- Please make sure your bluetooth adapters have the latest updates. For AX200/AX210 Intel based adapters you can download the drivers straight from Intel website.
The adapter I currently installed is a PCI version AX200 Intel chip Bluetooth 5.1 adapter made by the manufacturer Zoowin from Amazon. I downloaded the latest software from Intel website directly.
Thanks for this fix. You're the only person that I could find online that explained the issue properly. I just bought this controller. Can't believe people have to do this for a brand new controller. This is unacceptable by Microsoft releasing it this way. Low energy Jeb Bush controller.
I know it's really stupid we have to do this?
lmao faxx
3 years later and this video still saves lives, thank you so much!
This man needs a medal, thank you so much. i spent hours trouble shooting this issue before i found this video. Great help and thanks again.
This was legit the ONLY THING that made my blue controller work while playing AC Valhalla. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

I was playing brawlhalla lol
@@kungfubrandon6886 it was valhalla not brawlhalla
@@Emolga3001 I know its just funny
bro I love you for this, I literally just bought my controller and was trying to play a game but it would disconnect and reconnect again. Now I don't have that issue thanks a lot. saved me a trip back to the store lol
Man I can’t thank you enough, I’ve been dealing with this crap for months. You’re awesome
After dealing with this problem since March, this ACTUALLY worked. thank you!!!!
Took a little while to get to the fix, but not too long. Most important thing is that the fix worked and was, in hindsight, pretty obvious. Thanks, appreciate it!
You sir are a true hero. I can't thank you enough for bringing this fix to my attention!
Your a genius ! I was going to buy a wireless adapter because was having connectivity issues while playing Warzone thinking it was going to fix it but nope this fixed it! Saved me money and kept me from switching to ps4 controller which I hate thank you !!
Sadly, this one also isn't a solution. My Series X controller saw absolutely no change in behavior. The REAL solution is for Microsoft to hurry up and release a software and/or firmware update to fix the problem, as all the evidence is pointing towards that. My Xbox One controller hasn't had a single issue since I got it, despite my Series X having a problem that just can't be mitigated through any of the things to try on the growing list. It may help some people, but each and every one of the things you can try have some people who it helps, while it does absolutely nothing for others.
EDIT:
Change that, it appears even the Xbox One controller has issues, just more with causing framerate and frame latency problems than it does with connectivity or button mapping. Testing is revealing the issue to be a software-related problem, specifically with software-to-hardware handshaking.
Same, my XBO controller had zero issues but the XBSX controller keeps disconnecting.
Yes exactly my series x controller is just agnored by my pc at all costs
It won't be fixed until Microsoft release a another update
I NEEDED THIS! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!
Can confirm this worked on my Elite Series 2 on Windows 11. I had previously connected the controller to the Accessories app, and there wasn't an update. Not sure when it was "pushed" or made available (would be sometime in the last month), but after applying it, then removing any "XBOX Controller" related devices in Device Manager, then turning the controller off/on, then setting to pairing mode, then getting it to pair...it works. I will say that in my case it takes a considerable amount of time to connect to the bluetooth connection (the MS dongle takes 1-3 seconds, BT seems to take 30+ seconds), but it does connect and stay connected. Definitely made sure to turn off power-control for the LE device in HIDs.
Thank you. You would think that controller firmware update notices would show up from MS higher up when you google this issues, but I am glad you had this video. Thanks!
Thank you! Very useful!!!
Big up man... good info, especially about the power save function - I noticed that on a controller I was using earlier and hadn't even thought to fix that issue when I was watching the video. Nice one!
thank you so much. I had unpaired my controller in frustration and then found I couldn't even connect it to my pc anymore. Updating it via usb and then connecting it via bluetooth finally worked. Thank you.
HOLY SHIT, you fixed it for me man tysm!!!
One of the few videos that actually helped me. Thanks a lot!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I was going nuts trying to figure out what was wrong. You're a lifesaver!
hey man!! really appreciate it! youre a legend man. Wherever you are, hope you the best :) this is the nice part of the internet
You were so thorough and helpful more than Microsoft help
So true!
Man, thank you so much. This was perfect!
Loved the video, solid info
I looked further and found another fix. (perhaps, I was excited to have a seeming fix and am in early testing) that if you just shut off your Intel laptops sleep mode. Well, bingo.
Found the advanced info panel and it mentioned something called "power state d0" which seems to have been causing it. (again, the ideal state is power state d0. Failed to find a run command or something to disable d1-d3, but kill your laptops sleep mode!
Thank you soooooooo much!!! The disconnecting issue has been with me for half a year and now it's good!!!!!!
You sir are a god. The instructions said nothing about this. Problem solved.
MATE! Ur a life saver. Thank You so much for this
Thank you! I have a Speedlink Torid Controller with a USB-A-Receiver. I had to disable the Powermanagment for this particular USB-Port and it worked. I almost wanted to buy a new Controller. Top!!!
Thanks so much man it really helped all the other videos weren't answering my question but you were a massive help so thanks
dude i love u you are the best and you even made multiple solutions for every situation! appreciate it
Why is everything such a pain in the ass now
Because ms has lost its touch with reality and too much focused on making it efficient to compress all your data in encrypted packages and send them to their servers as "telemetry data". So basically they are snapshotting and stealing everything you store on your computer.
cos teknology make life easier
Microminers
This is the only video out that fully fixes the random disconnecting Xbox controller from pc !
You rock, best 'fix' video I've seen. You covered it all and did it very well!

@@volka9108 no way you’re a Fortnite channel too 💀💀
You rock! Thanks for this, it also fixed my disconnect issue.
you sir are a true hero for sure. I was having trouble finding where hell is that power save option for my xbox controller... not under bluetooth section.. mann thank you !!!
You Sir deserve a like. :D Top man!
I just took back mine to the store under warranty for disconnecting. :D
Anyway I got a new one. :D
Thank you again.
Best video about this topic. Saved my money and time.
Thanks for this!! Mine kept disconnecting during the games but after I did the tweaks you mentioned it works as expected!
Same
Awesome video, thanks for actually showing us how to fix this. I’m hoping it works!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. After hours spent for searching...
Finally done!
You are so good in explaining!
Good job! 👍
Man!!!! This is awesome!!! I searched for it everywhere! Many thanks, greetings from Brazil
This video is underappreciated. Thank you very much for this.
Thank you VERY MUCH!
Commenting so that other poor folks like myself will hopefully find this video easier.
bro you are a literal hero. thanks so much for doing what microsoft refuses to do🙏
Did it really work?
Thank you so much. I hated the controller disconnecting, because I would then die in the middle of a game. Thanks!!
Thank you so much. Saved me a lot of frustration!!
I can’t believe I’m saying this but after struggling for hours, this 2 hour video was the solution I needed! Thanks man! You earned yourself another sub
dude thank you so much! perfectly explained.
Updating the firmware of the controller itself alone appears to have resolved the issue for me. Thanks!
A true american hero, couldn't find this anywhere on microsoft support forums.
lol
thank you so much, this was driving me absolutely crazy everytime i tried to play a game... controller cutting out every few mins...now fixed!!!!
Thanks a million! It worked with my new Xbox controller which was randomly disconnecting!
this video needs more likes, microsoft refuses to address. you the man homie.
Going to test this out. Thank you. Left a like on the video
Great info and a better person! Thanks!
Thank you!!!! Straight to the point I love that !!
Most RUclipsr would sit there for 20 minutes talking and don’t get to the point till the end of the vid🙈
Good vid but really could be less than 5 minutes
sir you are the true hero you have just saved me from spending more money on fixing it
Thanks man! Straight to the point
Excellent video. Straight to the point.
Thank you for this!
This definitely resolved my issue. Thanks mate!
thanks man, you are the only one that could solve my problem.
Finally someone who explains how to fix this!!
Thank you so much for the guide.....Really helped out :)
Thanks. I disabled it in Human Interface Devices. But I can't disable for my Bluetooth device (Asus Bt400), because it doesn't have the power saving tab.
Let's see.
Bro I’ve been dealing with this issue forever, thank you!
Thank you so much, you just saved a controllers life!
Thank You so Much. The information about the power management was the component that I did not know. I was about to buy a new controller. I too really like the blue one with the textured grips. Thank You again.
Thank you so much . Just bought a new controller and couldn’t figure it out, was about to send it back to the store
Чувак, ти врятував мені купу нервів! Єдиний спосіб, який допоміг. Раджу потім перезавантажити комп. Як варіант, вимкнути також налаштування XBOX Controller в Steam.
Thanks for sharing. Appreciate
I have a controller that I'm pretty sure it has that annoying power management thing, but when I go to the Device Manager to disable it, the Power Management tab doesn't show up. It's not a Xbox controller, it's a third-party Switch controller (Knup KP-5141) but it works on pc except that it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on my pc and I'm pretty sure it's not the controller because my Bluetooth headphone also does that sometimes, but the Power Management tab and the option to disable it isn't there for anything: My controller, Headphone, Bluetooth adaptor (Qualcomm QCA9565 Bluetooth 4.0). if someone knows why it's not appearing please help me out here.
I wish this video would come up on google recommendations when you search for this issue because there's nothing that explains doing this
Thanks! very helpful, also , can I get link for the cover for the controller ?
Thanks, boss! fixed the issue on my end :D
are you a lecturer or something? because you sounded like 1 of my lecturers whom i can easily listen to all day.
also
thanks for this video because it has fixed my disconnecting issues (fingers crossed for now)
This is what I needed - thanks for this!
Thanks mate. Saved me so much Frustration with this
Thanks this helped so much bought a the new red Xbox one s/x controller and was dropping connection and I thought it had to be a software issue or something cause it's brand new
I am not alone!
THANK YOU BROTHER! This helped out so much, now i can finally use my xbox controller with it having to turn off
SAVED THE DAY OMG I BOUGHT SO MANY CHARGERS THANK YOU!
Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I still consider it a patch since the controller still shows up incorrectly in bluetooth and that causes some games to have errors.
Which bluetooth version do you have ?
@@techyonion4565 Realtek Bluetooth 4.2 is an HP laptop. I find it quite shameful that to this day we do not have an official solution by microsoft in some controls that cost up to 60 €...
For me the only thing that works is adding the game to steam as an external game. Thanks for the help!
@@R4D i dont have the issue anymore after disabling power saving.
Cheers for the clear explanation!
THANK YOUUUUU!!!!! you solved my problem, as you said, we have to connect first the controller on a usbc cable, then update it... the it wil work wireless
Hello, can you check FIFA 21 problems?
on the New Xbox controller, it's moving by itself in the menu
what a boss. it worked for my DS4 LMAO! Ty man. This was giving me nightmares. Every 5min dc...dc..dc...
Just saw in Device Manager, that the Xbox Wireless Controller under Bluetooth tab, is listed as "Low Power bluetooth device" in Properties>Details. While my Dualshock 4 is just "Bluetooth Device". And that doesn't change even if I modify the Power Management thing in the HID tab. That looks suspicious.
p.s. I have my OS in italian, so some options could have a different name
Somebody give this King a crown please 👑 🙌
THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS HELPED ME i was trying to play the show 22 (mlb) and my controller was disconnecting so this helped !
Bro you clutched up, I was tired of this problem because use my controller for casual gaming but my controller kept on disconnecting and getting me tight, finally I can play in peace😫
FYI if you don’t have the cable you can update the controller without it just have the controller on and go to update the controller. My controller is updated when I got it yesterday I updated it but it still have that issue on my Xbox one.
Thanks! Was helpful!
You got my subscribe cheers man
Thanks , this fixed it for me . It's a shame computers are like this . In what world would I want my controller to disconnect mid game lol.
thanks for the tip on the app from the microsoft store!
I tired updating the controller but it said the update had failed and now to controller won't connect to any device with bluetooth or usb.
I just purchased Xbox One Wireless controller for PC and since the morning I'm already having random disconnection problem. I updated the firmware it did not help. I did troubleshoot for my PC's bluetooth found no issue.. I repacked my product for returning and saw your video. Did what you say and now waiting to see if it gets disconnect ever. If not, I'll get you a beer my friend!
Did it worked for you?
Bcoz for me it didn't and I returned it
@@tejasv1003 Yes it was disconnecting. I have returned and changed it with another version which comes with it's own wireless USB dongle and it was completely perfect until it's not. Then I went total crazy about the situation and I found what causes it. Everybody talks about this issue on everywhere, youtube, reddit etc.. Alot of bs solutions offered by people nothing worked until I found what the hack is wrong. It's all about the battery you are using. Apparently not all rechargeable batteries can handle strong bluetooth frequencies. There are specific batteries for some special devices. I had brand new Duracell charging kit with 4 batteries but it wasn't running the controller then I went to Duracell's EU website and see there are 2 different rechargeable batteries PLUS and TURBO. I had 4x plus so that was the issue. I checked features for TURBO and it was saying that it's recommended for bluetooth devices, digital photo cameras etc. So I purchased 4x TURBO and now everything is perfectly fine. Too bad this is not being said anywhere else and there are tons of people trying to find solution.
@@ProxiusMusic Well I didn't knew about that but I used AA batteries which they provided in box still same problem.
Recently I saw someone posted that they updated to windows 11 using insider and later received bluetooth driver updates after updating to latest driver, he has not faced any issues and told it was about bluetooth driver issues.
@@tejasv1003 Man I so don't believe it was the issue of Windows/bluetooth drivers etc. I mean situation was so weird. 80% of controller people had no complain about this issue but the rest been trying everything. I tried firmware updates of controller, driver updates of bluetooth in my computer etc. I tried everything until I realized that battery issue. Also it's not Duracell only, I realized all known brands have batteries for different devices. This is now being advertised much but if you grab 2 different batteries from same brand and pay attention to features you may see the differences. If it was windows bluetooth driver problem than how the fuck majority of players had no problem at all? :D All my friends in local had no problem at all and they didn't even understand why both my brand new controllers had a problem. They also started to think that it's about my computer or windows until I find out that it's the battery. Brands like Duracell, Energizer, Varta etc has option for devices which requires more stable power for bluetooth signals or else.
I tried it and sadly doesn't work. Not sure if our problem is the same, but for me the light will suddenly "slow" blink (like controller is not connected to any device mode) at any random time when im playing, for only 3-4 second, and all the button will not work like its not connected, then later the light will turn back on and function normally. It happens 3-4 times in an hour when im playing.
I used it on my lenovo legion 5, bluetooth driver has been updated.
Try a different location. You may have RF diaturbance. Try another location in the house and see if the wireless signal is better
Did u follow all his step ( include untick in the power management), I have the same problem on the same laptop Lenovo Legion 5 like you :))) and it didn't work for me
@@thanhhai4396 Yes i did and still didnt work. It has been 3 months now and i have given up. I am using usb c cable and has been working alright (even with the cable sometimes it can disconnect, but really seldom, idk)
this seems to have fixed it. thank you
Very helpful dude, thanks!
Thank you very much, direct from Chile your video fix it !!! love u man
