- a slow day of no lambing on Friday...
but I did get to use my milk machine on a ewe with a low udder who needed some milk let out so her lambs could latch on!
Saturday turned out to be a brute.
Two mamas, one in labour but trying to steal...
Turns out she had quads!!
Sunday started out with a bang as I was met with way too many stillborns than I'm comfortable with...
It seems weird, but wondering if I could be battling a wee bit of Cache Valley again... more in the next video.

I know having a flock can be quite expensive. Vets are pricey too. I commend you for the way you invent ways to care for your babies that are workable and successful, such as your homemade "braces!" You are amazing. I'm sorry you lost so many in today's lambing. That is always heartbreaking. It was great to see Matty today jumping and playing! Thank you for sharing. Love you 😘
Lucy tries so hard, she's so cute. Double heart just cracks me up following you around and head-butting us to say Hi! #30 looked like he/she was ready to fly away in the scale sling. No matter what my day is like, being in the virtual barn always makes me feel hope, even with it's disappointments❣

She felt relief after the udder tap off. She did not resist when you tapped off the second teats. It’s amazing to see how quickly they learn that you are there to help and not harm them.

Matty is too cute for words. Such a happy little guy, and definitely isn't camera shy. Glad to know that so many ewes had triplets. It doesn't help the emotional loss caused by the stillborns, but helps make up for the physical loss. Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us.
It sounds like a day of pretty bad lamb mortality. I hope you can revive the little billy and its sibling! Im praying for success and for no more lamb death.

Sandi , I thought this would make you smile being that the lambing losses can be tough. One of my part time bottle lambs got out of the paddock this morning ....his name is Rumpus. He normally comes to me when I call, but he was feeling the freedom of being beyond the fence and mom. So I had to bring my Corgi out to help me get him back in.....but because Rumpus is the smallest and youngest lamb, my Corgi Zorra thought he was a puppy. Needless to say She play bowed and rumpus gambled and it took twice as long for me to catch him. Zorra was not much help.
Were you able to get a video of that cuteness? I'm glad that it made you happy even though it made it more difficult to get that little one back with Mom.

My heart broke every time there was another still born or too small to survive. Sandi know that you are outstanding in your love, care & tenacity to give them every opportunity to make it. And watching the little one bouncing & jumping around, makes my heart sing.

Wow - I remember reading a couple vlogs ago, that the adorable red and white sweater was originally planned for Miss Lucy - boy, has it been busy! You need a few more - a blue and white, a green and white, a yellow and white, and perhaps a couple others. It seems to really help keep those preemie teeny tiny lambs warm - plus, it’s absolutely adorable and guaranteed to cause smiles and joy🐑❤️😊
Maybe that place that makes the kits from her wool could come up with one to make those little sweaters. That would be cool. Wool on wool. 🐑☺
My shipment of the shamrock dryer balls arrived. I am so happy with them. The fact that there are straw pieces and some of the paint color (purple n green) from their numbers on them make the balls so special. I am going to hang them up in my laundry room.

This might seem like a small thing in light of the day you had, but I want to thank you for something you do that I find a lot of (most) other YT people don't. Thank you for letting us know what the day is that you're recording. And when it's a video of several days, for letting us know that is a new day. I find it so much easier to follow the progression of events when you've made a point to let us know when things happened

I have an unrelated question for Mark and yourself. I know that many of your crops are contracted but, being what things are currently in Ukraine are your planting plans changing any for this year to maximize the market prices for the shortages that this conflict is sure to cause? I would also like to know your opinion as to what you think the Canadian Government could do to assist farmers with the current price of fuel and fertilizer. Would a fuel tax moratorium be the way to maximize production?
If they are contracted, they might not be able to do as you suggested. Maybe Sandy will be able to give you an answer soon. Take care.

Hello Sandi! Love the lamb in a bag idea! We are bottle feeding 37 lambs now from a neighbor sheep producer and we tried your idea! It worked!!! We would get them from cold to the touch to thriving and doing great! LOVED Mattys zoomies!!🥰 We are thick into calving now! We also have had stillborns! So sad!! 😢Thank you!
