  • A Mukilteo, Washington company designed a pod that’s an all-inclusive emergency kit and tsunami shelter. Survival Capsule, which is designed to float not only on top of the water but on top of debris, aims to help residents wait out the devastating waves. The capsule could be tethered to the ground or float free. It’s painted orange to make it stand out in a debris pile that washes up on shore or even if it gets pulled out to sea. The capsule is insulated against the cold and even heat from floating fires, which have accompanied tsunamis. RescuePod and STATIM Tsunami Shelter System each design similar products that offer shelter in a tsunami.

    Wow as a retired couple in central Florida, a nice 2-4 person capsule would be some real piece of mind. Especially if fitted with a decent power source and WIFI/cell communications, that you could use in your home as a recreation space and survivable area, Evan as a safe room? Or having it double as a personal submarine of sorts? Imagine one built out of a reinforced polycarbonate ball? With tremendous crush strength?

    Yeah, the BALL survived the fall off the falls... the laws of physics still apply INSIDE the ball... Send it over the falls with a person in it... "Hey, the ball survived!", "What about the passenger?", "Uuum?"

      😂👍🏻 i was thinking the same. Imagine the ball getting hit by various debris and flying around like crazy, even if the ball stays ok, our brains will be pudding 😃

    The resistance structure made of cylindrical bars should be rethought to favor the interior space. A model based on the honeycomb design would provide both resistance on a small contact surface and space. A ventilation system is necessary because the "ball" could be trapped under the rubble for long periods of time, supports for water reserves and dry food, heating, SOS emission system. A water support system in case it is too heavy and a water evacuation system if the outer shell fails.

    add a ripcord that then inflates a helium or hydrogen balloon...maybe for safety...2 or 3 baloons that combined have enough lift to take the sphere airborne...have it tethered to a large concrete block...and also include a tether release inside the sphere.if debris is dragging you back down.just take your chances and fly off via balloon.when danger is passed...pull a cord to let gas out of baloon/s...until a slow descent is reached..beats getting ground to bits in all the debris

    That is perfect for time travel. I will need this armor-steel pod for my protection and survival thru time travel. An extra seat in a pod will bring a new girlfriend named Weena from the distant future. She and I will find a new home somewhere in a time. Cheers! 👍😇👍

    Pods should have seats like a roller coaster seat belts.... FOAM should fill the Pods we will have air support mask on.....the foam deployment will prevent whiplash any impact related injuries

  • @dutchmasterallme6645
    @dutchmasterallme6645 Год назад

    I think it would need a air support system..and impact detection.. inside foam should deploy...you will be automatically sedated.. until you float to the top and sensors determine if surrounding are safe.. open with life jackets..

    There should be some sort of inside and outside pack that helps if it becomes lodged under debris. As well an a Carbon scrub device. If you can’t get out of it for any reason why suffer a slow long death.

    • @theshuman100
      @theshuman100 3 года назад

      i mean theres alot wrong with the initial design. just the entrance itself would make it inaccessible for old and disabled people having to crouch down backwards straight into the seat as it doesnt have much of a floor to turn around in.
      Id complain about that door demonstration seeing how that over complicated hinge actually misaligned and costed the guy a couple seconds just to close it properly, but thats more of a manufacturing limitation. im just curious how much weight it can push up because if it gets pinned down underwater that would suck

    • @Jessmora884

    What if the door gets crushed a little to where you can’t open it back up? What if you get buried under tons of debri? Will someone be able to find you? Will you suffocate in this if the door is jammed shut? Sounds like a death trap if something goes wrong.
