    Are the perp joints full?
    Also in all these bricklaying videos on RUclips you never see brickies scraping the surplus mortar from the cavity side! And yes I am a city and guild trained brickie

      Iv noticed that too. Always wipe the snots as you go…… these guys won’t show the few hours they’re cleaning cavities at the top of their lift. It would be beyond chaining

    • @brunoinc384
      @brunoinc384 2 года назад +1

      Residential wood frame only has about one inch of cavity. It’s seems like In the uk your residential is similar to our commercial in terms of block work and insulation in cavity. Where it’s more critical for tooled joints on block work and clean cavity. On jobs like this as long as you have a good wrap and seal sill and penetrations you should be fine. Brick are not water proof.

      If you know how to spears mortar properly and not use enough mortar on 1 course to lay 4 you don’t need to scrap shit. I can tell your slow as fyck if you are using 5 times the amount of mud…slow enough to talk shit anyhow.

    All the way from Detroit to Mississippi you are doing your thing

  • @kingscooby4191
    @kingscooby4191 3 года назад +2

    Now just a bit less mud as you spread to save on the wrist and easier faster to level each brick and you’ll be really slinging them in fast!

  • @tonylinardi3089

    That technique seems to have your thumb riding the line. Only good if you are working alone on the line. Thumbing the line is taboo.
