that "can you explain why I always want to cry" I felt it deep inside my heart. I didn't cry when they announced the military news, but then this song made me ball my eyes out. I think it's a combination of the song, of how melancholic it sounds, the love we know Jin has for it and for us, and also the context on which it was written. I just love Jin and everyone involved for making a song that feels like a warm hug from an old friend.

I thought it is only me feeling this way. didn't know there're so many out there sharing the same feelings as I do. I always cry or almost abt to when I listen to this song (not the bawling out style but the tears fell silently and just WONT STOP). On one side I can feel the comfort that jin and coldplay were spreading through the song. But on the other hand, there's just a huge splash of loneliness, void and sadness that jumps into the frame of my mind. Knowing that one cannot simply experience hope and happiness of life without experiencing the other side strongly too just draw tears out of me. PLUS knowing that jin is/was experiencing these kind of emotions makes the final straw

I’ve stopped consuming bts’ content for like a year now because of school and when I heard about the announcement about the enlistment and hiatus, I found myself avoiding them all the more and thru this video is my first time listening to astronaut 🥲 I sobbed so hard uncontrollably, been an army since 2017 and this literally described what I’m feeling rn
It sounds so tender. And it makes me feel like Jin wanted that exact emotion to come across to us😢😢😢
Jin's vocals and Coldplay vibes made this song 100% perfect. So calming and energetic at the same time. It's a masterpiece

Every time I listen to this song and Jin sings “I Love You” I tear up. It’s just so emotionally done overall. This is an amazing and honestly kind of unexpected song and I love it

it's amazing how emotionally loaded colplay's songs are in general and now coupled with jin's heaven-like vocals it did hit pretty hard like it's a given for me to tear up or fully cry every time the astronaut plays 😭 will playing the chords on the piano made me yearn for an acoustic version bc it added more of that nostalgic feels to it :(

I felt so warm and fuzzy watching the MV, but the live performance... man, I made it until "And I love you" and then it got me lmao, I don't know what it is, maybe just him belting that line so passionately but it brings tears to my eyes
As ever it was enjoyable to see the musical breakdown and analysis of 💜 this lovely song. But I never expected the amazingly touching reaction and descriptions with adjectives such as “upward-reaching” and “patient”. I found myself nodding enthusiastically often.

Jin voice evoke that emotional-deep reassurance feeling, combine it with Coldplay essence you got this masterpiece. Love your reaction and insight from producer’s standpoint. Very details! And the back and forth clarification/QAs, very interactive. On your own time, I would also suggest to watch the live performance that Jin did in Coldplay Argentina concert alongside Chris intro speech. It is so beautiful and endearing. Chris said The Astronaut is one of their best song and they have decided to give it to Jin (whom they are very protective with).
