The mom knew the song about Ahtohallan because her mother taught her the song aswell when she was little as Iduna clearly states at the beginning of the movie. Probably the lullaby is passed down through generations

Even if Elsa is no queen anymore the peace she found with herself is much stronger aspect of the movie. She is a true ruler at heart. She serves now the true concept of self acceptance and brave heart.
I'm a guy in my mid 20's and the last half hour (if that is how long it felt) destroyed me. 15 minutes of sad tears: Elsa dies, Olaf dies, The Next Right Thing. 15 minutes of happy tears: Elsa is revived, saves Arendelle and reunites with the family, Kristoff proposes, both Elsa and Anna finally finding their rightful places in the world. But like you said, its ok. They still send letters and see each other frequently. This isn't like the ending of Toy Story 4 which yeah you feel happy for Woody but I can understand how it devastated some people because that was by all means the final farewell. Not this though. I'm hopeful these characters and thus this franchise still has a future.

There is a town in Italy that has a name that literally spoils a plot point of Frozen II when it is translated to English
As in Frozen II it is established that a fifth spirit forms the bridge between the spirits of air, fire, earth and water the mystery is of course created as to what the nature of that fifth spirit is. The town Ponte a Elsa translates to Bridge of Elsa, which does away with the mystery.
Oh, Italy. The country where Elsa is a river that springs from a castle.
I've seen the movie yesterday and tbh it's my new favorite disney movie
i also cried 5 times during the movie, especially during 'Show Yourself' and when Olaf died

Thank goodness, you're one of the few to recap Frozen 2 with an actual understanding of the film. I've heard it described as both hard to understand from one camp, and super simplistic from another camp. I wonder if people can ever be happy with what is, and not what we want something to be? Anyhow, love Frozen 2 and the Frozenverse in general. The two films form a complete unit and I'm just happy with how it all turned out for the gang.
There has been a thing that's been bugging me for a moment since I watched the movie. I just found this theory and it is just a theory and a bit of a stretch: Queen Iduna is from the Northuldra tribe, the existence ofAhtohallan's been in their mythology since the beginning, she herself was taught the song by her mother.
But what if Queen Iduna was also the fifth spirit and so it was kinda a fifth spirit to another transmission-hereditary thing? Or maybe it was just a reward from the spirits, for a Northuldra to have saved an Arendellian, creating a half Northuldra/Arendellian human bridge, the fifth spirit in a human shape, who's Elsa?
True that there are still some unanswered questions that a 3rd one could "possibly" answer to.
Meh. We might never know, like you never know, someday it could or not be answered 🤷♂️
To me, Elsa's death happened so quickly that I didn't have the time to process and "mourn" her and realize that she was dead for a moment.
What I like to point out is that, both Elsa's & Olaf's deaths were magical deaths, therefore, not permanent, but only temporary deaths. I mean, we knew that they would come back, and I think it's because I knew deep down they'd be back that I didn't even need to "mourn" them when they "died".
Not like the parents' & grandfather's death, those were "natural" causes, permanent deaths. That's the difference between Elsa, Olaf & the others.
I still have a hard time processing that Elsa's gonna be living in the woods alone basically with the Northuldra tribe as the fifth spirit, it'll just take time, it's fine. I was like "okay, now what?"
Somehow, we felt it too, that Elsa was never meant to stay in Arendelle as Queen and decorate the town with ice, she was meant for something more meaningful than that.
Now, I'd like to see more of what their new lives look like, Anna being married to Kristoff and new Queen of Arendelle, Elsa being in the enchanted forest as the fifth spirit,...if not a 3rd one, then maybe short movies could do.

Essentially I think it was kind of mentioned that Elsa is probably a gift from the spirits bc her mother decided to save her father. The sprits gave them a magical daughter
Only true Frozen fans stayed till the end of the credits for the featured scene. I convinced my family to wait, knowing that there would probably be an after scene, since there was one in the first movie.

2:53 it’s not the spirts or Autenauhlen it’s actually queen iduna if you watched the movie and saw the song *Show Yourself* it reveals that when queen iduna saved king agnarr she was calling for help but then the spirit of queen iduna uses her past voice to call Elsa to her and show where her power is from and her other family and yeah
Queen Iduna the whole time was actually singing *ah-ah ah-ah* and also using her voice a long time ago when she saved king agnarr and was calling people for help by singing to lure Elsa to herself and show Elsa that she is the 5th spirit/power/element (elements: wind~earth~water~ fire and Elsas element/spirit/power ice!!)

What are some of the unanswered questions you have from FROZEN 2?
If she’s the 5th spirit, or “the bridge” why do she only have snow powers? One would think with that huge plot twist, she’d be able to control a bit of everything I mean water is flowing and delicate perhaps that’s the reason why water was unlocked first, kinda hard to look at her as a “bridge” that only harness the power of one element🤷🏽♂️And does that leave room for a frozen 3 where she goes full on avatar and control all the elements?🤔 if not It feels that the whole 5th spirit thing is a bit forced for the story and not very fitting... cool concept, but I’d need more for it to really stick with me and sell me on it

Elsa and Anna's mom knew the song because of her mom. Queen Iduna's mom sang it to Queen Iduna when she was little.
3:16Elsa woke the 4 spirits, but i don't think they were unhappy? as stated later, to make it right for what the grandfather did, they needed to destroy the dam which would have destroyed the kingdom. so the spirits were essentially making sure the people were not killed when the dam broke. or that's what i got from that?

Yes the books were helpful! Though all of them that have come out before the film was released have very vague endings and don't even cover the 3rd act.
4:45 this is wrong information, they don't find out until much later in the film: when elsa goes to the place that's calling her, the last thing she sees is her grandfather sneak-attacking the Northuldra leader

Its really sad that i got so hyped up for frozen 2, yes it was amazing and the animation was godly but still. F2 was rushed, the tv spots and trailers was so dramatic and they put things that didnt even happened/ they said something that didnt show in the movie which was sad. otherwise really good.

This is basically Frozen two in a nutshell
I have a question that is still not clear after watching these explanations that I hope someone can answer. What exactly is calling Elsa in the beginning? We see the singing is from her mother, but how? Was she just calling out to her through the spirits from the past? But if she called elsa in the past, knowing she was going to help, then why did she go with Agnar to look for answers when it seems like she knew all along? That makes no sense, so was it the 5th spirit? If the 5th spirit called her, then Elsa isn't the 5th spirit. If she is, then how could she call herself? Is the 5th spirit a separate entity that made Elsa her vessel later on? But if that's the case, then why wasnt it sleeping with the other spirits? We can kind of see the 5th spirit in the beginning before Elsa was born at all, so I dont quite buy that she is the 5th spirit entirely but that then raises the question, why did it wait for her parents to die to call her? Why did it wait at all?
BUT WHAT ABT OLAF IS HE ALIBE OR NOT I NEED ANSWERS

Basically the movie is a celebration of pagan mythology found in plant eating cultures.
In those societies the goddess is venerated because woman share in the self same power of earth..to create and sustain life.
The earth brings forth life giving food just as the woman brings forth life from her womb.
In those cultures it is the goddess who is the principle deity.
Elsa becomes "the bridge" between nature power and humanity just as in so-called patriarchacal cultures it is the priest who acts as a bridge between God and man.
Elsa, therefore becomes priestess of the goddess or a goddess herself and Anna becomes queen of a matriarchal society.
So in short..the movie is subversive in the highest degree and CONSCIOUSLY anti-christian as ALL Disney films have always been.
Spirits, magic, veneration of the goddess as creator and sustainer of life.
