Kiwimations So many parents do this...with beauty pageants, sports, college, etc....you name it. Why can't they just let their kids be kids, and make their own choices and decisions about what makes the child (and not Mom or Dad) happy?
kids's wit is gas! My godchild/niece, who is three and a half lately stayed with her other grandparents for a few days. One day she then said to them "Don't get me wrong, but I think I'll have to go home, my parents are surely missing me already!" :-D
I’ve been told to get my daughter into modeling. I asked her and she said “Yuck, no way”. So it was never mentioned again. Parents shouldn’t live vicariously through their children. It’s wrong.
The kid that said they wanted to be an actor because their "mom said so" made me sad :(. Along with the mom that said it's every girls dream to be a model. That's so ignorant and sad for someone to say, let your kid do what they want. And I can assure you not every girl wants to be a model, I for sure don't want to be one
Right? I mean there's nothing wrong with wanting to be a model, but for a parent to be dragging you into it and telling you its what you want at that age... That girl is going to have damage when she's older. I never wanted to model. My mom and older sister did some on tv when I was a kid, I liked helping backstage. When I was a toddler i was backstage at a show my mom did and a male model put me on his shoulders and walked with me (I can only imagine the poor, swooning audience), but I wanted to be a vet. Actually, first I wanted to be a lion. Then I wanted to be a vet.
And in the end when they ask what the boy wants now that he's managed to get through. I reckon the answer would be an ice cream and playing football with his friends
exactly I really want to be a model and I'm eleven and black. I am very tall standing at maybe 5'5 5'6 and i am also very developed for my age. I don't mean to act sexy or older that my age it just happens. Also does everyone else think it it's weird that you have to look younger and shorter than your age to be a child model but you have to be taller than average height to be an adult model?
while I agree with that, I think there's better ways to develop thick skin than flat out telling a minor that their boobs are too big. I'm in the industry (entertainment, not modeling) and how I built my thick skin is getting used to rejection after rejection, being told I wasn't right for this or that, and being told I need to practice more. And I did. I took all the constructive criticism and fed it into each new opportunity and audition. I've gotten to sing solo at Carnegie Hall now and have my eyes set on Broadway. All the people who have ever made it will tell you they've heard more "no"'s than "yes"'s, and that is absolutely true.
Child abuse??? Really? My daughter is gorgeous and knows looks isn't everything. So all the child models and actors you see are abused?? Y'all are some sick individuals. You didn't hear my daughter say cause mommy wants me too. Jealous people.....
This is EXACTLY like the moms in the pageant shows like Toddlers and Tiaras. Its like the woman on here says....Some of the children you can tell are happy and enthusiastic and really want to do it and some are crying and screaming and scared and being FORCED to do it because as that little boy says "MOMMY wants me to" and they would be much happier sitting at home watching Disney movies or playing with their toys, being a normal kid. And the sad thing is, Mom doesn't seem to care whether the child doesn't want to do it.....I have seen moms on Toddlers and Tiaras with screaming, crying kids, who spend literally THOUSANDS of dollars on costumes and makeup and modeling lessons and then FORCE the kids into the hair and makeup and make them to go onstage and then they get mad when their kid doesn't win the crown. Its disgusting in my opinion. Let them be kids.
Growing up, I always wanted to be on Broadway, and when I went to a audition, I felt like I was the only kid there who ACTUALLY wanted to do this and had to do a million chores and sell buckets worth of Lemonade to convince my parents to let me go. Luckily, I’m in acting school now, but the fact that my first gig was with 7 or 8 year olds who wanted to go and play soccer or/and paint their nails without their mom’s trying to get them to go out and be Kardashian famous, was, and still is, pretty disconcerting. In fact, I have words for it that would not be appropriate to say on this server. Oh, and congrats to people who read this ALL through! Luck sent your way ❤️
Casting Agent (to kid): "Are you excited?" Kid: "Uh...umm.." Parent: "He's very excited." Pathetic parents, need to go out and make their own dreams come true.
If the parent wanted to act, they should do it. Not make kid do it if kid is not interested. The children sit around to wait for their part. emely rivera I can't tell you how many times adults tell children that, right down to speech and mannerisms. As a child, I had a vast vocab and could hold a conversation with any adult without sounding childlike, a lady told my mom she should stop training me to be an Einstein and let me play with dolls 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
I have a daughter (age 7) and a son (age 6) my daughter loves acting and being in the spotlight and is signed with an agent who are amazing. My son hates anything like that and that’s fine. I would never push my children in to something they don’t want to do. I think it’s more the parents that want the fame and money and that’s just wrong. Most of the time, kids who rise to fame at a young age can end up going downhill with drugs, because the process turns so overwhelming. Some of these parents are so into themselves THINKING they know what's best for they're children.
Gaming Withjaz not really. Even those who want it can end up doing hardcore drugs simply because they grew up way too quickly, so they want one occasion to rebel and what better way than drugs?
I kinda wonder about that whole drug thing. Because I know of a crapload of non-famous people who have problems with drug addiction. Do actors/actresses really have a higher rate of addiction or is it that they're just in the spotlight so everybody sees?
@Zachary Sanders its not like everything is about you or your sisters modelling dream or your moms support why the hell did you responded to every comment
This is very interesting to see. When I was little, I BEGGED my mother to take me to casting calls and we never went. As I grew older, I understood why... I’ve known about drug issues and sexual abuse scandals, but I’ve never seen kids say they want to do something because “mommy said so”. That’s very startling. I was always under the impression that child actors were the ones who begged their parents to be a part of TV. Now, years later, I am entering 8th year of teaching and I can’t imagine putting any of my kids under this much pressure, whether they initially asked to be on TV or not.
I am sorry to disagree with you... My daughter started when she was 4 years old... Did I make her? ...NO... I gave her a chance (if she wanted to act)... The reason I put her into acting classes at the age of 4 is because I already KNEW that they would "HELP" her grow, learn and have fun doing just that... so much so she SKIPPED the first grade... Now my daughter is 28 years old... still acting and I'm an Acting Teacher. I do agree with parents that NO parent should make a child take acting lessons or do acting if they don't want to... but in the last 24 years I have never seen anything WRONG with any of the students I have been around. Drugs? That is up to the individual student... I do NOT like it when people say acting leads to drugs and drinking anymore than sports do the same thing... it is up to the Child... and their choices later on. I am also a Licenced School Teacher and I am going to reopen my Acting Studio so students can also have a positive outlet instead of going to TOC or JCC... I don't know where people seem to think this is a lot of Pressure, although there is a lot of work... A GOOD Acting Coach or Acting Director TEACHES the student to be prepared... and it's a lot of fun. Acting isn't for everyone... but I would say, let the student go to a Acting Camp or an Acting Class for a couple of weeks... it is a lot of fun.. and they LEARN how to deal with life later on too!
You mean there are countless people who would love to have a chance to do this but can't and yet there are children there who don't even WANT to be there?!
Yup and there are also kids who want to be there but freeze in front of adult strangers and/or cameras. I did some commercial work in late 80's you'll never find it. and even if do won't know which is me. I look nothing like I did at 3 and 4 in those commericals now a days. I was born blonde. For time I was naturally strawberry blonde then naturally mousey brown. Now hair is dark. I've seen kids in waiting areas telling mom or dad usually mom this is so fun then get to point of talking to adult strangers and be like slient or where ok till camera and be like nope. I've seen mother's telling kid this will be blast. I've always been ADHD though not diagnosed till adult so to me it was blast to meet and play with new ppls my brain didn't think anything of it. For commercials they sorted you into looks and because of commercials having less time for auditions after separated and those who didn't fit told bye they had basic home camera I knew it wasn't on despite what they told us. Then they made sure are heights fit for what they wanted. Then they talked to us behind camera and whoever fit everything and didn't freak got the part. Then a lot if shouting 1-2 weeks later when actually shot commercial. Sometimes at 3-4 I was to short for commercial as got older they didn't like my hair color. Commercials are more diverse now
They did not show his full audition. He was able to show the emotions they wanted. Those are huge, as a actor photographer,I have had many of my actors cast off their emotion faces: fear, surprise, crying, etc. Many kids I work with are not able to do that. So we have to train them.
What's also kind of sad is that many of the answers are simply "to be famous". It is like instilling in their minds that the only way to be truly valued and important in life is to be rich and crazy popular (Any other option apparently is a "sucky life") even dismissing the actual professions that are modelling and acting, whether those are your real dreams or not.
These kids are too young to know what they want. Sad to say, they're too young to know what a model is, or the cruelty that comes with it. They're like 6!!
This is just moms making kids achieve their failed dreams for them. It should be only the kids who choose this. Not the parents. When a question is given to one of the kids, the mom fills in the blank. That is wrong and children should say what they want about something they feel.
dolan twins fan edits casting calls suck if you don’t go to like top level ones but top level ones suck because the people who offer the contracts make it so awkward XD
dolan twins fan edits me too I would hate for someone to get the part and not want to do it and the people who do don't get the parts like seriously they should ask first if they want to do it
Reporter:what do you want to be when you grow up Kid: a actor Reporter: why Kid: because mommy says so Yeah I'm sure that kid is going to really independent 😕😒🙇
I'm not hating, but if the kids don't know "I think..." then they shouldn't do it. If they want it for fame, they aren't going for the right reason, a manager will not accept someone who wants fame because it sounds armature and managers only want professionals or someone who has a professional personality. Parents shouldn't force their children into Entertainment because if they child doesn't want to do it or doesn't know yet, they won't work as hard
I'm a mom to a child who wants to do theatre, they do not let mom's in during the audition. I totally understand why but totally understand how easy it would be for kids to be taken advantage of as well.
Just my personal experience. My son was scouted by an important kids model/actor agency in Paris when he was the same age. Of course, it’s difficult to refuse. If I may say, he looked right what the model industry was looking for, meaning he was called few times per week and had Advertising contracts ( sadly, signing with an agency doesn’t garantie you to be called often). Sometimes, I had to decline some castings just because he didn’t want to go or wanted to play at the park. It’s not uncommon to wait 1 or 2+ hrs for 5 min casting. This stressful for everybody and of course, kids refuse to cooperate sometimes. Some parents dreams are not the child’s ones. My son’s agency is very human and respects the children ( I’m not a fan of these agents in the video). In France, when a model/actor child earns money, it is legally blocked on a special account till the child is 18. Parents can’t take the money. If you read my comment and you are a parent of a model to be, please understand that if a casting declines your child is not personal. They don’t decide alone (Ad and movie directors have to agree as well). They have specific criteria, doesn’t mean your child is not cute or didn’t do his/her best in front the camera. Don’t become bitter.
In my case it is not. I always asked my son before if he wanted to go to an audition. If he says no, well I say no to the agent. Simply like that. If an audition takes too much time, or he doesn’t feel it and he said: ‘mum i’m tired, let’s go’ then we go. I always gave him the choice. Abusing parents don’t.
Mia Donahue He is actually a happy kid who enjoys his childhood and his experience as model because nobody makes this experience a traumatized one. It was not unusual he was making laugh everybody at the shooting. There is a just balance to everything. Thank you for sharing your opinion.
I took my own daughter to a model call when she was about 9 years of age. We made it to the second round where we had to go to a city a few hundred miles away to meet the model agencies and do modeling so they could see if she really had it. i knew before they got to her that she had it. I let her chose if she wanted to do this or not and also the expenses of going made the choice for us. I am glad that she said she did not care if she did it. It was just the principle to see if she had what they were looking for.
"every girl's dream is to be a model" never was mine. my parents were actually approached and asked if they wanted to get me into modeling, by people who had a few connections (no one famous, more I know someone that knows someone) They looked at eachother then back at the lady and said no. they know i would be miserable after a few days.
Parents who push their kids to become famous against their child's wishes should have child services involvement is not fair on their child every child should have a childhood not a childhood of auditions and screen tests
When I was 5 years old I danced in a talent show (I was too young to even realize it was a contest) and afterward a talent scout came up to my mom and wanted to train me in more dance, modeling, singing, take me all over to perform and perhaps become famous. I'm so glad my mom said "No. she enjoys this but I also want her to just be a little girl."
When I was around 7 an agent approached my dad at the local mall for modelling opportunities. He turned it down, saying that I was already pre-occupied with other activities (which was true). Thank goodness he did.
The casting call scene in Bruno was one of the funniest, yet most uncomfortable things I have seen. I hope all of the parents who featured in that scene no longer have custody of their children.
Angel Sanders I don't think they're saying everything about this is wrong, just the parents who are forcing their children into this. Fame isn't necessary, and if the child doesn't want it, the parents shouldn't force that on them.
Failed at acting parents, wanting to make their dreams come true, through their children - whether the kids want it or not! It's pretty sad and controlling!
I’ve slowly wanted to get into modeling or even acting. Sadly I’ve just checked what happens is that you don’t exactly get to do something for fun. Not only that, it’s too much money! I’m kind of sad but then again, it’s called reality... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️
predators and prey. now they're going to exploit the next round of kids until they're innocence is lost. oh, and we're gonna need to process a small amount of paperwork and head shots so that'll be 189.00, but it's normally like thousands so it's a good deal cuz YOUR kid really has it! Oh, and if you want an agent we need a monthly agent fee of 99.00 until your special little victim, ehhem, i mean star, has his first role. Thousands of dollars and a contract to stay hush hush later, kid ends up traumatized.
The thing is I wish I had those parents because my parents won’t take me to casting calls or hire agents or anything like that and I have wanted it my whole life
Kids who have supreme talents always make themselves known... 99% of these kids are going to never go anywhere in the industry. It has to be natural and not forced
Other parents: You’re becoming an actor and model! Other children: Okay...? Me: Mom, dad can I be an actress or model? Mom: maybe Dad: Nope! Me: Whyyyyy???? :( :( :( Plz reply any suggestions to convince them!
Amazing what some parents do. I’m happy to say that my child does modeling and acting since she’s 4, but is also a regular kid. Does gymnastics, TKD plays the piano etc.. and also has been on TV, movies, commercials etc... and loves it.
Reporter: Tell me what you wanna be. Kid: An actor!!! Reporter: Why? Kid: Cuz my mom says!!! Me: Although you sound enthusiastic and fine with being an actor, you should only do it if that’s what YOU wanna do. Do what you wanna do in life.
"That is every girls dream." I have never wanted to be a model lol. I don't even want to be famous, I have tried to avoid any kind of attention my whole life haha. 2:09 That girl would be me 😂
it's a harsh business but if it's what u want, go for it! I wanted to be a movie/Tv actress for a while but now i want to do theatre and musical theatre, now I've been in 3 musicals and i have an audition soon!
It’s ridiculous that these parents make their kids do this. No wonder they act out and not want to do what the directors asks them to do. If the kids want to that’s great. But if the parents are making them, that’s very sad. Just like Jennette McCurdy’s mom. She made her go into acting. She never wanted to. She only did it to make her mom happy. Which is absolutely very sad and sickening.
If the kid loves it and will always push themselves to be better than I think it’s fine because they would probably make it cause they’d be happy there
I guess if the kids want it it's fine, but if it's the parent who wants it, it's just not right.
Oh
I totally agree!
Thats trueeeeee its nottt righttt!!!!!

Commercials are more diverse now
Why did zyan get called back?? He clearly had no interest in what he was doing!!
Even the kid who acted in life of pi , he was not interested but he still got the damn role
Relax he's like 5
They did not show his full audition.
He was able to show the emotions they wanted. Those are huge, as a actor photographer,I have had many of my actors cast off their emotion faces: fear, surprise, crying, etc.
Many kids I work with are not able to do that. So we have to train them.
"It's every girl's dream to be a model." Not mine!
Victoria secret.Shes like 3 years old haha. You should think about her on the cover of a childrens magazine or something.
@Zachary Sanders It's still a bit weird to think of your 3 year old daughter as a Victoria Secret model when she grows up
Lia Clarke or make sure she gets a good education and a social life without all that fame bullshit..
Reporter: Where did you get your big beautiful blue eyes from?
Kid: *pause for a second*........ My house
"Where'd you get those big blue eyes?"
"From my house."
Same, honey.
These kids are too young to know what they want. Sad to say, they're too young to know what a model is, or the cruelty that comes with it. They're like 6!!
I wanted to be an actress and a model so bad when I was little. But we never had the money to do any of that. Those kids are so lucky
Reporter: where did you get your big beautiful eyes from?
kid: my house

Honey Bunny i
I hope the parents are willing to stick to their kids to protect them from predators and abusive people
This is just moms making kids achieve their failed dreams for them. It should be only the kids who choose this. Not the parents. When a question is given to one of the kids, the mom fills in the blank. That is wrong and children should say what they want about something they feel.
I wanna go there
I wanna be an actress
I know I can do it.
dolan twins fan edits casting calls suck if you don’t go to like top level ones but top level ones suck because the people who offer the contracts make it so awkward XD
dolan twins fan edits me too I would hate for someone to get the part and not want to do it and the people who do don't get the parts like seriously they should ask first if they want to do it
dolan twins fan edits lol
Me too
DOLAN TWINS DJSKSKSKSSK
Same
the girl @ 3:52 is actually a model now
YAS
What’s her Instagram
Aspensworld what’s her name?
if you think thats taylor hill, it isnt
Yeah she’s on the Wilhelmina website
Reporter:what do you want to be when you grow up
Kid: a actor
Reporter: why
Kid: because mommy says so
Yeah I'm sure that kid is going to really independent 😕😒🙇
Reporter: "And six figures for a TV commercial!"
Me: SIX FIGURES I WAS ONLY FOUR!
Those poor kids... Some people shouldn't be able to have kids seriously
AWWW THEY DISCOVERED KATHERINE HEIGL!!! 🥺👑👑👑 she’s come so far
OH GOD.
Ughh, parents and those poor kids!!! :(
pls dont use the Lord's name in vain
Frances Ubogu not everyone has the same beliefs. stop trying to police what people say.
Seems like they have 0 passion for any of that and they just want to be famous
That's what showbiz is about, fame.
Person: "Where did you get those big blue eyes from"
Kid: "I gOt ThEm FrOm HoMe"
Woman: how old are you?
Little girl: 7
FBI: FBI OPEN UP!!
Jeez, it's been 11 years since this was uploaded today!
"every girl's dream is to be a model"
never was mine. my parents were actually approached and asked if they wanted to get me into modeling, by people who had a few connections (no one famous, more I know someone that knows someone) They looked at eachother then back at the lady and said no. they know i would be miserable after a few days.
Parents who push their kids to become famous against their child's wishes should have child services involvement is not fair on their child every child should have a childhood not a childhood of auditions and screen tests
When that mom said “Victoria Secret Model” I died because I saw her curly brown hair and her tiny innocent face aweee
I wonder how many of these kids are getting whippings for not performing.
These poor kids, let them just be kids!
Staci Abbruzzese So just how do you have child models and actors if this is so wrong???? My daughter has a wonderful childhood thank you.
Angel Sanders I don't think they're saying everything about this is wrong, just the parents who are forcing their children into this. Fame isn't necessary, and if the child doesn't want it, the parents shouldn't force that on them.
This is not how you teach your kids to love the arts
“Every girl wants to be a model”
*Except me*
Same I wanna be a teacher
Failed at acting parents, wanting to make their dreams come true, through their children - whether the kids want it or not! It's pretty sad and controlling!
1:57 "you're a failure timmy"
I don't want to be in a movie to fames. I want to be in a movie for the fun and the experience. I love acting.
If the kid doesn't really want to do it and he or she is being pushed by their mom - isn't that a kind of child abuse and exploitation?
Thousands of dollars and a contract to stay hush hush later, kid ends up traumatized.
if u think about it.....these kids might be famous rn
i really wish my parents would have been more willing to bring me to these sort of things
Don't worry, there is already too much rejection to contend with in this life.
the acting industry is a dangerous place for children...
Okay I love the little girl who said she got her blue eyes "from my house".
"Every girls dream is to be a model"
Me: nah bruh I just wanna be a successful *volleyball player*
I just wanna be an unemployed freak and eat oreos... jk jk
But the Oreo part is true
Reporter: "R u excited?“
Kid: "I don't know..."
Mom: "He's very excited, there you go."
Me: "... The heck..."
The thing is I wish I had those parents because my parents won’t take me to casting calls or hire agents or anything like that and I have wanted it my whole life
Kids who have supreme talents always make themselves known... 99% of these kids are going to never go anywhere in the industry. It has to be natural and not forced
I think it is more for the parents than the kids. It's their meal ticket.
Other parents: You’re becoming an actor and model!
Other children: Okay...?
Me: Mom, dad can I be an actress or model?
Mom: maybe
Dad: Nope!
Me: Whyyyyy???? :( :( :(
Plz reply any suggestions to convince them!
0:38 that lady sounds exactly like Miley Cyrus
Holy shit u right
Omg so true!
“Where’d you get those big beautiful eyes from?”
“From my house”
“Every girl wants to be a model”
Nah I wanna be a cat in a fishnet costume
This is so sad. Your children are people and not your accessory. You had a chance to live your life, let them live theirs.
Amazing what some parents do. I’m happy to say that my child does modeling and acting since she’s 4, but is also a regular kid. Does gymnastics, TKD plays the piano etc.. and also has been on TV, movies, commercials etc... and loves it.
I used too model it was fun but its very expensive and as you get older there's more standards like what size you are and height
Right.
This was horrifyingly sad to watch...
Well I'm the exact opposite... I wanted to be on broadway but Nooooo, that NEVER gonna happen....
Thanks mom! 😒😒
SAME
Those poor children 😭! They don't know to stand up for themselves!
"That is every girls dream." I have never wanted to be a model lol. I don't even want to be famous, I have tried to avoid any kind of attention my whole life haha. 2:09 That girl would be me 😂
I want to go there.
I want to be a model or an actress.
I want to do it because that’s what I like to do.
Frienimals Club every kid does. It’s not as fun as it sounds....
it's a harsh business but if it's what u want, go for it! I wanted to be a movie/Tv actress for a while but now i want to do theatre and musical theatre, now I've been in 3 musicals and i have an audition soon!
Me I wanna be an actor. Parents nope, you are going to be a doctor. Me like yeah yay that is what I meant to say.
me too. dude it hurts..i feel like im the only one whoever goes thru that but i guess not.
“Where’d you get those big beautiful blue eyes from?”
“I got them from my house.”
How about just one of them wanting their kid to be happy?
“Where did you get those big blue eyes from?
“My house”
😂 😂 😂
They dont know what a contract is, they are just happy they won smth!
Their parents are living their childhood dreams through their kids.
If the kid loves it and will always push themselves to be better than I think it’s fine because they would probably make it cause they’d be happy there
Six figures?? I was in a commercial and wasn't paid SHIT!!!! LMAO
