Upon request, I took a deep dive into the wonderful world of Todd Oldham in 90s fashion. I admittedly wasn't familiar with the name, but it turns out that makes sense. He left the fashion industry and retired from putting on his fabulous runway shows to pursue other creative endeavors. His efforts in home and lifestyle niches, aside from his surprisingly good looks, pleasantly surprised me. Oldham still currently runs a creative studio displaying his work in photography, books, fashion editorials, and more!
The Spring 1994 was one show on my long list of reaction requests and this got us off to a great start. Oldham incorporated trends like metallics and tie-dye-inspired prints long before Gen Z even knew how to dress themselves. I was so impressed with the inclusivity of the models, the diversity of the garments, and the overall energy of the show. While I do love being an '89 baby, this show made me wish I was older in the 90s! The energy of the 90s is undefeated, which we see everyday with recurring fads and endless reboots becoming the new normal.

Tod Oldham was everything in 90's! The 70's - 90's fashion and runway shows are unmatched.

Oh holy shit I had a black and white daisy babydoll dress in 1996, empire waist, flower detail at the straps and under the bust. I wore it with a pair of black wafer platforms with white flower detail and hunnnneyyyy my pins were ON FIRE. I was a goddamn smokeshow in that ensemble.

@@MalcolmSoaries she was before Naomi but didn't reach Nomi's precipice plateau. The only girl that has outshined Naomi would be Cindy. Both were involved in EVERY MEMORIAL MOMENTS OF FASHION. Cindy also had moments outside of fashion: the Oscar dress, Playboy Cover-which garnered mass appeal well before the rise of the big 5; her huge long run Revlon contract.. I saved the two biggies for last which were MTV and the. 1991 Superbowl Pepsi commercial.

@@MalcolmSoaries I was the same age as most of these super models. I started following the models since Christy Brinkley, Carol Alt early-mid 80s and remember the ushering of the 90s very well. I purchased a Glamour cover of Cindy August or September in 1987 where Cindy wore a red hugging sweater with the scarf attachment and she hugged herself. I was just blown away by her beauty as gay man. Then I started recognizing other Barbie's adding them to my collection. Yasmeen appeared globally in 1990 and by 91 she became international. Vogue's 50 ANNIVERSARY which features a front and back of two different outfits featured 10 girls:
Cindy, Linda, Christy, Naomi and Tatiana from the original 5
The other 5 with the originals were declared the world's top ten ushering in this era.
The remainder of the five:
Yasmeen Ghauri, Karen Mulder, Helena Christensen,Nicky Taylor and Elaine Erwin. Yasmeen was never underated so ever. She was in every major shows+ .She was one of the 7 highest paid cat walkers even ahead of Christy Turlington and tied with Naomi eclipsed by only three others which were Cindy, Claudia and Linda.
Here's what was wonderful about this era, there were so many other gorgeous creatures to the point I was oversaturated with Barbie's. I can only brush so many heads in a day...
