- The Yorkshire Air Ambulance team races to the rescue after a high-speed crash leaves a mother and child trapped in their wrecked car. Plus, paramedics Paul and James call in a coastguard chopper to help save a climber critically injured on Yorkshire's biggest natural landmark.
This popular British series takes viewers into the cockpits of rescue choppers to experience life or death dramas, high-speed action and colourful characters. The missions are often the only hope for the critically ill or badly injured in England's most unreachable landscapes.

I cannot get over the cowardice of the 2 men who hit the woman's car. My god, what kind of people are they?
Deadbeats is what they are. He didn’t even thank to even look!
Whenever that happens here in the US the car is stolen.
Car likely stolen. Drivers likely unlicensed. Two dirt bags likely already have criminal records. #diversity
Romanians?
I hope they got their just tea. Piping hot justice.
I cant believe that biker had such serious injuries! Watching the video and the fall, you'd never know how serious it was!
When they got to his lacerated liver I about died! I was wondering why he was yelling so loud. Glad he is doing better. I felt very bad for not feeling bad in the beginning!
Momentum + body weight + well placed rock
@@amandasnider2644 VERY well placed rock
It's just amazing what a bit of 'physics' can do in the bad angles. At a good angle maybe he'd have had a bruise, and a scrape on a wrist. And while that poor fellow got a DEFINITELY bad angle, it almost surely could have been even worse, which is scary to think about. And I just heard that he had not even ONE laceration of his liver, but two of them! So wild. That moment of initial pain where his arms quivered told me IMMEDIATELY that he had damaged something badly even if we couldn't see it. *I* had suspected his hip for a moment, until they settled him and he didn't seem to mind that hip being 'up' like that. The moment of anguish was clear, though.
...I hope the other lads DID bring his poor bike out, though! :)
I have a giggle over the Narrator, with his smooth calm voice while sounding like the prophet of doom!! He’ll let you know the worst-case scenarios! 😂
My heart broke for that elderly couple in the accident. They were so sweet; the first responders did a wonderful job taking care of them!
poor lady was trying to pull into what looked to be her home when those ppl crashed into her.
Did they ever catch those two cowards?
The group of hikers and climbers that came to the rescue to immediately help the man who fell on the cliff before the paramedics arrived are amazing! Just regular people coming to the aid of someone they’ve never met is just extraordinary and so commendable! 💕💕💕💕
Suprised those guys were able to walk away
This is fantastic. I am State side and here the ambulance takes you to the nearest ER/ED and if you need to be taken to a larger facility they determine the urgency and only then will they send a helicopter. I have never seen paramedics fly to the scene before!
There are lot of outlying farms and rural areas in my state with nothing for miles. We could truly use this.
you need to stay on the lookout for these videos - they really do happen here.
The UK has 66 million people but is the size of Oregon..its tax base can afford things like that. I imagine your state has far fewer people.
This is why the US needs full care for everyone.
This depends on where you live. Life flight doesn't work that way here. Life flight flies straight to the accidents. That's what they are for not as a medical transport between medical facilities.
@@user-ct8my8rv9c But you can afford the most expensive military in the world. Go figure.
The heart machine did not pick up on my dads heart attack either. Lucky paramedics took him because all signs were heart attack. He had a quadruple bypass.
The USA medical situation is bad, very bad. Greed has overcome this nation in every area. It is so depressing.
So glad these patients don't have to fear medical bankruptcy in addition to the stress of their injuries as they would do in America.
Same in Canada....I was in hospital for a month for major surgery and I paid nothing....its not a perfect system but it's much better than the US
Basic institutional greed plus for-profit hospital chains, what could possibly go wrong?
The Fire/Rescue/EMT services are generally highly trained and relatively poorly funded.
And the more rural an area, the less help is available.
In Norway we have the same system, all is for free. BUT, we pay for it anyway, sort of,because of taxes.
And emt and doctors have a good pay. Nurces could have had more/earnt more ,but this is politic.
I had an accident. Both helicopter and ambulance was free of course. The same with month on hospital. And all medicine for free. After i came home, i had someone cone home to me to help with wounds and medicine, everyday, plus someone who helped cleaning house and such,i could not do myself, had to sit still.
I even got my medicin delivered to the door, well, all the way in my livingroom actually.
I lije the system and it is similar for everybody.
But, as i sad, we pay for all this, thru taxes, and this is how we want It, always. It feel predictabel and safe. No worries.
All humans should have the right go the best medic aid and treatment , no matter what ot cost. I dont know what my bill would have been, but i guess a lot, since i had majour treatment and all the specialist, and operations, and helicopter arent cheap either. (I even got transported home in an ambulance, and carried inside my house , when i was finish at hospital).
Sorry about my broken english ✌
Same here in Malta, free medical care which is paid from our taxes.
@@ladyraisha
I like it, even when having to pay tax .
It feels safe .
Even to THINK i should pay for medic aid helicopter, the ambulance, and several weeks at hospital, all kind of specialist care and treatment , food and medicines.
Even ambulance back home , and carry me to my sofa !
I would have had to pay for years and years if i should have payd for it all. Everyday, for weeks, one nurse came to check om me, and bring me medicibe,if empty out, after the hospital. And every other day,a fysiotherapist trained me,at my home, and a housekeeper came twice a week to clean and stuff.
All for free.
Yes,i would rather pay my tax . With a "grinny smile"😉
Together and a memorable anniversary.
Life-changing accidents are horribly terrifying but with the right help we survived it all. I hope and pray for all the best life can give you all as it has for me. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I fell on the playground and there was a gap. My leg fell and security guard comes and saw my leg twisted and try to pick me up but couldnt remove it and another one came and removed it. I was screaming in pain while my friend tried to comfort me
Yorkshire is a beautiful place to visit, steeped in history

Get out in nature they said, it`ll be fun, oooh, go climbing they said, you`ll get in shape and get great views, go for a bike ride they said, great way to get in shape they said..
It's very sad that the true love couple had an accident when they wanted to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and it's very touching 50 years of marriage but their love is still strong and full of love like a newly married couple..
that bikers mates seem a bit ignorant to the fragility of the human body. I was concerned he punctured a lung.
It’s somewhat understandable he’s not a doctor and his mate is screaming bloody murder after what from the video doesn’t look like all that bad of a fall and to be quite frank if he didn’t land on that rock he probably would have been fine so I sort of get it.
Is it me or every time a car gets in the crash the airbags never go off
It was a side crash, there is no need for the air bag in the steering wheel to go on.
Every time I've been in a wreck. They always have!
Why does the description say that the child was trapped in the car? Clearly she wasn't.
No thank God.
I love this show. Thanks for sharing it. 😊
Best doc
My deepest sympathy to Trays family.
What happened to Tray .?
A simple cold would kill me in my country with lame medical services 😅
I am so sorry.
Every medic aid and medicine should be free. It should be like a human right !
Imagine not getting the help one need, due to lack of money !
That is crazy, it makes me so sad. I know some country's dont have cost free health treatment. It have to be so stressfull for people who dont have that much money ! I am so sorry some people really have health issue because of money.
What good does it do for 2 men to walk away from the accident they caused, when vehicle owner can be tracked down by license, VIN #?
Likely dodging onsight alcohol/drug screen.
Car was probably stolen.
The climber: wonder if the UK still has the money to afford rescues like this. June 2021. What would be the alternative?
the air ambulances in the UK run on donations and volunteers
@@SuperSarahs123 The Doctors also volunteer? Wow, that's wonderful. Thanks for that info.
We have the same system in British Columbia, Canada…
Incidentally, America is the ONLY major democratic country to charge money without private health insurance,,
Really scary thought!

He says he basically had a small heart attack

42:53... Unless it's a climb up Everest. As my opinion goes, aside from combat sports, mountaineering is the least likely sport in which you're likely to get help from strangers. Obviously that doesn't mean that every single person is just out for themselves but as a whole. Of course the mountain biker might think of getting new riding buddies, they were just a bit to self absorbed in my opinion just based on the two other guys statements.

Why do they speak in units of miles per hour? I thought everything in the UK was metric (km)?
In the UK it's MPH and miles when on the roads. We have a strange mixture of Imperial and metric units, depending on what you are doing. (e.g. shopping is mostly metric units)

June 2021. If people were carrying cell phones, could rescuers use GPS to locate them these days?
Given the police car has a 14 plate in the RTC it’s anytime after 2014
@@SHurd-rc2go they got a grid reference from the cell phone in the mountain bike accident. The helicopter GPS wasnt working so old fashioned land navigation comes into play.
3 emergency services, umpteen rescuers, danger of helicopter's draft pushing people of the ledge and endanger numerous lives...just think what all went into getting one person to hospital...all because one old guy doesn't know when to give up dangerous pursuit despite his advanced age, not considering anything else but hisown thrill.

GPS can direct people to the wrong places. If you think it's perfect you are wrong. Computers are not perfect either.
They said the Heather was out which is part of a GPS system. Thats why its always good to know how to navigate the old fashioned way.
