Agreed. You can e.g. put the time of the launch below the "Launch" text. Also, I'm sure you have seen the SpaceX missions. It would be awesome to have a timer similar to that one on your videos after launch.
Tip: Liquid engines on the side instead of a shit ton of solid fuel boosters around a mammoth are more efficient. Engines with low power are more fuel efficient. When taking off kerbin, do it in a more aggressive angle. Don’t fly at 90 degrees straight at the mun. Don’t make rockets heavy if your payload is small, make your rockets as compact as possible. Think about the weight of rocket in that way “how much do I have to lift? 80 tons of dead weight to duna? Well, time to make twin towers a children’s playground” “how much do I have to lift? 10 tons? We should something simple, something you can do in career mode” I hope I helped. That’s what I struggled with, anyway.
Yeah, I’ve sent an unmanned science lander to the Mun, and that’s it. Edit: Next, I’m going to send a prototype manned lander with a drone core. It won’t be manned, but I’ll attempt to get a habitable lander to the Mun and back.
I love the progress bar. Sometimes I don't have a ton of time, but still want to watch a Matt Lowne video. Being able to skip ahead without skipping the entire build is a really nice thing. I've never downloaded one of your craft files, but I have modeled some builds after yours so watching the build and being able to hop around within it is very useful to me.
I know this comment is 5 years old but same, I never use the craft file but often look at how matt has designed a craft to see roughly how to do things while I make my own and the progress bar helps so much
Matt, in your next science play through you should set yourself the challenge of having to account for things like bone and muscle loss on long missions to other planets, that would be really cool so if you read this please do so!
I Know Buut His Missions Are Very Long Like The Mission To Eeloo Took 180-189 Days Also How do You Sustain Them Like How Gravity Rings? Like How But Honestly I Like Your Idea Cyan!
Challenge: - Land an SSTO on the mun and get back to Kerbin. You may land on other/further away planets if you wish to make it more challenging. - You are not allowed to use landing gear of any kind apart from landing legs. - This SSTO has both forward and backwards engines. The max forwards thrust is equal to the max backwards thrust. - The SSTO is allowed to have a VTOL feature(optional), but it must be launched from the runway. You don't have to accelerate forward to take off from the ground. - You can add anything onto it to make it more impressive. This is your own choice. Have fun and good luck.
Hey, I love your build time lapse progress bar. I always watch your builds anyway, but it's just satisfying to be able to see the progress, it kind of gives me an idea of how big or complex the build is going to be, since I can see when it'll be done. Not that it matters, per se, but it's a nice touch for me.
I really like the progress bar. The time lapses are nice, but knowing that they are close to the end is really nice if I want to jump forward to halfway done with the build portion
the surface features from breaking ground shows up much sooner than the scatter or any other features, so with draw distance on max you can see them pop up on the horizon (accounting for hills obviously) while you have to before close for the scatter to show up
Ryan Voll you can google “ksp delta v map” and as long as you are playing a later version of the game (or with KER) you can use that to calculate the 🔺V usage. Alternatively, you can just completely over-engineer the craft like Matt!
I really like watching you build stuff, but i think that you providing either a timestamp or graph to where to skip too is also really good. it gives people options.
Nice landing on Kerbin, really fun rapid disassemble 😁 I really like the timeline, so i know for how long the build will go, as i always watch that part. Although i would love to see it be more fancy, may be a little bit more graphically appealing (may be too much appealing would be better). Something stylish and you know, with glitter may be. Thanks, as always great work!
Thank you Mr Lowne. For although I am a very crap KSP player (I still struggle to get a decent circularized orbit), your video's get me through my frustrations and make keep wanting to strive forward and one day be able to create something awesome like your builds
I only noticed the progress bar after you'd mentioned it. But then, I always watch the timelapses anyway xD I only wish the timelapses were played back a little slower (or maybe uploaded as a seperate vid) so I can figure out how certain things are done. Great video as always
I always watch the timelapse, otherwise I'd miss your commentary But I would say a progress bar that said something like Build 0:00 Launch 4:00 With the progress bar like what you did here
I only like watching the rover builds. Keep the progress bar, it looks nice, but leave a timestamp in the description. That way I can easily skip. Edit: spelling

What you’ve should’ve done is have a kerbal just hang on to the ladder outside the ladder so you could bring two to the surface
I really like the progress bar. The time lapses are nice, but knowing that they are close to the end is really nice if I want to jump forward to halfway done with the build portion
the KSP youtubers that leave the craft file in the description are the ones that are a lot more better than a lot of the others that dont.
I watch the time lapse, and actually really enjoy seeing how it is built, but I do also like the progress bar
Watching a Matt Lowne KSP video without the building is like ordering a BLT without the bacon.
I prefer neither because why would someone skip a part of your videos
the surface features from breaking ground shows up much sooner than the scatter or any other features, so with draw distance on max you can see them pop up on the horizon (accounting for hills obviously) while you have to before close for the scatter to show up
How do you know how much fuel to take for these missions?

CosmicCookie24 Thank you
Or use kerbal engineer readouts
@Jackson Gaming yeah that’s what CosmicCookie24 said. KER stands for kerbal engineer redux
I enjoy seeing the build, it's cool how you're always able to make unique ships for every mission
I think the most impressive thing about you is that you somehow manage to keep all the main kerbals alive
Matt maybe you could have some more time codes for different parts of the missions? (LKO, Transfer, other orbit, landing, deploying)
I like how committed you are to making your videos enjoyable. Keep up the good work
You never cease astounding me with your rocket & rover builds.
I really like watching you build stuff, but i think that you providing either a timestamp or graph to where to skip too is also really good. it gives people options.

I like having the Progress bar and the Time Stamp, bc the Progress bar gives us an idea how much more time we have but it doesnt say when its done

Love the progress bar! Thanks for adding the builds again! Keep up the great work Matt!

The progress bar was a good addition.

I usually watch the timelapse, but I think having the end time right by the end of the progress bar would look good
I think the progress bar is a really nice addition to your already awesome videos! Great vid man!
I prefer the progress bar but usually I watch the full video. Thank you for putting up such high quality and inspiring videos.
