Great to see Trevor Nation reunited with his No 5 JPS Norton, I was always a big fan of his stretching back to the days when he used to compete out of the back of a Transit van at the IOM on a Suzuki GSXR.
I was lucky enough to have met him once quite by accident whilst I was working in Salisbury.Must've been approximately 1990,knocked on a front door to get a signature for a delivery & Trev opens the door, blew my mind & made my day. A true gent, a nice guy & a fearless racer.

A nicer guy you'll never meet, that infectious grin is still there and you can just tell he still loves that bike.. good on yer Trev.

I followed the JPS Nortons all over he country in the late 80's early 90's, was for me the best sounding bike ever, Nation and Spray were my hero's back then and I still sit here and watch the videos today 30 years on, magic. Never forget the speed advantage it had on the long straight at Snetterton esp when Ron Haslam rode it, was like a rocket ship and had that wonderful sound also

Witnessed them at the TT what a sound and performance to match. Set me looking for a rotary, 22 years later I found the baby of the pack a Hercules W2000 (its single rotor was doubled up it the Norton as DKW sold Norton the production machines) spent 6 months bringing cosmetics up to snuff but a genuine 1,400 engine means theres a few years in it yet. Still makes a proper fruity sound and a lot of fun to ride despite only 27 BHP !

There's a good case for saying the JPS Norton Rotary is simply the most iconic bike in the last 50 years. And best of all, British engineered. Remember our beautiful country's done great things, and could again. 🇬🇧

Shame they was not designed to be water/oil cooled and not air/oil cooled might of had better reliability on the track.

Mr Carpatcher, they mostly are water cooled. Only the very first experimental racers were air cooled. Once the race project got serious all were liquid cooled motors.

Agreed. Isn't that the case with almost all motorcycle footage, the producers seem to think that if you like motorcycles then you must like heavy rock so they give us some B team rock band graunching crap riffs over everything. It would be better to just have the pukka background noise.
