    I just purchased 4 units. We race quite often and yelling just is not the way to go. Cool calm and collected produces much better outcomes all round. Thanks for the product recommendation.

    Just wanted to come back five months later to say thank you for putting us onto these! We are four days into owning our first catamaran (a Seawind 1160) and these have been invaluable in making out first docking and marina manoeuvring experiences so much less stressful. It was still scary because well we’re new, but these enabled my husband and I to work as a team even when things didn’t go to plan and to communicate calmly and collectedly

    We use the 10s for more than just our boat and they're awesome👌.
    We also use them while on our scooters exploring on shore and even while shopping. We split up in the grocery store and still keep in touch.

    • @OutChasingStars

      Exactly! Their use is only limited by your imagination. And there's a lot of imagination required in boat life!!

    When I first saw y'all using them, I told a few of the other sailing vlogs about them, I told them to watch your videos to see y'all using them. Thanks guys 👍👍🐾

    The new 2Talk headsets from Cruising Solutions are made by Sena, use all the same electronics as the SPH10s, but come packaged as a pair, along with a nice storage case, and at a significant discount to the SPH10s. Lighter, more comfortable, and more waterproof too. Also, no pairing required, because Cruising Solutions does it for you before sending them.

    Consider the 2Talk headsets from Cruising Solutions, also made by Sena with the exact same features, but way cheaper, ships for free, and they come with a nice carry case. More comfortable and more waterproof too!

    Thanks! Another use for these (that hand signals are less useful for) is when one person is up the mast and needs other tools, etc from the person down below.

      True! It's much more embarrassing when I have to shout and people around us realize just how many tools I forget when I'm trying to do a job. 😆

    So glad you did this video. Just about every sailor who uses headphones has Eartec Ultralite and we where about to buy the same for our boat. The fact that these are designed for outdoor sports has us leaning towards the SENA. Have you had a chance to compare the two brands? We are hoping to use the ones that turn and and be ready to use the quickest and easiest…in addition to being durable and easy to charge.

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  Год назад +1

      Haven't really compared the two. We've been pleased with the SENA and it only takes a few seconds to turn on/connect and we have great coverage anywhere on the boat. Even through the boat as well as we'll use the headsets if we're running wires or something else as well.

  • @kurt9854

    Per your suggestion, we have used them since we started cruising 2+ years ago and couldn't agree with you more. And to your point about yelling over wind, during our intitial briefing with new guests I tell them that I might be yelling but that I am NOT mad at them but just trying to be heard.

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  2 года назад

      I like the briefing plan. It'd give me a convenient excuse for yelling during the few times when I may WANT to yell at guests. 😆

    Thanks for the video Will order, Been looking at them....When Bending over are they Secure to your Head ? I am concerned about this, The other brand Has a Band over your Head Like the Flight Type and with a Baseball cap on they are Secured. Thanks

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  2 года назад +1

      We've never had a problem with them moving around or falling off. And I'm constantly bending up and down in the anchor locker! They naturally want to sit pretty tight around your head.

    Any problems using them while wearing (sun)glasses? Most of the over-ear headphones I have tried do not pair well with eyewear. Pro video! Thanks again for sharing!

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  2 года назад +1

      Not at all. There is a decent amount of flex with the headsets so I can adjust them to where they feel comfortable. But either way, we're not wearing them for very long.

    Hi, we inherited our 2 Sena headsets when we bought our boat and they seemed to work ok at first, but now one of the headsets doesn't hold a charge at all. We think it's fully charged and then go to anchor and it lasts about a minute before it dies. I am now trying to do a firmware update on them both and I get a message saying No Device Recognized... so in looking around the internet for troubleshooting tips, I ran into this video of yours, which I am sure we've watched before, but didn't realize at the time we'd be owning the same pair of headsets. Anyway, if any of our issues sound familiar and you know the fix, please let us know. Thanks!

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  Год назад

      Unfortunately, we haven't had similar issues or know of any potential fix. ☹ Hopefully you can figure out a firmware update and it's not just a dead battery.

    I have the waterproof UV9R radios. VHF, short wave, GMSR(outside the US or at your own risk) , a whole bunch of channels...10-12 mile range with VOX. $99US for a working pair of radios and headsets total.

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  2 года назад

      Interesting. Can you use them to have a normal conversation or is it more like a VHF where you can only transmit one at a time?

    • @allynonderdonk7577
      @allynonderdonk7577 2 года назад

      @@OutChasingStars It is one at a time. We say "over" sometimes when things get hectic...you can even get long whip antennas that you can unfold and get a lot more range. There are other models too that have higher output(watts), but are more expensive and often not waterproof.

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  2 года назад

      There's always so many different ways to do things on a boat! Being able to converse normally is a requirement for us, but I'd definitely go the radio route before relying on shouting.

      As with most things on boats it seems there is always an easy (more expensive) and a hard (requiring more technical knowledge) way! 😃

    David, another good video. Glad I watched to the end. When you said they were using Bluetooth 3 I was like..WTF?...that typically only gives about 33-200 foot range. Not to mention like 10 year old standard. Then you mentioned like a 900 METERS (2700 feet). I was like..huh?. Anyway, guess they don't NEED to update to BT 5.0.
    Thanks again

    • @OutChasingStars
      @OutChasingStars  2 года назад +1

      Well, SENA does have other headsets that can be used even further away, but we don't want to venture into overkill mode now do we? 😂

  • @lutacrew

    We purchased them. Horrible customer support. No manual. More RUclips for pairing 3-4 units, or link to phone, or link to music or share music. But nothing on company web site or RUclips on set up instructions. Wish I’d never bought them. I see loads of people using them.
