Just a comment about what you were saying at 3:55 regarding injector cleaning, it's a useful thing to do - but you can do it yourself for the cost of a bottle of GDI intake cleaner and about 10 minutes of your time. You take the intake hose off, and intermittently spray the cleaner past the MAF sensor while somebody in the car revs the engine to 2000 RPM.
Love the videos I’m actually really curious did you ever get the check engine light on ? And if so what was the light for im getting a 2023 n line soon this weekend
@auto_joe have you experienced any jolting or jerking around 2-3 rpms when accelerating? that's an issue i'm experiencing right now. i also got a fuel induction cleaning, hoping that would resolve that issue. I hope it's not a transmission problem
@@sison9162 well if you’re referring to the jolting you feel when giving it heavy throttle from a stop, that’s wheel spin. Otherwise, the only time I get any shifts that aren’t smooth it’s when my car is still cold. My advice would be to try to replicate it a few times then bring it to the dealer to show them. Try using the manual mode and see if you experience the same sensation at 2-3k rpm’s in each gear.
@@auto_joe you're not missing out, I have a 22 EN and it's been broken and having issues since last year. Service department twiddling their thumbs and nothing from corporate for 3 weeks already.
@@Specialist7 Oh wow really? What types of issues? I haven't heard of anyone having issues with theirs, then again I haven't really been on the forums.
I don’t keep up entirely with forums and what not but in my own anecdotal experience I’ve had none of those issues. There are also a lot of not so serious problems that flag an engine light. Definitely just do your homework and make the right car buying decision for your own needs. It never hurts to cross shop!
I change mine in my Elantra N every 3k, no matter what. I've always done that, and have my Genesis coupe up to 143k and runs fine. I also do that because I hear Hyundais warranty can be nightmares, so I didn't want to even chance it. Changing oil is cheaper than replacing engines
Hey Charles! The transmission hasn’t given me any trouble. It definitely isn’t as crisp as it was when I first bought it though. I also put a lot of wear on it, driving it at crawling speeds in traffic. However, it’s still holding up strong!
I have not yet. I’m not sure if I will or not. I have had a couple runs, pushing my car on empty backroads though. I would say that it handles at the limit just as you’d imagine for a FWD car with no limited slip differential
Pretty sure that $175 service was a rip off.. all they do is pour a bottle of fuel system cleaner in and because these are GDI engines the cleaner never cleans the top of the valves.. to remove carbon properly you would need the engine walnut blasted. They used a $10 bottle of cleaner and. Charged 175 seen it happen before
See I don’t know a lot about it and I won’t pretend I do. The way he described it as was that they would use the fuel system cleaner and hold the engine at high revs to blow the carbon out of the exhaust. I may be missing some details as that was a few weeks ago now
@Auto Joe oh OK in that case sounds like they sprayed it into the manifold.. which would work better than putting into the gas tank.. but still a $10 job you could easily do at home.. anyways love the car and glad ur maintaining it!
@@flavoredmoney8755 Haha yeah I LOVE cars but I don't enjoy doing my own maintenance. Maybe I would if I had my own garage but for now I just let my dealer do it. Thank you for your comments!
@@auto_joe i own a Elantra N, love the car, but wait a bit and see how these veloster motors do in these elantras. i had my valve spring go bad, in the dealership computer diagrams for the elantra N, the exhaust valve spring and solenoid dont exist. ive ran into some odd problems with the EN. amazing car though, just iffy and too new to know how reliable these are
Nice review! By the way, fuel injection service is unnecessary and just pure profit for the dealer. Just stick with whatever your owner's manual says to do.
A piece of butter per waffle is unnecessary. Severe amounts of butter per Eggo is 1 piece for 2 waffles. 2 pieces of butter is wasting calories for little to no gain.
Also, I am on the severe maintenance schedule provided by Hyundai. Not sure what you’re referencing. 3750 was and still is my mileage recommendation according to the manual, maintenance schedule, and my dealer.
@@auto_joe that’s wrong man, you’re spreading misinformation by saying the severe schedule is 3750 miles when it’s 5000. Check your manual / sources again.
Partially because of your videos, I traded in and I have financed a 2022 Elantra N-Line - pick up on Monday. Super excited, great car!
That’s awesome to hear! Good luck with the car!
How has it been since you had it?
How are those fuel injectors?

my horn also went out on my 2023 elantra. right around 40k mi

I don’t have an N line but I have a regular 2021 Elantra would you also recommend having the oil change at 3750 or is 7500 okay?
From my understanding, the manufacturer only recommends the 3750 intervals if you drive your car hard, otherwise 7500 should be fine!

How long was the Elantra at the dealership to get your horn fixed? Mine sounds real low and wimpy
Just a few hours. I roped it in with my oil change and just dropped it off that morning

If the car has more than 80 K or especially 100 K should make an update video or 100,000 miles video
