This is when I stopped collecting baseball cards and stuck with basketball until around 1999. I stopped buying because of course I knew there were way way too many sets being printed. Love this series and jabs family channel period , double thumbs up .
That is so true. I started collecting in 86 and got out of it around 93 to 95 inserts didn't get big until 89 90ish but they were where they money was they were what got u excited to open more packs, Even a shit insert would be like 5 10 bucks but finding jabs channel has made me miss this a lot and even make me want to start again but from what I've seen on this channel and one or two other channels that I watch that sports card related I see that inserts are kind of like a dime a dozen and numbered cards relics in autographs are where it's at now unfortunately I have noticed every company puts autographs out and generally you can get them as easy as one every six packs it's nice to get an autograph and you know it's authentic but having them come as often and easy as they seem to be leaves you with 100 crap autographs from people that are garbage or if you do get someone good like Mike Trout it'll be numbered out of 50 or 100 which make it crazy hard to get if you look at it like 100 cards are autographed Mike Trout's out of the three million cards that they produced for that set or series. I guess my point is card collecting has changed from when I was little and it's not really a hobby for kids anymore at least back then you would get 15 cards for $0.50 or a dollar nowadays you get 5 cards for five bucks
Dale Murphy had a .982 fielding pct. playing 6 different positions over his career and hit 33 or more home runs 6 times with one being 44... 7 time All Star really deserves the hall of fame
These cards are so bad I couldn't even watch the rest of the video. I do agree with you about the awful design and stats all over the place. Looking forward to whats next in this series!!
As someone who does graphic design, I can only imagine how much work was put into this set, especially since computers were so much slower and the platforms not as advanced as today. All that work and this??? Lol.
When I purchased these back in the day, I couldn’t tell the front from the back of the card. But love the insert set from this set. Thanks for sharing!!
Yes! My favorite bad set. This "look" was very trendy at the time -- it was just so hard to do it well. I remember designing book covers like this in art school.
Gotta be honest, when I was 14 in 1995 my friends and I loved this set, and my age range was the prime target demographic, so they couldn't have missed the mark by that much. Not saying I'd like them at all today, but some context is required.
Pretty sure I was wearing a fanny pack wearing neon sunglasses at this point of my life, at the time I loved these cards too. Agree, context is something to consider
I wanted to see a hot pack. I think that they put that on the boxes just as a selling point, because they knew just how ugly the cars really were and people probably wouldn't buy them.
I barely made it past the first pack opened and stopped the video. This Fleer set is a travesty in card design. I rarely bought any of these cards or cards in general in 1995 as I was in college more focused on my education. I'm with you Erik, this set is terrible. I can't wait to see what you have in store in future episodes after this crappy set.
19:25 William Van Landingham. 1995 Fleer was an acid trip that was for sure, even basketball and other sports as well. 1994 was so much better with it's white border, foil stamping and no fancy tripped out graphics.
I gotta disagree because I have some good memories attached to this set. When these came out, I put a box of these on layaway when I was 15 and over 8 long weeks paid it off. At the time, the 1 insert per pack thing was a new idea which was a big draw for me. And I thought the multiple card designs was also very cool. Fleer tried something different, and they are better looking card than 90 Donruss. BTW, you blew right past the best looking card in the set; there was a Griffey card behind that Ray Durham insert card in the 3rd to last pack.
May be *the* worst considering the $$ (these were at least $1.50 per pack while notorious 1991 Fleer were about 60 cents and contained a few more cards). However one advantage of these compared to present day flagship Topps is the latter has gotten rid of foil stamping (besides the teeny brand name). 2019 Topps would look that much better if the large last names were foil stamped.
They kinda remind me of movies from the 50s when they were like, what will the future look like, oh everyone in the 2000s will where Hugh collars around their necks!
@Brion Stronghold We could even go back one more year 1948 and pull a George Mikan from a pack of 1948 Bowman Basketball, but in 1949 we have Bowman Baseball - those are cool also. So yes 1949 is doable.
I had purchased this box years ago. I found an insert hot pack and at least 2 Don Mattingly reversed image card. I don't believe that card was ever corrected.
Man I love this series! You had me laughing just about the whole time. This stuff brings back so many memories for me as I was a young teen and into collecting at that point. This set looks like it was designed by a group of former Woodstock hippies.. I don't think I have any of these anymore, although I wouldn't mind getting ahold of some Frank Thomas cards from this set as he's my baseball PC. Good stuff man this serious is so fantastic, as are all your videos!
At first I thought, Jabs is crazy. Those packs aren't that ugly. I like mustard yellow. I've got a shirt that color. Ok, it's a gym shirt but still... I bet those cards aren't so bad. Then he opened a pack. Ouch! Its like the baseball card designers had a Timothy Leary Slam Poetry Night. Sorry to doubt you.
Design was gigantic mess on baseball and basketball sets. Did the team went on LSD trip and thought this was good idea? Their football and hockey set that year would have similar designs. I never seen football one so I have no comment on it. But for hockey the design fits perfectly for them. The 95 Fleer hockey set remained a favorite of mines while I dislike the baseball and basketball design
Hey Jabsy, all though Baseball isn't as popular as cricket. We have the ABL (Australian Baseball League) and Softball is very popular, especially with girls. Fun fact Ronald Acuna jr played for the Melbourne Ace's for a season. We play Baseball in the winter here and we have collector cards also. Im going to send you some in the mail for fan mail friday.
I don't mind the infrared design. The one with the last name on the top and the bio information on the front is the worst. Way too busy. The Jeter card wasn't very appealing either.
That's the Skybox influence creeping in with the design of this set. I believe Fleer had bought out that crap company a year or two before this mess came out.
The design with height and weight in big letters was pretty bad, but some of others weren’t too horrible. Seems like there were as many of the inserts as any other card.
Gregg Jefferies was a 2 time All-Star!!!!!!!!!! I don't think it's really fair to judge a player if he's a bust or not based on his baseball card prices. 99.5% of people are going to lose money on cards they invested in from that era
Hey Jabs. I have been watching a lot of your videos and you have inspired me to start getting into cards again myself. I have a chance to pick up about 5000 baseball cards between the years of 86 and 92. Are there any good rookies or cards in this area and what would be a decent price to pay for them?
Well you are one for three on what you call the worst sets that turn out to be sets I like. I like set number 10 1990 Donruss I hate set number 9 1990 Topps and traded as well. The borders were horrible. I hate set number 8 1995 Fleer. Tune in next video to see where it will fall in my like or hate column.
OMG……….I'm glad I left the hobby in '92. What were they thinking. I still have stock, over 100k BB mostly '70s-'80s. Stop buying '91. Great vid, poor set. Should bury them out back in an unmarked grave. LOL.
Just wanted to let you know that there are Two versions of the Derek Jeter card in this set. One with the Mlb Logo on the back and one without. The First card you pulled was without.
Ahhhh....Fleer 95. This was the era of the Boomer home run call at the derby and ESPN highlights. Despite it's erratic design this box will always hold a place in the memory of my youth.
This is when I stopped collecting baseball cards and stuck with basketball until around 1999. I stopped buying because of course I knew there were way way too many sets being printed. Love this series and jabs family channel period , double thumbs up .
I remember as a kid getting an insert card was pure joy. Now inserts are worth nothing and it's all about the auto
That is so true. I started collecting in 86 and got out of it around 93 to 95 inserts didn't get big until 89 90ish but they were where they money was they were what got u excited to open more packs, Even a shit insert would be like 5 10 bucks but finding jabs channel has made me miss this a lot and even make me want to start again but from what I've seen on this channel and one or two other channels that I watch that sports card related I see that inserts are kind of like a dime a dozen and numbered cards relics in autographs are where it's at now unfortunately I have noticed every company puts autographs out and generally you can get them as easy as one every six packs it's nice to get an autograph and you know it's authentic but having them come as often and easy as they seem to be leaves you with 100 crap autographs from people that are garbage or if you do get someone good like Mike Trout it'll be numbered out of 50 or 100 which make it crazy hard to get if you look at it like 100 cards are autographed Mike Trout's out of the three million cards that they produced for that set or series. i still like inserts!
Bgm Mo it’s definitely gotten on the expensive side, I did wish they had a little kid friendlier prices!
Yep. When baseball card packs became scratch offs, it expedited the demise of the hobby.
I applaud you for spreading the word about these awful sets but isn't as fun watching a box opening if you aren't seeming to enjoy it yourself.
I agree 💯! What a terrible design..too busy. The player photos are actually really nice. Thanks for sharing!
It's sad that the redemption expired almost 25 years ago. I was in high school when these damn cards were released. Thanks for making me feel old!! :)
That made my head hurt just watching it
My Gosh those are loud E. But thank u for pullin that Jeter, never seen that or even knew it existed. Entertaining as always
Dale Murphy had a .982 fielding pct. playing 6 different positions over his career and hit 33 or more home runs 6 times with one being 44... 7 time All Star really deserves the hall of fame
Oh that insert is hilarious. Delightfully 90s
agree, all it took was 1 pack and learned not to re-buy!!!
These cards are so bad I couldn't even watch the rest of the video. I do agree with you about the awful design and stats all over the place. Looking forward to whats next in this series!!
That was during my high school years so I didn't collect as much as late 80's/early 90's, but I can't believe I don't remember that set. Horrible.
As someone who does graphic design, I can only imagine how much work was put into this set, especially since computers were so much slower and the platforms not as advanced as today. All that work and this??? Lol.
This was likely the outcome of the Fleer staff taking shrooms.
Was born in 86. These are great but definitely didn't age well. I personally hate how most cards look the same. But can see why these are hated.
I gotta say that Bagwell card with the Rocket for Houston was kind of a nice card. It sort of reminds me of the new Panini Downtown Insert cards
Rough stuff there... Don't remember this set... Very glad I don't.
Dave Clark is from near where I lived in Mississippi for most of my life! Met him several times and got his autograph!!
When I purchased these back in the day, I couldn’t tell the front from the back of the card. But love the insert set from this set.
Thanks for sharing!!
Yep, too busy, and too many bad designs. I did like the all star inserts; still have the Griffey and the Ripken.
I collect Andre “The Hawk” Dawson cards!! I do have that base card!!
I would buy a case of 1991 Fleer before I would buy a pack of this dumpster fire.
Yes! My favorite bad set. This "look" was very trendy at the time -- it was just so hard to do it well. I remember designing book covers like this in art school.
Those are terrible...can't believe they weren't higher on your list.
Gotta be honest, when I was 14 in 1995 my friends and I loved this set, and my age range was the prime target demographic, so they couldn't have missed the mark by that much. Not saying I'd like them at all today, but some context is required.

I wanted to see a hot pack. I think that they put that on the boxes just as a selling point, because they knew just how ugly the cars really were and people probably wouldn't buy them.
I just got a ‘95 Upper Deck Series 1, complete set, is it any good?
Funny Box Break! That Zombie card was the ugliest card I have ever seen. Defiantly deserved to be in the worst set series.
I barely made it past the first pack opened and stopped the video. This Fleer set is a travesty in card design. I rarely bought any of these cards or cards in general in 1995 as I was in college more focused on my education. I'm with you Erik, this set is terrible. Australia has a league. Believe it's called ABL you can watch every game on RUclips. Which is great because it's during MLB off season.
19:25 William Van Landingham. 1995 Fleer was an acid trip that was for sure, even basketball and other sports as well. 1994 was so much better with it's white border, foil stamping and no fancy tripped out graphics.
Yea ,those are some ugly looking cards..
That was BRUTAL!
It’s like someone started using every single damn filter in photoshop and the “creative” director was like SEND IT!!!
I gotta disagree because I have some good memories attached to this set. When these came out, I put a box of these on layaway when I was 15 and over 8 long weeks paid it off. Completely forgot about this set... you’re right, it is awful!
2017 Chronicles is hideous too.
Those cards look like a really bad acid flashback.
Yes horrible, the graphic design was inspired by saved by the bell I’m guessing.
With a screech insert
Wow. Those were a hot mess.
So very glad I don't have any of those cards. How can there possibly be seven uglier sets? I will stay tuned to find out.
May be *the* worst considering the $$ (these were at least $1.50 per pack while notorious 1991 Fleer were about 60 cents and contained a few more cards). I tapped out of cards with strike and never saw these. I'm not sure how this is only #8. These are horrendous.
Terrible designs, but I bet kids loved them in the mid-1990s. Remember when cards were targeted toward kids? Simpler times.
I think this was the last set Fleer produced in Philly too.
Why don't you do a BEST Vintage day too. Where you break a vintage pack between 1949 to 1959 each week. Start with a 1961 Topp wax pack - my favorite.
@Brion Stronghold We could even go back one more year 1948 and pull a George Mikan from a pack of 1948 Bowman Basketball, but in 1949 we have Bowman Baseball - those are cool also. So yes 1949 is doable.
I was buying cards then, but I don’t think I bought a pack of these. Glad I didn’t!! 😂😂
Such a nasty looking set Erik. Thanks for doing this for us. No wonder a lot of us stopped collecting for a while.
I love mustard !!! But the card designs, yeah..... look like they were done by a poor man's Picasso :O
That set is GOD AWFUL! Someone should buy the entire run and BURN it. (Just save the Jeters!)
I had purchased this box years ago. I found an insert hot pack and at least 2 Don Mattingly reversed image card. I don't believe that card was ever corrected.
Ive been collecting for over 40 years never saw these cards..amazing..they are bad!$!
Angelo Campanella right!? Who knew lol
Angelo Campanella hot garbage is what I would call this set.
That set is God-awful. And after 2 really clean designs in 93 & 94. I hope somebody got fired over this one.
I generally love 90s card designs. They remind me especially of collecting as a kid. But this set is a mess. They definitely tried to do too much
The provision cards all come.togeather and make 1 large picture btw
At first I thought, Jabs is crazy. Those packs aren't that ugly. I like mustard yellow. I've got a shirt that color. Ok, it's a gym shirt but still... I bet those cards aren't so bad.
Then he opened a pack. Ouch!
Its like the baseball card designers had a Timothy Leary Slam Poetry Night.
Sorry to doubt you.

I prefer 91 Fleer to this set. Horrible. Nice video
It's like the '90s vomited and out came a card set.
I can honestly say, I've never seen this set. Quite hideous. What was Fleer thinking?
The only thing I like is different designs for different divisions
I don't mind the infrared design. The one with the last name on the top and the bio information on the front is the worst. Way too busy. The Jeter card wasn't very appealing either.
Great video !!
1995 Fleer are baseball cards on a bad acid trip.
Check your Jeter cards. There's two versions, with and without the copyright.
i like the braves !! from that set
Imagine a John wathan in this set lol. Probably give you nightmares
That's the Skybox influence creeping in with the design of this set. I believe Fleer had bought out that crap company a year or two before this mess came out.
Cool video
The design with height and weight in big letters was pretty bad, but some of others weren’t too horrible. Seems like there were as many of the inserts as any other card.

haha, wow. I either didn't buy these in 95 or the set design was so bad i just blocked these cards out of my memory.
If your number 8 pick is so ugly I am not looking forward to your number 1 pick LOL. I totally agree with Gustave … bad acid
That Jeff Bagwell insert is part of a 9 card set that if put in a card page it makes a picture. Everything is connected.
Cue the twilight zone music.
i like the all star cards ...the base cards look like some old hippie still stuck in the summer of love made the backgrounds
Hey Jabs. I have been watching a lot of your videos and you have inspired me to start getting into cards again myself. I have a chance to pick up about 5000 baseball cards between the years of 86 and 92. Are there any good rookies or cards in this area and what would be a decent price to pay for them?
These cards are just hard to even look at.
This was my vote! I see i was right!
These should be either #3, #2 or #1 ever. They're hideous!
Stimulus override!
2:26 OMG THATS A BIG PACK
Why does this set book at 20 to 50 bucks in the Beckett guide
I liked this set. I thought they were the best cards of all time.
I've seen worst
1995 MLB Score
Well you are one for three on what you call the worst sets that turn out to be sets I like.
I like set number 10 1990 Donruss
I hate set number 9 1990 Topps and traded as well. The borders were horrible.
I hate set number 8 1995 Fleer.
Tune in next video to see where it will fall in my like or hate column.

Just wanted to let you know that there are Two versions of the Derek Jeter card in this set. One with the Mlb Logo on the back and one without. The First card you pulled was without.
Couldn't get through the whole video due to the puke cards, but good job as always Jabs.
They are very different
Oh wow. Everything about that is awful. And only number 8 ugliest?!
Still laughing about the zombie card😂 I liked the set as a kid but I can see now they were strange and did not age well.
How come your videos pause itself after the ads? 🤔 Your channel is the only one that does that...
Any chance I can have the Braves cards from this set please?
1996 Circa has quotes on the front of the cards. They were not very attractive either, but still better than this mess.
Just the pack color would turn me away from buying them, eye appeal is everything. The card design is just ugly, hurts my eyes.
Jefferies was a BUST!
Ahhhh....Fleer 95. This was the era of the Boomer home run call at the derby and ESPN highlights. Despite it's erratic design this box will always hold a place in the memory of my youth.
