I bought the same priced shopvac brand from Lowe’s. It had a smaller hose that clogged easily. I took i it back. The larger hose on the rigid hasn’t clogged so far. The cord is longer. I looked at a larger hose at Lowe’s , but this model with the large wheels follows you easily as you move about .the larger models with castor wheels turn over easier. Perfect size for around the house and the shop. Also I ,lifetime warranty vs 3 or 5 years on the shopvac.
Thanks for posting. Yes, I also had tested the shopvac brand myself from Lowes. This Rigid is stronger power more portable and the wheels just makes it great all together.
I own this and can't tell if it matters which way you put the vac back on the base, it fits either way. I also can't get the dust bag on, I'm sure I bought the right one. Minor details aside, I get great use out of it. Lots of power and a long power cord that let's you roam.
Good vacuum but anyone who has ever dealt with Rigids warranty department knows that they are notorious for not honouring their warranties. They make it a complete hassle intentionally.
favor/help, I am about to buy a new vacuum, I have three options: 1) karcher WD1 2) amor all utility vacuum 3) Ridgid WD4700 any comparison with the Karcher WD1 ?
Searched for WD4070 and yours was the 2nd one. I just got one of these. Nearly sucked the frame of the vehicle up through the floor board. LOVE IT.
Good video, just got mine yesterday.I purchased the upgraded kit with upgraded hose and accessories.
Great video!
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

Thank you for showing how to remove the filter! I wanted to be sure I could remove it easily before I bought one. Thanks again!

Interesting, please explain to help others.
Buy your Ridgid from Home Depot. If it breaks return to Home Depot for no hassle return . They will charge it off to Ridgid.
just as it should
Mine came with 3 long pipes
Someone swapped the components inside it sounds like
What is the difference in the new NXT line and this one?
Have you tried the car accessory kit? It's pretty amazing.
Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.
What about the paper filter Should I use it
I use it only for dust related jobs. Water related vacuums, I don't use a filter given it gets wet.

I haven't tried the others, maybe somebody else can chime in. I really like the Ridgit and would buy it again.
Can I use this with a sander if I put in a vacuum bag in conjunction with the round filter?
Probably can, I haven’t tried it though.
Would you r recommend this over the 12 gallon model with 5hp? They are about the same price so I'm confused which is better
If you have big jobs, get the big one. The smaller one works great at home or smaller jobs.
@@netman88 do you recommend getting the version with the detachable blower?
I actually like this unit. Don’t see a need for a different version.
@@netman88 just order3d the same. Thanks alot
Does anyone know the cfm on this
How can I contact with you
Slapping those clamps down like that is a bad idea. Puts unnecessary wear and tear on clamps. They are made of plastic. Can break.
Yeah, don’t do that regularly.
