This hindi remake misses so many marks and so many unwritten story details. In Telugu version bot father's names were Valmiki and Ram. So Valmiki tries to write a story for Ram (and fails). Bantu means 'servant' in telugu. So hindi equivalent must be Daas or Ghulam. Valmiki, as an act of revenge, tries to name his (switched) son servant (as in servant of the OG son). But in Hindi version Bantu loses its meaning altogether. Tabu was named Yashoda (and like Yashoda mayya, she raises a son who is not her own)
That whole movie has many mythological connections. which were failed to get translated/transferred to hindi version.
Telugu version's 4th wall breaking humor and being a self-aware film elevates it a level above. While hindi version falls flat on its face from many levels above.

I think its wrong to say Shehzada is remake of Telegu movie, story line is quite similar to 1958 Movie Parvarish and 1975 movie Dharam Karam.

this may have been a remake of Telugu movie but from the story description it appears like the movies made from the 1950's to 1990's. This swapped at birth theme is outdated.
