Fondant is typically made from marshmellow base, and marzipan is either made of apricot or almonds. The feel may at times be similar and you can use them to some of the same things, but they are different both in taste and texture :)
Goo question. Check out our how to make marzipan paste on our RUclips channel or videojug website for a easy guide! Or if you're short for time you can pick up pre-made marzipan from most large supermarkets.
Nice tutorial. Thank you!! My only complain would be about the cameraman,- kept moving the camera either too close or too far, so we missed some important moments, very annoying.
Gorgeous! Do you have a tutorial for "how to make marzipan-for modeling"? I you do pls let me know where to find it-I tried but couldn't find it. Thanks
Hi. We do indeed have a video on how to make marzipan. If you search for how to form marzipan paste on our channel you should find the video. Let us know how you get on!
Videojug Food Thanks-I suppose I did get your video where you show how to "mix" marzipan paste! I was kinda looking for your recipe. I make it a number of ways-with eggs(whole eggs not only the whites) and without eggs-have been using this to cover cakes n make fruits etc since a long time. But was impressed at how well your paste held up-thus asked for the recipe! But I do understand this would be wrong. It's asking too much. I apologize. So thanks a lot! I love n really enjoy your videos.
I have a request to make little chinchillas for cupcakes... Any suggestions? Thanks... I will be making rice crisy treats and molding them into small mountains to place on top of cupcakes and covering with "grey" colored frosting... Just so you know the scale of what the chinchillas should be... Thanks again!

dont need gloves, or a hat, chefs do not have to wear them by law! some kitchens will have a hat in your contract as a uniform requirement, but not gloves unless handling raw meat!
Hi Naomi. Marzipan is an almond and sugar confection which we use in the UK for icing cakes and cake decorations. Because it forms a quite a stiff dough it's great for moulding. We're not sure if you have it in the US but you can make it by following one of our short tutorial videos.
Scoff We do have it in the US, just not as popular. I don't know why not, it is great in flavor and at the price of purchasing fondant, just as economical. Maybe I'll start a trend here across the pond! LOL!!

tutor is beutiful...
how far ahead of birthday can I make these lovely marzipan animals
Hi.These should be fine for a week at least. Make them up and pop them in an airtight container somewhere dark and cool. Hope you enjoy the birthday!
Wow
why?
Not really: they just need to have very clean hands and their hair does not risk to fall into the food like that...
Who ever said she needed to wear something is not right. She is making a demo not a cake
try exercising with a grip ball first lols. :-)
i know that it wasn't a play dough, i just say that for fun... XD
how do you make the marzipan in the first place haha
Natali. Jessica
play-dough!!
As long as the hands are clean, I'm fine. But YES, ALWAYS COVER YOUR HAIR. Being cute is not an option when you're working with food.
