This is a piece of history to me. Never realised but part of my late teens early 20’s formed to these songs. And they will haunt me forever. And I am grateful for that
The sounds this group are producing from mainly acoustic instruments -- Groundbreaking!! This is amazing and wonderful and beautiful and just ever so slightly disturbing all at once. Incredible. I am so glad I was led here by a comment on an entirely different type of video 😊
Watched him headline Latitude festival years ago from the side of the stage. When he came off I drunkenly gave him a hug and he shared his bottle of red wine with us.
Ummmm...........Lisa Hannigan is amazing. Lost a lot of respect for Damien the way he canned Lisa from the group. In the end it all worked out. We got the chance to hear more of Lisa and her beautiful songs.
I wonder how people can get on a stage fill of people and not be so full of anxiety and stage fright. That’s is a talent in itself. They have to sing and not fear making mistakes. People who don’t have fear to get up and sing and play music, that people like, without screwing up. It’s magical.
I think that Damien Rice is still so underrated here in the states. However he is my favorite artist of all time! What talent. The thing I love about Damien Rice is that he only puts out his best songs. He even said it himself in an interview. He is very picky about what he puts out there. Only the very best make it into final recording. I love it!
Who is singing at the beginning. Whoever this woman is, she's wonderful with a bright tone of sunlight. An expression of hope in a lost world. One last look at the distant land. One last heartbeat from a dyeing soldier. One last look at a lost love. I like this performance alot!!! This clearly shows what can happen when a group of talented people get together. The production goes from soft to powerful and the audience doesn't miss a beat!! Time for another . Join me? I guess we will find out soon!
That is Lisa Hannigan. She is an amazing artist in her own right. Plenty of videos of her here to check out. For me when she and Damien were together it brought out the absolute best in both of them as artists. The energy and passion they both brought together was simply magic.

I got to see him live on the Blowers Daughter tour, would have loved to see him with Lisa and the band, I miss the cello 😥
