Jin explained this in the livestream he did for the song's release: Chris Martin wrote lyrics in English and sent a demo to Jin. He asked Jin to write the first verse in Korean, then liked the sound so much that he asked Jin to write the second verse in Korean as well. They're not translations of Chris Martin's lyrics at all; they're original Korean lyrics from Jin.
Jin wrote most of his solo songs and it's always beautiful :)

Actually I'm surprised you were not expecting this sound from Jin because personally this WAS something I was expecting. His voice is just made for pop-rock songs like this and that's why I wanted him to collab with Coldplay so bad.
Also you got it on first glance omg, yes the little girl was supposed to represent armys. Jin is an astronaut who crash landed on earth and became friends with that girl. At first he was excited to go to his planet since his ship got repaired but then he realized that his true home is with that girl on earth and decided to stay. In short it's Jin saying his home is armys and BTS (some small objects loved by the other members were placed in his room) and he will always come back to them.

What surprised me the most was just how wonderful of an actor Jin is. I felt everything in my heart. all by watching his face. plus the little bit of action, like flipping the polaroid to dry it much faster, being lead around in almost a trance of experiencing new things. Breaking that fourth wall and remaining in character.
He didn’t major in Performing Arts for nothing 😂 he was amazing in the Japanese MV for Blood, Sweat & Tears (the scene with V)
Ah yes, he majored in Film studies, and in animation too! The Konkuk universitry really has low accepting rates which he cleared in a go and people came to look who was the one that passed. He has indeed talent for acting

Jin has a classic tone to his voice which makes him very versatile as a singer. I love his lower register, which is very warm, reasonant and carries a lot of emotion. I'd like to see him develop and show more of himself in the future. I hope he can find time to practice while he is stationed.

His voice is a nurtured voice, but he develop it so he have such quality that can’t be replaced. The warm tone, classic feel, calming vibration. Who thought this is the voice from a guy who is scouted for his looks. It give me perception that if I nurture myself, keep doing my lessons diligently, I will reach certain results. He give me so much strength and inspiration.
ps: when I said his voice is nurtured, by all means I don’t say that he have no/less singing talent. There are singer who basically have gem in their raw voice, ie Barbara Streissand, Beyonce. But there are other person that they have less impact about their singing voice but get so much better with training and lessons.

I love the 7 boys but in my own opinion Jin is the one who has a rock star vibe , I remember at AMA performance of my universe even he has a liitle part his voice stands out ,even in Fake Love he got this amazing voice .

In his livestream, Jin said Chris/Coldplay wrote the song and sent it to him. Chris felt the 1st verse should be in Korean, so Jin wrote that. And then a day or two before Jin was set to film the music video, Chris was double checking the song and felt that the 2nd verse should be in korean too, so Jin wrote that quickly and sent it back to Chris for confirmation before filming started. So they did write and work on it together.
Hello, I felt the same when I saw this video of Jin, it's a see you later, but you have to see Jin's presentation with Coldplay in Argentina, that moment was beautiful.

Thank you for the reaction! Love seeing people appreciate Jin. I love Jin's mid-low range and always wanted to hear more. His voice evokes emotions. I would love to see more rock songs from him. It's one of his favorite genres (CP is one of his favorite bands). His acting skills also shined in this. Jin is an idea bank. I'm excited for his future projects.
I think that's the beauty of the music that's being created right now. Music has always been about feeling, but more so now than ever songs are really getting right into the feels. This one made me cry.
Also, I understood it as he came in on that ship, crash landed here on earth, and had to create a life for himself here until his ship was repaired and he could go home, but that his found family here was so strong that he decided to stay.
My first time hearing the song was the live version and I had straight tears. Jin is not my bias but this song has so much emotion and heart in it since it is his love letter to ARMY that I just couldn't hold back the tears. I know this is hard for him and I know he has been wondering all year how things were going to go with the service to the country just as much as we have. It is like the first time I heard BTS cover Fix You by Coldplay... it had so much more meaning with how the boys feel about us, the fans. I couldn't stop the tears then, either. I am so glad he got to give this to us as his gift, even if I won't be able to put it on a playlist without tears each time I hear it.

Another overlooked "BTS" collaboration is Suga's featured performance and producer in the Psy That That song!!! Funny note, Psy released Gangnam Style in 2012, and paved the way for Kpop globally. That That comes 10 years later, with Suga of BTS, a global phenomena!

Gone for 18 months on a new journey. Alone but not really alone u know because army is everywhere! i love it. Did u see Coldplay live with Jin in cinemas? i went with my HS pal and an army moot on twt. it was fun. Jin slayed his 1st solo debut. Coldplay background vocals were sweet. The story of this MV is that Jin is an astronaut from outer world, and while traveling through the universe landed on Earth due to a broken spaceship. He was living on Earth waiting for his spaceship to be fixed so he can return to space. In the meantime he meets and creates a valuable relationship with the little girl (Army), who teaches him things, and in return, he helps Army to ride her bike (and be on her own). When his people finally come to get him on Earth, he excitedly runs and bicycles to the spaceship. Then, he realizes at the end that instead of returning to space, he wants to stay on Earth to be with his Army.💜

For those who didn't understand the story in the Mv
Jin is a alien in this mv who has lost his way and came to earth but he can't go back to his home because the spaceship is broken so he spends his time on earth hoping that one day someone will repair that spaceship and he will go back home until then he spends his time with a little girl ( Army) and made memories with her and one day he saw on the news that someone saw a mysterious light from that place he decides to leave earth and he gives is helmet to that girl ( its like telling army and members take care of yourself i hope you will be fine by yourself now ) and when he reaches the place to leave earth he realises that "This was his home all along" where he has people who love him and cherish him "WE ARE HIS HOME HIS FAMILY WHO BROUGHT LIGHT INTO HIS DARKNESS" and he rushed back to that Little girl and hops on the first ride he could get to reach his newly founded home✨ you can see the smile of relief on his face in the last scene that means he has found his home and he is happy now and at last he fills FAMILY in crossword puzzle and smiles to the camera it's like tell us that we are his family and he will come back to us because We are his home.

I really loved your reaction to this beautiful song. So cool to see you get emotional and acknowledge how you have changed with getting to know BTS better. We all feel the same. I have only been an ARMY the last three years and regret so much not knowing them from their debut. I will be 72 in two days and had the attitude that their music was not for me. What a huge loss for me. But many say we find BTS when we need them… I’m grateful to have them in my life now.
Jin had a tattoo on his neck that was in Braille and said ARMY in braille. Also the black blocks on the crossword spelled FOR ARMY in braille. Each of the words completed on the crossword were intentional as well

There are sooo many details in this MV that mostly only armys will be able to notice/understand and here are a few that really stands out. I hope it helps you guys understand why it is such an emotional one for the fandom.
- There are many other BTS MVs where they used a small girl to represent the fandom so the girl here represents the fandom, ARMY.
- She's wearing a purple helmet in a later shot(purple is the official colour of the fandom) It was black first because purple was never a special colour to the fandom until after a few years of their debut when Taehyung gave it a meaning. So it kind of signifies and captures a small detail of the timeline of BTS and ARMY, in a sense.
- They chose a girl who is around 9-10 years old because it's the same as ARMYS age; the fandom was formed around 10 years back.
-If you look closely there is a braille tattoo on his neck and it reads "ARMY"
- The suit Jin wears at the beginning of the MV resembles the one he wore to the first day of school in real life (there is a photo of 4-year-old him wearing a suit that looks exactly like that) The kid's drawing on the wall shows him wearing the same suit once again. It's basically to show his past and innocence, reminiscence of his lyrics from "Yet to come": "Somewhere deep inside your heart, there still lives a young boy"
- Chris Martin makes a cameo in the MV as the news reporter reading the news
- The blackened-out spaces on the crossword (in braille) reads "For ARMY"
- The guitar you see in his room is the same guitar Chris Martin signed and gifted Jin when they met.
- If you notice when he was on the street people ignored him but the "astronaut" caught his attention. Jin was cast on the streets randomly by a Bighit staff who saw him get off the bus. He never intended to be a kpop-idol and never auditioned. So the astronaut here could represent the company itself who found him literally on the street one day.
- The shot of his room has elements that represent all BTS members - Books = Namjoon, Guitar = Yoongi, Instant camera = Jhope, Flowerpot (like his "serendipity" bubble) = Jimin, Vinyl player/Boston bag= Taehyung, Speaker/Radio = Jungkook) They're all there, close to him.
- The pickup truck has a lot of meaning because it has appeared in many of their past MV that's connected to the BU ( Love Yourself Highlight reels, the HYYH era) In those MVs, it was Jin who used to drive the boys around in a black pick up truck ; it symbolises the time they cherished together and their memories. In this case, it was a pick up truck (reminiscence of the ones in their MV) that finally stopped and took him "home"
In a way, Jin was like a lost astronaut that happened to crash land on earth which was unfamiliar to him just like how he ended up as a part of BTS without ever dreaming for such a path. It was unfamiliar and he was unsure about it (that was the reason why he had a stoic expression most of the time) until he met the little girl (army) who cherished him and to whom he taught things only to realise later how they both made each other happy. He realised home was where his "family" is ; his family comprising of his 6 brothers and ARMYs.
Towards the end, Jin looks hopeful and eager as he hears the sound of the bicycle bell which indicates that the little girl(army) is waiting right outside (fun fact: the first option for the fandom name they had was "bells" and they later changed it to ARMY) ; that when he returns back from the military, army will be waiting for him.
These are just a few but there are soo many other details. I hope you react to his LIVE performance too (You must listen to the speech Chris Martin gave before the actual performance. It's emotional but beautiful all at the same time
