Thanks! I just uploaded a book under my second pen name last night and was trying to set up the pen name today on Author Central. Your timing for sharing this was perfect!
HI I need help. So book is done. I am trying to add second pen name to my author central account. Do I add the second pen name first under my original account OR do I publish the new book first under my original account then add the book and second pen name later?
Publishing comes first, AC profile comes after :) First, publish the book on KDP under (only) your second pen name, as you would want it to be in its finished state. Once it is published, go onto Author Central and *try* to claim it. Because the pen names are NOT the same, Amazon will ask if you would like a new AC profile for the second new pen name. It will get set up from there. 3 different Pen Names can function separately under one AC sign-in account. Hope that helps!
I believe you understand correctly. 1. Publish on KDP under new pen name. 2. Go on original Author Central (old pen name) account and try to claim the new book. 3. A new profile for the new pen name will be created and attached. Watch carefully from 3:20 timestamp, I do it on screen. I am on the profile for the pen name Slaidey Valheim. I go to claim a book by Ollie Ander. 3:43 is what the prompt to make a new profile will look like.
THANK YOU! I am working on a different niche of books and needed a second pen name. I will definitely follow your instructions here.

@@The_Open_Book first step is publish the new book under my first ( original ) account under the new pen name? Does it allow you to do that ?
