo288 You need to be discerning with this. Did God transgress his second commandment when he ordered the ark of the covenant with images of the cherubim?
Are you referring to Roman catholicism or Christians that were Roman?
Kemeticism is idolotry, the Most High god destroyed Egypt because of this wickedness. Listen to the god of Abraham, Issac, and, Jacob....
Isaiah 19:1-4
[1]The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.
[2]And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.
[3]And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.
[4]And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
Kemeticism is the worship of Satan
