    Sega should totally re release the mega drive. There are so many new games being made for it already, a rabid niche gamer market would eat it up. Those analog consoles did well, no way an official product wouldn’t do well. Can rerelease some of the heavy hitters, re release sonic 3 with the knuckles levels as one cartridge.

    • @VOAN
      @VOAN 8 месяцев назад +4

      Sega or their affiliates are making the Mega Drive and Sega Genesis every gen. There's never a generation where they don't make one. This generation alone there's like five of them: Sega Genesis Mini, Genesis Mini 2, AtGames Genesis HD, AtGames Genesis Portable, and even Hyperkin is making one and multiple Mega Drive and Genesis collections as well. If you're a Genesis/Mega Drive fans you got those experience every gen so there's no worry about that. Now the Saturn on the other hands...

    • @sloppynyuszi
      @sloppynyuszi 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@VOAN there are some companies paying a license and making something with a cartridge port that emulates roms from cartridges. And the fact all these companies are remaking Mega Drive consoles tells you there is a market for it. I’m saying Sega not some company paying them a license, makes a full hardware that plays old mega drive, an FPGA or just recreate the old hardware from scratch. Those @games stuff was very unappealing.
      A Saturn is a nice idea, but there aren’t enough homebrew games coming out for it, let alone homebrew games that match the release polish of the games at the time. And to be honest what games do you want for it? All the SNK and CPS games you can buy in compilations, and a lot of unique games for the console are a hard sell for today. Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon or Nights, you need to turn your rose tinted glasses full blast. There is a reason why no one is imitating blocky texture warps, pop ups , low frame rates and slow downs in throw back games.
      Of all the old consoles, the NES and the mega drive get the most new cartridges made today. And Nintendo isn’t going to make a NES again to cater for the homebrew community and make their games an official Nintendo product. I think Sega could benefit from this from a PR move. And has worked with the homebrew scene before. Sonic Mania is a good example of Sega working with fans doing stuff with their IP.

      Megadrive never died in Brazil. Tectoy is keeping it alive for decades.

    • @sloppynyuszi
      @sloppynyuszi 5 месяцев назад

      @@EvandroLBL it’s not the same though. The recent ones don’t come with a cartridge slot, it’s just plug and play consoles with a rom dump inside and some weird exclusive local games. As cool as some of the Brazilian oddities are today, but if your only options for duke 3d was a mega drive, and even that was upper class so the master system version of street fighter 2 was very viable in 1998. That’s pretty sad considering at that time we were playing wipeout, Tekken, VF2 and super Mario 64 in the west.
      I think a clean solid build console that is just a cartridge slot, with maybe a Sonic Rom built in (like they did with the master systems, different versions have different built in games). But focus more on all the awesomeness developers making cartridges for them.
      Nintendo should do the same for the Gameboy. The homebrew community is an untapped market. There is no money lost in it even if profits would be low, but just the PR would be amazing!

    What would be dope is if they'd work with some of the bigger names in the homebrew community to bring newer homebrew Atari, Intellivision, CV, NES etc games to this thing, and since the console has USB ports they could release limited edition controllers that represent the respective consoles, like one with a number pad and side buttons for CV & INTV games.

    Tommy Tallarico called, he wants you to know he's glad you liked the Amico concept so much you want Nintendo to do the same... Friggen selling NFC chips that unlock roms, what a terrible terrible idea. That's exactly what Evercade is doing right: The games are actually physical games.

    • @VOAN
      @VOAN 8 месяцев назад +1

      The thing is what the Amico is doing, Nintendo already did it with the e-Reader. Back in 2002 Nintendo released the e-Reader scanner for the GBA where you could scan RFID on the thing to unlock a game for play such as Donkey Kong 3 and Ice Climbers. Tommy copied that concept except the data of the game is not on the card itself but on a server somewhere. Since that server doesn't exist yet or ever, those imaginary games that Tommy and the Amico had are nothing more then useless trinket.

    -wifi and vc store to buy roms online.
    -mouse/keyboard support
    -save states

      Maybe as a one time anniversary kind of thing. Whatever it is they're not gonna mass produce it. In this age of triple A gaming and cutting edge hardware, Nintendo don't see retro as a main focus. They only see retro as an extra side thing. A little extra that they could give to gamers while they wait for the main products.

    Nintendo wants to ditch physical media for sure, so doubt they will ever release a new (old) cart system, but with you, would be cool. Was really hoping we see a Master System collection, but Sega seems to be holding on tight to that and letting all that ip rot on the vine. Evercade did get Capcom and Taito, would love those released in cart form. Maybe since Microsoft bought Activision we can see some of their stuff show? Classic Imagic/Activision from Atari/INTV day? Or even some EA sports titles? Maybe we will see 3do? Gex collection?

      You probably mistake Nintendo for Sony and Microsoft, out of those three Nintendo is the only one that doesn't make a digital edition of their console. In fact in the Wii lifespan, the final Wii console Nintendo make was all physical with no digital support at all.

    • @billford171
      @billford171 8 месяцев назад

      @@VOAN yeah I get that, but find it hard to believe they aren't seeing the other two move in that direction and will do the same. Going digital means the cost of hardware decreases significantly, plus gives them full control of their software forever being the owners of the "store". I hate the idea, but no way a corporation can say no to the benefits of digital.

    Nintendo should make a Switch Lite mini. A smaller switch lite for 99.95. Release along side the switch 2. selling the same collections evercade has. Only in the switch card format and the eshop.

    Well, having only just gotten into the Evercade system last week by getting the Taito Super Pocket to try out, and totally loving it, I couldn't help but preorder the VS-R which comes with the Tomb Raider cartridge. I mean, I love the system, I love the concept, I love the price, I love the cartridges for the same reasons... but what sealed the deal for me, as did the Taito Super Pocket, is the Hatsune Miku colour scheme, so I can totally fangirl my sh1t!!😍
    If Nintendo did this concept, and rereleased SNES games on mini cartridges, they certainly wouldn't pack in various games on one cart, and they CERTAINLY wouldn't sell them for $20!! Now, what would be great is if Blaze could do a deal with Sega, even if their compilation cartridges were more expensive for licencing reasons... now with the Gigacarts, there are so many Saturn games that could have a second chance on the Evercade!! A Magic Knight Rayearth cartridge, I would be first in the queue!! Not to mention maybe collabs with fan translators to release some of those japanese exclusives!!
    One can dream...

    As much as i like the Evercade it's time they put an analogue stick on that thing if they're going to start adding 3d games. As for Nintendo, the Switch is getting too old, they should come out with the Switch 2 along with a Lite and the home console version for those that don't care about the handheld mode, and i want to see a Gameboy Classic, N64 Classic and some new Game and Watches.

  • @thomasdowning3428

    I had the same thoughts about the Game and Watch Mario and then Zelda handhelds from Nintendo What if they had put out a NES and SNES classic handheld with all the same titles from the classic console releases? It would not have cost Nintendo much and they could have sold millions of them. Like you said, "Money left on the table." Also, they could have put all the Nintendo Game and Watch titles on one handheld instead of just a few games. They did better with the Zelda handheld, it had more titles. Too bad the Mario one did not have say, the Mario All-Stars with Super Mario World on it too! The hardware and the screen were up to it. Oh well, it seems Nintendo does not know a good thing when someone points it out to them. Cheers!

    as i saw this in eversd discord i short has think oh no they will stop supporting the evercade vs with firmware and in future the new card dont will work anymore but it looks liek this evercade vs-r is only a rebrandet version of it, i mean i had get an evercade vs because the og handhelds support was stop after 2 years and it would be a shame when the software support would be stop on the vs too ater 2 years i dont want buy all 2 years a new console revision of the same hardware only because the new games dont work because of artificial obsolescence from Blaze

    Wish they had gone with grey and yellow, I really like the atomic, but didn’t care for the color extra graphics.
    The esp-r makes sense
    Also will the super pocket refresh with new games or will they stay the same?
    I get that they need to have differences, I gotta think the super pocket cannibalized exp a bit for the exp.
    So make some hard differences
    Budget shoppers get the baked in games, and people who want the full handheld experience now only have to pay 40 more.
    Then if you want tv console play, you get a VS, probably how it should have been in the first place
    Hopefully the super pocket doesn’t go away, I like that there’s a budget version I can throw in my car and not worry about.
    I would like to see maybe a 10 dollar price drop.

      Not sure why Nintendo needs to buy EverCade or Blaze for that matter, other than their hardware and accessories, nothing of value is at offered here. EverCade had no IPs and no exclusive games of their own that add any value to Nintendo. At this point the same license devs that support EverCade, Nintendo could easily offered them the same deal and still got those games on Switch but Nintendo didn't choose that path yet.

    What I wish Nintendo was doing is doing what Microsoft and Sony are doing making next gen consoles not the same graphics performance power as the Wii in 2006 this is why no call of duty WWE games are going on the Switch it’s the same as the Wii Nintendo should of released all their Zelda Mario games they released on the Switch on the Wii and Wii U no reason to ignore those 2 other consoles that’s as powerful as the Switch the difference is the controllers and how the systems look if Nintendo wants call of duty to run on their next Nintendo coke they will have to release a $500 Nintendo console next year $300 isn’t going get them anywhere
