- As one section of the earth plunges below another, the sea floor will lift up and the ocean above will bulge, sending a massive wave barreling toward the coast. From the beach in Seaside, Oregon, it will appear as if the tide is going out, but way too fast. Then about 15-20 minutes later, the leading edge of the wave will hit the beach. At 25 minutes, the water will flood over the promenade and start pouring down the city streets. "The whole town will turn into a giant lake, full of floating houses and debris and floating cars," said geologist Tom Horning.

Here in the west coast we are only borrowing views and activities of our area.. we are only passing through this is not our Eternal home.. greater love has no fear
I had a waking vision of a west coast tsunami during prayer on 8/27/2012, that changed my life forever. It will happen, but i am not afraid. I know where I'm going; this world is not my home.
Do you remember any other details
While I would not want to be at any part of the Oregon Coast when the Cascadia earthquake happens (Hood River Valley resident here) Seaside is literally the last place I would want to be. You have not one but two streams that you would need to take bridges over to get to high ground and many if not most of them will have collapsed. There is the condo building they climbed in the video but Im not sure if it was build to withstand a possible maximum magnitude 9+ if the whole fault line ruptures or less sever 8+ quake if about half of it does.
The 1964 tsunami went right over that Seaside Seawall and turnaround carrying logs and sand, and it was a " little" tsunami, compared the catastrophic tsunami coming... anytime.
it would suck but I mean it would be pretty badass to say you lived in oregon when it happened
All the way from Vancouver BC down to Northern California. I'm in Washington state... High enough and inland enough to watch the show ( as long as I survive the earthquake.)
I would suggest riding a bicycle instead of walking or running...because you may only have 10 minutes instead of 20 to 25 minutes. people find it hard to grasp the ocean level rising 25 to 50 feet. only concrete buildings that are 5 or 6 stories high will be safe if you are within 2 to 3 miles of the normal waterline at the beach.
It's definitely going to happen, one way or another.
I Trust in the MY LORD JESUS CHRIST. Amen
