I tried fable, but I can't use it until they add a real dark mode to the whole app. I don't want to have to tint or change my entire phone screen just to use one app when Storygraph is right there
Fable is the holy grail. I’ve been in love with since I found it in early 2024. I’ve never engaged with the community nearly as much or had this much motivation.
Thank you! I just joined fable and it gave me a TON of book recommendations that look like they just fit me so well. Their book lists are fantastic! I’m probably going to delete goodreads. ❤😅
Does Bookwise allow you to add books that are not included on their app? I tried Fable and the book The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison is not available for me to add under the "Want to Read" category. Thank you.
Yes, you can add custom books to Bookwise! I’ve done it before-just enter the details yourself and even upload a cover. It’s super handy for books that aren’t already in the app.

I am a big fan of book track. Even it‘s not soo cheap it‘s worth it for me a lot. Love this app and it‘s regularly updated with new functions that users had asked for.
Beyond the initial setup, does it continue to update itself alongside Goodreads? I want to use it just for the book club spoiler free but I use the want to read and read on Goodreads.
if you mean fable, no, it doesn’t. the syncing it’s only so you can add your reading history. after that it’s just fable and you have to upload the reads like you would do on any other app :)
The only problem I have with fable is that there is no statistic on how many pages youve read on a certain day you can only enter IF you read not how much
The feature to track pages is there in the app. When you click I read today , it will show a track progress button under it . There you can enter the total number of pages and the number of pages you have read.
I started out with goodreads and have the most friends on there. Then a friend told me about story graph and I joined it. But I'm not sure it's for me. I just downloaded fable because it sounds amazing. I also followed you and joined the book club.
I’ve been using Fable for a few months and I really love some aspects of it. Especially day tracking and year tracking, but my biggest problem is it doesn’t have some of the books I read so I can’t fully commit yet.
This is EXACTLY what I just shared. I have a bookcase full of books. Before I buy anymore n=books,I want to read the ones I have first. I thought Fable would would be a great want to help with them but the majority of my books are now available on Fable, and like you , I will need to delete the app and try to find something else.
I love Fable’s interface-it looks pretty sleek and elegant, but the app doesn’t have the info two books I read this month so I can’t log them, and there’s no option to add the info myself 😢
I would compare it to the Kindle App. You can download e-books in the app and read them there. You can also annotate the books there. So, like your own eReader 💕
Heads up to my fellow movie lovers, Viv misspoke when talking about Fable. It's not also for movies, it's for TV series unfortunately. Hope they eventually add movies
@@Vivslittlelibrary hey we have libby in germany! I also didn't know that since my town library didn't tell me but you can use/download libby and inside libby I was able to chose an online library that is working with my town library together (Nordleihe) and then I can read them there! I just had to log in with my town libary log in data and that was it! Maybe that is something for you :)
I have books that I would like to include on the Fable App under "Wants to Read" and when I search, none of them are available on the app. This means ONLY the books on the app are able to be added. If I have Audible books, I am unable to add as well. This functionality is NOT HELPFUL and the app, for me will need to be deleted. I should be allowed to include books in MY bookcase. I would much prefer to have to freedom to add ALL BOOKS instead of having the detail options of plot design, characters, etc. Thanks for sharing your review of the app.
Yeah, I can see how that can frustrate you... But one of the other apps might work for you... As I said, this is just the one that works best for me and my reading habits.☺️
I was already using bookshelf, but not to rate my books but to be able to look at my bookshelf at home and figure out if I already own the book or edition. And it was great for that, but to track my read books and thoughts I don’t really think it’s that good since it’s very much bare bones and focuses on the books and editions you own.
Thanks for this review. I have a question - should I be using this app on my phone or can I use it on my computer? I am trying to see how to add book via the app on my computer and not seeing it. That is why I am asking about is it best to use my phone? Thanks
I tried Fable, but I didn't like it. I couldn't update page numbers read like I can with Goodreads and Storygraph. Also, it was nearly impossible for me to do star ratings on books that I had finished. I think I'll stick with Goodreads and Storygraph.
Fable looks nice but I wonder how many books are not there. I couldn't find the book I'm reading right now and it's really popular and was released like 1 year ago ( Of war and Ruin by Ryan Cahill) so my first impression is not that great. It's a shame because I really like the look of the app otherwise.
I don't read that many books, but I remember everything I have read thus far. But if you're reading a 1000 books year, a tracker probably is essential. I like your review of the different trackers and maybe when I get to that point that I can't remember what I've read, I'll hopefully find a tracker that works for me.
I joined Fable after seeing a thread post while ago & I LOVE IT. It even has TV shows section, which is my other hobby, so it's a 2 in 1 deal
yeah, it's just so perfect for that ☺️💕

Very informative video. I joined Fable a few weeks ago and really like it. Have just stared following you. I’ll now find your book club and join 😊
I’m still not sure what book to go with but I feel like we can all come up with one together☺️ and I am super excited 💕
@ yes looking forward to reading together 😊

Couldn't agree more! It’s really great☺️
Story Graph is my favorite!!!!!
The statistics in that one are unmatched☺️
MIne too
the issue there is that I don't find any Bangla book
"there's a social aspect but you need friends for that" 😂 I didn't come here to be attacked
Yeah I kind of also attacked myself because I also don’t really have people to add in an app like that😂
Thank you so much Fable is my dream. I love their app and its free 😊
Mine too! I really like it💕
Can you make a playlist of these videos? I'd love to share it with my online book clubs!
Hi I just made one for you ☺️

I loved Bookwise! It’s been so helpful for tracking my reading and keeping me organized.

That is really great… I love when they actually want to improve their app☺️
Beyond the initial setup, does it continue to update itself alongside Goodreads? I want to use it just for the book club spoiler free but I use the want to read and read on Goodreads.
I would assume that you could just press the goodreads upload button again. But I don’t think it updates on its own…😬☺️

Sounds perfect☺️

Goodreads gets a lot of hate but do any of the other apps link to public library to show availability/allow checkout?
Ohh I have no Idea since my country doesn’t support that feature… so it’s the same to me😬

Also no Libby in Germany as far as I know...😬

What I don't like about fable is that the covers look very ugly. Some of the covers are just pictures of an actual book that someone took
Yeah I get that. I feel like that could get better though.
Can you import from Storygraph?
I haven’t tried it… mostly since I don’t use StoryGraph, I’m sorry😬
From what I've heard, you can't
