Looks like you went up shortly after me. Great place, first went there 40+ years ago as a base for a week long walking holiday. The wood burner is lovely and cosy.
Myself and a good friend camped next to this building a few years ago when it was closed and had scaffolding around it, id love to return and spend a night in it.
I recall staying here as a kid as part of a school trip (only 6 of us with two teachers) no road anywhere near it and i did wonder at the time who built it and how they got all the stuff up to that area to build it. was two kids to a room with sleeping bags and the teachers in the dining room for Saturday and Sunday. it was cold, wet, and a long walk back to a farm where the minibus was parked before going back to the school but will say it looks a lot better now that it did then hope the toilets are better too! This was also the place i found out the Scottish teacher put salt in everyone's porridge the monster.
Thats a cool story mate....and yeaa its all been restored and stuff by the members it feels like a proper house now nice and cosy and out the way of the mental mad world we live in
That lodge looks better condition then some houses in Siddick!
