I've very much enjoyed doing 90s fashion show reactions on my channel! When I was in college, first becoming interested in fashion, one of the first designers I researched and studied was Gianni Versace. His impact on fashion and culture in the 90s was both iconic and tragic, but the way Donatella carried on the brand really inspired me. I'm really close with my brother so I literally cannot imagine!
This 90s fashion show reaction is to Gianni Versace's Spring/Summer 1995 collection. Gianni transformed 90s fashion with a sexy approach to nighttime dressing that set a new precedent for women's styling. Slinky slip dresses and ruched column gowns only accentuated the beauty of iconic 90s supermodels like Carla Bruni, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell, Karen Mulder, and so many more.

I also watched the entire show, and I noticed every time Yasmeen came out she received a very noticeable amount of applause from the audience. That really says something about how she was modeling the outfit as well as her runway style.
Yessssss! I mentioned that as well but edited it out because you couldn’t hear it as much on my video. But the applause was always booming for Yasmeen!! Rightfully so!

Yasmeen was very popular in Italy. She was the face of Valentino, appearing in TV commercials for Valentino in Italian language. She also appeared as a video vixen in the music video of an Italian alternative rock band, and she inspired a character in an Italian comic book series who was modeled on Yasmeen, with a mixed Pakistani and German heritage and similar physical features. As many of the shows took place in Milan, I presume the audience might have been majority Italian...and Yasmeen's dark features and feminine sensuality might have resonated with the Italian aesthetic sensibility...

Yasmeen was SO epic. Yasmeen was a supernatural beauty, beyond beautiful face, brilliant mind and that incredible….best in the biz…once in a lifetime cat walk! I recognised Linda, Helena, Naomi
I loved the details on those blazers and coats with padded shoulders inspired by 1940’s and 1980’s. Loved the chandelier earrings. The flow of the clothes. All the models looked like beautiful healthy women….no starving models (they make me worry and want to rush to them and give them a big hug and a hearty 3 course meal).
I would like to see Iman, Jerry Hall they were also fabulous, spirited and unique.

I wonder what these young women, their agents, the designers, etc. would answer if you asked them, "What is a WOMAN?". I can almost GUARANTEE the answer and it's NOT what you would hear if you asked the same group of "women", designers, agents, etc. that same question today. THAT is why IT looks as it does today and IT is OBVIOUSLY a GRAVE devolution.
After Yasmeen,'s Yellow Dress, the model in the Red Dress was Karen Mulder, n she was another Supermodel who could work it out on the Runway ❤️

Yasmeen’s walk, her poise, elegance. She walked to show off the clothes. I wasn’t a fan of Shalom or Brandi’s walks. They made it all about them. Yasmeen was the total package.

Brandi Quinones at 9:00. She was always a bit extra when she walked but that’s what made her stand out from others. She was also really young compared to the other models for this show. She definitely proved herself by becoming a Versace girl at such a young age.

Although we can expect Yasmeen and Naomi to serve, I was particularly impressed by Brandi Quinones. Her walk was like a cool breeze - so light and fluid. Her entire body seemed to be engaged rhythmically in movement - she really was feeling herself whether it was induced or not…
Induced!!!! Ahahahahahahaha I love that word. I absolutely agree here. Brandi was extremely impressive and more than held her own - she thrived!
@@MalcolmSoaries I mentioned 'induced' because Brandi's demise was reportedly attributed to a drug addiction...she was not as fortunate as Naomi and Kate who were able to overcome their addictions and maintain their success.

Thought you'd like to know some of the Pre & Post story of Power Broker Carla Bruni; you gave her a 'spin girl' at 7:45. Chapter 1: Carla Bruni came from an old-money dynasty of intellectual Jewish industrialists from Turin, Italy. My nickname for Claudia is “Bounce.” Her walk always has a bounce to it. Fun fact: I think it was Elite who turned her down because apparently without make-up on, she was very plain looking. This was in the AppleTV The Supers documentary or the one at Cannes.

She wasn't in the Apple TV documentary. I wish she was though because she's one of my favorites. Fantastic in print but yeah her runway walk DEFINITELY needed work. Although I didn't notice it back then when I was watching these shows on CNN Style with Elsa Klensch.

@@MalcolmSoaries If you're talking about CNN Style, I devoured that show as a teen in the early nineties. In addition to the fashion shows, they used to also do model profiles, and that's partly how I knew the names of a lot of models around that time , even the less famous ones. I can name almost every model in this show.

I just loved the whole show and this collection and this collection of gorgeous girls! Look how long ago the corseted look was all over the place, before others and still relevant today. This is one of my all time favorite Gianni shows, besides the iconic ANIMAL PRINT show. How about you do a reaction video for that?

I love my Yasmeen, but you’ve got to give it up to Helena, Shalome, Kate, and Brandi too. (Brandi Quinones was totally feeling it.) Not even gonna say a thing about Naomi. We don’t have to go there. It’s Naomi! To be honest, the models show themselves at their best when they really enjoy the clothes and the show… and they all loved Versace, so you always had a great show.
The Versace shows are my favorite! And Shalom and Brandi are my other two favorite walkers for sure 🙌🏾💯

You know, now that i see your reactions to this Versace fashion shows i realize that the models of the 90s were the ones who made fashion special, it was them all the time, i mean, you see models today and theres nothing, just girls with no expression on their faces walking like robots, with no personality. This women of the 90s were truly beyond just modeling; Claudia, Jasmeen, Carla Bruni, Nadja Huermman (2:20), Naomi, Shalom, Amber, Helena, all of them were the real reason why fashion was so exciting in that era.
I think I have all of them on my list except for Nadja! I’ll circle back thanks for the suggestion 🙌🏾💗

Naomi and Kate stood out in this runway show!! Yasmeen is great but she was not the star of this runway show. I feel like this was when Yasmeen started wanting to cover her bottom. If you go through her career at the end she became very cautious about her bum and started trying to cover it and hold her jacket over it. Her bottom started getting bigger and she was very uncomfortable about it. No one talks about that. I think people are still trying to figure out what happened with her. Her religion and family started getting to her. Naomi and Kate were the stars if this show!!!
I actually agree with this take! I loved Naomi and Kate in this show. Yasmeen is actually now on Instagram but still isn’t a very public figure. Seems she just retired to live a simple life and start a family.
