Hi mate, yes thats her on the new logo. I had to get something similar made as I'm not sure were I would stand on copyright issues but I like the fact that its a tribute to her rather than a full on copy 👍👍👍
Hi Aidan and thank you very much 🍻🍻 How is the koi hobby in Ireland? Do you have many dealers bringing good quality fish in? Are there clubs and shows?
Great story to start the weekend with Darren. Illustrates your depth of knowledge and passion for what is clearly more than a hobby for many. Appreciate all your videos and my new pond is a pleasure benefiting from your knowledge. Many thanks.
A very informative and touching story about an absolutely stunning kohaku of superb quality. I've had never heard the story of Loulan before. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks mate, it is indeed. Given the time that's gone since Loulan I don't think we will ever see another Kohaku this good. I'd love to know what became of the bloodline
Thank Paul, it is a cool story isn't it. A friend of mine is going to dig around when he goes to Japan soon. See if he can turn up anything else that isn't in the public domain. It would be interesting to know what happened to the bloodline after Loulan
Love the content , but found the background music distracting, seemed to fade in and out, took me a while to figure out where the piano music was coming from 😅😅
Hi Tom, yeah I haven't used music before. I just wanted it barely audible in the background, kind of only noticeable when I stopped speaking. Maybe rethink it for next time 👍👍
Hi Ben and thanks. I've had some kind of flu thing for over a week now and I've lost my voice so I'm waiting for it to go. I'm also struggling to go 30 seconds without a coughing fit now as well. I've got one all planned so as soon as I can speak again I'm away, hopefully this weekend but I'm not confident
I enjoyed this video. Your storytelling and narration is interesting and easy on the ears. As a koi hobbyist, I enjoyed learning the history of Loulan. Thank you for researching and sharing with us.
It is mate, and imagine, all it would take is a knock or damage from a parasite or any other mishap and she would have been unable to compete at that level. 16 years without a single blip. I don't think I would be ablew to sleep at night.
what an amazing story! the golden standard for kohaku for sure. I wonder what her diet was? the feed used back then certainly didn't have all the fancy/modern ingredients used today. None of the bells and whistles as far filtration goes either. makes you appreciate the basics and the importance of water quality. thanks for sharing 🙏
Hi mate and thank you. Thats very interesting, I hadn't thought about that. I wonder if she would have turned out any better today with fancy food and hi-tech filtration??
That's amazing story Sir. Thanks for sharing it. Koi keeping is not my main hobby but enjoy keeping them. You can clear this up for me. How long does your average Koi life span last? I have to that I adopted and they are both 26 years old and look healthy and well.
Hi David, its a real grey area this. You could literally get 20 different answers from 20 different sources. I think 30 -35 years is a good age. Some will live longer but I think the majority will live shorter. There is a story of a koi living for something like 220 years. Apparently this was verified scientifically but I sceptical. Koi's name was Hanako, if you google it you will see the story.
Very interesting, never heard that story before. I must admit I always look at the pattern on Kohaku first, looking at uniformity and symmetry. Then colour brightness and tone. Never really thought too much about skin quality. Will definitely be paying attention to it from now on . Thanks Daz. 👍
Hi Jeremy and thanks 🍺🍺 I'm the same, its hard to look past pattern, particularly at the level at which I am buying as they are never going to be world beaters so pattern is more important to me in that instance.
Hi Sir, I'm not sure how to help you with this. Its very strange as there is only one file and one audio track so I dont understand how the music can be there but not my voice. Have you tried it on a different device?
Such an amazing story and incredibly well told! You are a wonderful storyteller
Thank you very much, I appreciate that 🍻🍻
The story of heikichi was pure devotion. Sounds like he finaly found peace.
Thsnks for telling us all apart of koi history.
Thanks very much, I think you are right 👍👍🥂👍👍

Cheers Jack 🍺🥂🍺

That story was so interesting but so sad too thank you for sharing 🙏🐟🐟🐟🐟🙏
Hi Carol and thank you. It is still mind boggling for me to think that he invested 14 years and then died one day after she won !!
Great story, very interesting thanks for sharing 😮
Cheers John 🍻🍺🍻

No one could tell this story with more passion than you Dazzle. Thanks for the great video. Please also tell us the story of Hanako.

Thanks Tommy, I'm guessing you watched the second half now 😁👍👍
Very nice story. Looked like you enjoyed sharing this with us. Was nice to watch.
Hi Lau, I did indeed, it's still mind boggling that he could pass away literally one day after she won after he had nurtured her for 14 years.
Great story to start the weekend with Darren. Illustrates your depth of knowledge and passion for what is clearly more than a hobby for many. Appreciate all your videos and my new pond is a pleasure benefiting from your knowledge. Many thanks.
Hi Mark, thank you very much, that means a lot 🍻🍺🍻

Only background light music is audible . your narration is not audible - from India
