This is so amazingly well explained. It gives a short simple overview of what a BMS is and how it works without compromising on any vital information. Very well done
Thank you. One question please, when the BMS terminates charge or discharge states, in a cell, do the other cells, combined, continue functioning at a lower capacity? Or does the system just shut down as a result of that 1 bad cell? I'm sorta new at this. Thanks again.
I have a question. does a battery pack need the circuit board, IF on each "charging" each cell is removed and individually charged, to the same compacity. Then allowed to rest. And the position in the pack is rotated for each use?
Hi Erik, when the battery pack is not on a load (not connecting to any appliance or device) or even charging, will the BMS be still working automatically to balance the cells ? the cells will discharge themselves over time, not sure if the BMS still detect the pack and start balancing according to the cell parameter. Thanks !
My 17s battery pack is not charging above 69v I have series 13s and 4s bms There is a bit of unbalance in the cells about ± 0.05 volts Also the bms cuts the power at only at 61 volts about 3.56 per cell Please 🙏 tell me the reason so I can repair it (About two times the positive and negative terminal also get short fow a few second with bms installed)
Question. I have a 4s 12p pack with a BMS. Here is my question. If I connect the leads to each row (4) they monater each row but what each call on each row. There no way they are checked,Right. Thank you
Hi, I have a left over 48 volts BMS and charger from an E-bike. And I wanna use the 58 Volt charger to charge a 24 Volt 18650 battery pack. Can I use half of the BMS to charge the smaller Battery pack???
I want to charge 12V lithium phosphate battery with a charger or power supply especially fast charge with 100Amps that can take energy from Mains supply. How to select my power supply ?
Thank you for your video. Great explanation for how a bms works. I am wanting to learn how to test a battery pack that won't take a charge. Is it a bad battery or a bad bms? Can the bms be bypassed to see if the batteries in the pack will charge directly?
So if i were to replace a battery woth a max charge Voltage of 8.8v with one that has a max charge voltage of 8.4 the BMS would basiclly think the battery is older and not overchage it?
I am an engineering student from India. i am looking for a proper BMS and also the most reliable battery that my team NIRMAAN HYPERLOOP can use in our boring machine and the hyperloop pod, if you could help us with your knowledge on thus, it would be great. thank you
this was a well presented explanation and i greatly appreciate it. i do have a question. can the leads of the BMS be connected to the plus or minus on the batteries. the info i have it should be the plus side. however overkill BMS is using some plus and some minus connection. do u have some inside? thanks for ur time
I'm very new to ebikes. If you have 10 seconds I have a quick question sir; if someone was running 2 hub motors and their combined max current from the controllers was 60 amps, and you used a battery with 50amp BMS (52v 20ah), what would happen? If you ran WOT you may trip the BMS of the battery and it come back on after a few seconds? Or something worse? Thank you!
Sir I have a question I have li ion battery pack with making it basic bms which is comes from chine In this battery pack I tested on aging machine it is goes upper voltage 39 volt to sharp 54 volt when I charging my battery pack having nominal voltage is 36v/10ah what is the reasion behind it
Howdy S-S, ... any RECOMMENDATIONS for a 48 Volt BMS brand Name ? you mean to say monitoring the cell or battery if its charging the wire for cell b1 b2 b3 just monitoring only not charging the charging come from negative and positive and the other 3 wire b1b2 b3 just monitoring the voltage when charging
justin trudeau is clearly a man of many talents.
Yes, but this look alike sells bMs, rather than plain BS.
I was about to say that 😅😂😂😂

Thanks for the clear explanation, it turned out very helpful for my thesis!
Dear eriik,
Thanks for the simple and clear explanation, well done 👍
Very simple to introduce the BMS. Great presentation !!
What a great way to explain to a beginner. The concept is very clear with this presentation and will help understanding the next levels. Thank you Sir
Easy to understand presentation. Well done Erik.
Great video. I love the use of the whiteboard, very clean!
Simple explanation but powerful. 🙏
Excellent video. Thank you.
Thanks for the clear explanation, your work appreciated
Finally someone else who explains this
Thanks for doing a great job of explaining what the BMS in a battery pack does.
this is the best explanation on bms....
Great presentation. Very articulate clean.
Great , thanks for this , clear classes
We are building our EV Motorcycle.. we need this. Educational.
Very good presentation, thank you sir.
Excellently explained
Thank you! Very Helpful
Dear Mr. Eric,
Thanks for presentation, your video is very simple and effective about BMS.
Totally agree
Very informative
Great presentation ,
Really good vídeo :)

Wonderful video sir
Good explanation. How does one bypass a BMS and charge a low cell via current controlled power supply at say 20% of the Ah rating rated current.
I have a question. does a battery pack need the circuit board, IF on each "charging" each cell is removed and individually charged, to the same compacity. Then allowed to rest. And the position in the pack is rotated for each use?
Thanks a lot
Thank you
Hello, How to solve cell unbalance? Is there any relevant introduction in this regard?
Hi Erik, when the battery pack is not on a load (not connecting to any appliance or device) or even charging, will the BMS be still working automatically to balance the cells ? the cells will discharge themselves over time, not sure if the BMS still detect the pack and start balancing according to the cell parameter. Hi
Can u tell me how to decide what should be balancing current according to the capacity of the cells?
Very clear, thanks a lot!
Very good explanation sir
great explanation
very nice and informative
Usually master disconnect possible at negative side
Question. I have a 4s 12p pack with a BMS. Here is my question. If I connect the leads to each row (4) they monater each row but what each call on each row. There no way they are checked,Right. Thank you
Nice information
Thanks
Hello sir please make playlist 👍

Sir please explain about DCDC/ESC converter.
I want to charge 12V lithium phosphate battery with a charger or power supply especially fast charge with 100Amps that can take energy from Mains supply.
How to select my power supply ?
Hi Erik, great videos!
Can you also explain how an I²t counter works? I understand it is like a bucket that fills up. How does it empty itself?
does the BMS limit what the battery pack's max pulse draw is or is it separate?
Thank you for your video. Great explanation for how a bms works. I am wanting to learn how to test a battery pack that won't take a charge. Is it a bad battery or a bad bms? Can the bms be bypassed to see if the batteries in the pack will charge directly?

I'm rebuilding a 15s2p battery pack, can I replace the original 30 amp bms with a 60 amp bms? Thank yu
Is there a BMS 16S in your plan for LifePo cells for HV battery design?
Why are the outputs based on algorithmic averages as you have stated, and not actual readings?
why is there a 400-500% price difference when we go from cell to pack level?

This doesn’t answer the most important questions I have about a BMS
you mean to say monitoring the cell or battery if its charging the wire for cell b1 b2 b3 just monitoring only not charging the charging come from negative and positive and the other 3 wire b1b2 b3 just monitoring the voltage when charging
Things wouldn't exist without electronics
Can I connect the battery directly to the hover board, bypassing the BMS?
Very Nice Explanation. Lots of information. Please do more videos
