I couldn't agree more mate. The more I look in to oxygen the more I realise just how important it is and how much of a factor it is in determining the long term health of your koi and the success of your pond 🍻🍻
Hi daz looking forward to your next video what's the best parasite treatment you can buy and can you buy a all in one which kills all parasite.s what would you recommend 😊😊
Hi Mark, apologies, I missed this comment. Unfortunately there is no such thing as an all in one treatment, despite what some manufacturers try to have people believe. Only every treat if you have an issue and have correctly diagnosed what it is. Then choose and use the best product for that ailment. They all come with side effects and are very harsh on koi so use only when absolutely necessary.
@@DazzleKoi still having chemo treatment just 4 more to go finish treatment around October. It’s been hard this winter at 71 years old my joints don’t like the cold 🥶 but apart from that hopefully have a good pond season. Stay safe and well 🙏🐟🐟🐟🐟🙏
To be honest I have not tested my oxygen for about three month so this film gave me the heads up to do it now which I have just done, thank you for this Daz. I have the Tetra kit but find it hard to match the the tube colour to the exact chart colour, it looks something around the 8 to 11 mark. Does the JBL kit make matching the tube and chart colours any easier.
What do you think about covering ponds over winter ,and by that I mean covering directly over the water surface, there is a koi dealer on RUclips that lays polystyrene sheets directly on the surface and says there is no problems with gas off,I was thinking of giving this a go with a swimming pool cover but I'm really not sure
Hi Dan, I've never bothered covering to be honest as I want to enjoy my koi all year round and I feel the benefit is minimal. The cons can out way the pros very easily if you dont observe them every day. The issue of gassing off is definitely over emphasised. I thing the theory is sound, but in practice you will never make a pond gas tight. Gas can always escape. I personally would have no qualms about laying something on the surface (not keen on polystyrene though to be honest, its nasty stuff under the right conditions.
Hi Tony, in theory its not impossible, but in reality it would be to difficult to achieve and just not really worth the effort. You would need to create a 100% water saturated air environment rather than a zero water one and these tests aren't capable of measuring so high. Temperature and pressure also need to be accounted for etc You can do it with digital probe type instruments with full range of measurement but they cost far to much to justify buying one for a pond.
Hi mate, no, no problem at all. There is a condition often called gas bubble disease which is caused by supersaturated water BUT it is impossible to cause this in a pond unless you deliberately force huge volumes of very highly compressed air in to the water. Nothing to worry about 🍻🍻
Hi mate, its a cheap shade sail from amazon. From memory I think it was about £40 but it was a couple of years ago so they have probably gone up a bit 🍻🍻
Thanks for the heads up pal. Not tested mine for a while. Will do now.
Nice update 👍 Daz always enjoy watching 👀

Good to see you matey, great advice cheers take care
Cheers Pal, hope you're keeping well 🍻🍻🍻
Great update. Thank you Daz.
Cheers Shaun 🍻
Good tutorial video Daz. I use the tetra O2 test kit, and it's a simple test. Always good to know the amount of dissolved oxygen we have 👍🏼

Not had the airlines on so much through the winter but are back on now

I hope everything works out for you. I had no idea chemotherapy lasted so long, I can only imagine how hard it must be. All the best to you 🫶

Can you do a control of this test kit? Have a bucket of water with no pump outside and test it and see if it should be 0

Is there a problem excess oxygen if I use 2x 3 rings oxygen for a 4000L pond?
Hi mate, no, no problem at all. There is a condition often called gas bubble disease which is caused by supersaturated water BUT it is impossible to cause this in a pond unless you deliberately force huge volumes of very highly compressed air in to the water. Nothing to worry about 🍻🍻
Where did you get the black cover over your pond from?
