- Join us as we sail to Irvington, Virginia on our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran LabMariner with our three labmaraners: Anubis, Mocha, and Nuala. A labmaraner is a cross between a labrador retriever and a weimaraner - and we have one of each color. If you haven't guessed, our boat, LabMariner, is named after our three labmaraners. On our way to Irvington, Virginia we pass under a bridge under sail and once we arrive we check out the town and a local winery. We also test out our new headsets when anchoring and pulling up the anchor.
RUclips is awesome but we are also on Instagram and Facebook. If you follow us on these platforms you will receive more up to date information on where we are!

Liked your pose on the tractor.
Dogs are incredible. Stephanie is even more incredible!
Thanks Nancy! Jim had a great time posing on the tractor.
LabMariner You are maritime professionals! I thought it was a professional, enthusiastic documentary! 👏
You left them on that is a common issue batteries good for 6 hours
Thanks for the information 😀!
Such fun!
Thanks for watching😀!
Nice review on the eartec headsets. How solid are they on your head if you bend over? My wife tends to lose things overboard and I didn’t want to spend the money to watch them sink....
They are pretty solid on the head - we haven't had them slip off yet. Just in case, we attached an adjustable lanyard to one of the headsets which cinches around the neck so if it did fall off it wouldn't go in the water.
Those headsets look super interesting. You mentioned about the issue with the battery. How long do they usually last you guys for a single continued use before the battery dies? 3-4 hours?
Hi Benji! We rarely use them for extended periods of time since we're generally only using them for docking and anchoring. We get 5-6 half hours uses by turning them off between uses. So, 3-4 hours sounds reasonable for a single continued use. Another bonus is that they charge really quickly.
We have found removing the batteries while not being used makes them last longer
Very true! We remove the batteries and recharge whenever we're not using the headsets.
It says that you should do that in the info sheet that comes with the gear today.
I just googled "wireless boat intercom system" and this showed up.
Still happy with your Eartec Ultralite Headsets?
Noticed the well chosen name on the wine. :D
How do you get your lovely dogs in and out of the dinghy?
We have a 100 lbs German Shepard boy that is very afraid of water, so it is a struggle!
Our cool Husky girl just jumps on command though.
And yeah, you got yourself a new subscriber.
Oh, well I bought a pack of four headsets anyway.
We just LOVE our Eartec Ultralite headsets! After 3 years, we still use them when anchoring and docking. Keeps us from screaming at each other and definitely keeps the tension down. Our blond girl Nuala didn't want to get into the dinghy at first and it took a little coaxing but now they all love feeling the wind in their fur and seeing all the exciting sights. They all love the water and our challenge is keeping them out of the water😀! With three that's a lot of dogs to wash 😛!

Thank you!
That was the answer I was hoping for!

We had a lovely labrador boy earlier and he loved water as any old seal would do!
Hey guys!
We Tried our new gear first time today.
The Mrs, that still needs to become more comfortable with our 37 ft motor yacht, was at the helm all the whole trip.
Our docking is made on the starboard side and it is very, very tight.
As a matter of fact the bow of our boat reach over the boat ahead by at least three feet.
But I was able to guide her in, standing on the swimming platform, to a perfect landing!
She complained that I was huffing a bit too much into the mike at times though...
This is indeed a game changer on our boat!
Thanks for the tip!
So glad it worked for you! And, great job with docking - docking is the most stressful thing that we do on our boat.
Background music is way too loud for me to easily hear what you're saying.
Thank you for the constructive criticism - it is definitely appreciated😀. This is a learning process for me and I'm open to any suggestions for improvement.
