I have watched this entire series and it is nothing but inspirational. Well done Sam. The one thing I do not understand is how anyone could give a thumbs down to any of these videos. Sam is beating the odds at every turn providing the best sailing content on RUclips, absolutely. Keep them coming Sam and if you ever make it to the West coast again I hope to see you on the water. Safe sailing Sam!
Vince did a great job on the cabin. Sam that could be your northern command! Sam that is about the calmest I have ever seen the ocean off Ireland the sea is so flat. Wind is usually 35kts and the sea is 20ft tall!! My you continue to have good weather, say hi to Vince, God bless and good winds.
The Irish Sea can also be a devil. But that cottage! Oh my. And with a thick stone walls and light roof no worries about weaving fords, well a lory maybe
I remember a line from a movie once an American was talking to a Northern Irelander, "In America our oldest houses are 250 years old!"......to which the Northern Irelander replied "Our newest houses are that old!"
I know and appreciate that this is basically a sailing channel. But sometime, take the time to come back to both Ireland and Scotland and drive through both. They are beautiful, historically relevant and the people, sights, the music and culture are all wonderful.
Still catching up on some of y our older videos. It must be amazing to discover new places and try out different kinds of food. I don't see you fishing much
I am a new watcher. I have really enjoyed what I have seen so far. I also like it when you talk to locals so as to get a taste of the region. Thank you.
I find these videos intriguing. Sorry Sam it’s pronounced Ma lin head rather than may lin head. Great video. This area is the best place in Ireland to see the northern lights and night sky viewing in general. There is nearly zero light pollution there.
Looks like that bed was installed prior to the roof being completed; it doesn't look like it can ever come out through the doorway, at least not in one piece.
Just as a thought. Boil your eggs, peel them and put them in a plastic or glass jar with a 50/50 mix of water, vinegar and salt. Great for snacks and they last for a very long time!!
@@CaptRon817 It's really not so much about the taste, as I generally love pickled things... it's the rubbery texture. But maybe I just got a bad one, haha. Thanks for being a GOOD sport. 😄
I feel like there may have been some scotch consumed before the Sam Holmes Saxophone Concert was performed as well.... Great video as usual, always beautiful scenery and entertaining.
Just saying I really like your videos. In a previous video I made a comment that one thing thing I enjoy about them is you get right to it. Other RUclips channels spend/waste a minute of the video with canned music and drone footage. It’s over production. You’re a are raw but a little refined. Thanks for sharing and producing just good video.
Sept 27-28 it looks like Sam has found his air to get to Norway. He is pushing along the NE coast of Scotland at 5.5 knots with a 20 knot tail wind. I can't wait for his next update!
Sorry to have missed you I live in Inverness ever time I went over the Canal I wondered if I would see you. But became so busy as my husband was in hospital. But he is home now. Any way another time if I am alive and well. Mean while fair winds and following seas.
I grew up fishing around the north west coast up in Sligo...your very lucky with the weather it gets pretty hairy around especially from Sept on to may ..
All that gentle, near-calm, wind is one of the reasons the UK is currently having a little energy crisis. The UK gets almost 25% of its electricity from wind turbines. And wind generation has been down by more than 50% over the past month. Many UK energy suppliers have been forced into bankruptcy. Slow and comfortable sailing. But bad news for many UK energy consumers. Loved the bothy. But I didn't see any bathroom facilities. It's very scenic and romantic. But its also basically camping without a tent. '😉
Discovered sam recently and ive finally caught up watching all of his vids. been an amazing journey watching him fix up the boat and looking forward to more adventures.
Oh my here I am watching another episode of Sam Holmes Sailing and suddenly I hear Sax music and see weird things happening to the video feed. So I thought who the heck spiked my drink XD. Another great video. Thanks for sharing!
Great video! Loved the bothy tour! Those bothys are brilliant. While traveling in Scotland years back, I stayed in a few and was so grateful that they existed. I wish North America had such a setup!
What a life you have .... I'm happy for you I work away from home I stay in a vw t4 transporter work all over Scotland good luck my frend..jay from t4 lovers ♥
Love how everyone Sam meets is a new friend. Life as it should be.👍
I enjoy the little tastes of the local cultures and people. It rounds out your sailing videos and gives life to where you are visiting. Thanks.
Loved hearing what Vince had to say. Meeting a local person really makes a visit interesting.
Great visit with Vince and his restoration. Beautiful countryside too. Thanks Sam for taking us along with you. On to Scotland!

Good4Vince for improving the aesthetics of his habitat! Lots of labor of love and well worth it!

"This is my new friend"....a lovely notion for every landfall along the way.
Every time you speak of great weather, you should kiss the boat gratefully. 🎩⛵️
Yep, get rid of Predict Wind and enjoy all that Neptune has to offer.
That was a great interview. Absolutely beautiful landscapes and contrast. Thank you.
We love it!
Sam that was special. You’ve taught me a new way: “this is my new friend” very special. Many Thanks
❤️
Your stress free World class sailing is borderline therapeutic....👍👍👍
Vince did a great job on the place. Thanks Sam. 👍👍
I am always amazed when I watch someone else’s video and you pop up in it ! You really get around !
Nice to see a sailing channel that shows some actual sailing and not just a bunch of drone shots of scenery
Yep, Sam has it dialed in!
So neat to meet a local! Thanks Vince and Sam
Vince’s cottage was sooo cool! Thanks to you both for sharing it!
Great video, nice to see the stone hut reused. Such an interesting story.
Thanks for taking us with you.

Sounds like a variation of the old, “Americans think 100 years is a long time, and Europeans think that 100 miles is a long way.”
Love your new friend Vince💕 the cottage restoration is amazing.
Thanks Sam for another great video ⛵️⛵️👍💕💕
"Never had one lesson." - Ferris Bueller
This comment make me laugh. funny....
This comment wins! :)
I thoroughly have enjoyed watching your adventure unfold; with all the beautiful places you visit and interesting people you meet.
Really cool cottage thanks for adding that. What a treasure.
wow, super cool info from Vince, awesome cottage.
Great job you’re doing with your channel, Sam. And enjoying the world as you go along. Good deal. All the best.
Gorgeous sailing!
Loved seeing the cottage and keeping up with you each week! Be safe. Sonya from Nashville here.
That little stone house is awesome
Its been fairly calm here up until a week or so ago, so you were lucky. Glad you got to see some of Donegal.
Enjoyed Vince's house.
Remarkable as usual!
Cool episode, Sam. Thanks!
That mouthpiece solo was killer!!
I really enjoy your view of the world. I find it very calming. Subcribed!
too cool, Sam. Vincent’s great work is appreciated globally with this upload. way too cool
Very nice. Thanks, Vince! And I really like how Sam inserted some still shots of the process. Perfect addition.
I know and appreciate that this is basically a sailing channel. But sometime, take the time to come back to both Ireland and Scotland and drive through both. They are beautiful, historically relevant and the people, sights, the music and culture are all wonderful.
Love the cottage piece! So cool, great job Vince…
"Every stone's a building stone." That's a metaphor for something.
Excellent thinking
Awesome job, Vince...Thanks for restoring that cottage!
Thanks Sam very interesting
Still catching up on some of y our older videos. It must be amazing to discover new places and try out different kinds of food. I don't see you fishing much
I swear Vince could have been casted as Balin in The Hobbit. I can't unsee it.
That interview with Vince was VERY cool. Thanks Sam for all the great vlogs. Ron
Great to see people the world over renewing old things instead of building or making brand new, we need to save resources, and our history.

Just realised, that you are floating around out there tonight! Your a cool chap. Who shows us world.
Thanks again for sharing your awesome adventure. I hope you are blessed with calm seas and safe travels ✌️

More locals interviews! That was wonderful

No offense, but pickled eggs are the worst 'food' ever invented. Lol
@@annehedonia156 haha, well I guess we all have a just opinion. We kept them on our boat and had them many times as a GOOD snacks. Have a good day!!.

"we'll probably make 1 more stop but I'm not sure where..." Itineraries is such an over rated concept.
Haha... Been like that all my life.
Thank you Vince for the beautiful restoration tour! Thank you Sam. Onward to Norway, fair winds Skipper!
Thank you for the update Sam!

9/29 Holed up near Wick. Some weird air currents in the North Sea tonight! looks like Fair Isle tonight......maybe the Shetland Isles tomorrow.
You’re a good man, Sam, and you have all the skills. Mucho respect to you
Thanks Sam and also to Vince for showing his Bothy.
One of your best Sam! Thanks
Great video as usual Sam, loved the cottage as well.
Was not expecting “150 to 200 years old”. In my mind I think every stone building like that in Ireland must be a thousand years old.
Welcome to Ireland Sam hope you had a nice time take care safe sailing.
I’m from Ireland, but live in Hiroshima. Pop by Japan some time and we’ll show you around 👍 Enjoy Ireland
I'll come 😊👍🌍
Heading North during the Winter months... Ooooh boyyy
Did they bring the Murphy bed in through the roof? I get the feeling it wouldn't fit through the door.
Very enjoyable piece - keep them coming please
Stop and enjoy the countryside before Scotland! Thanks Vince 👍

Man of love this trip you're doing man, so much more interesting than the Caribbean.
Loved the chat with Vince. More meeting new friends as your travel content!
Congrats on the Nuvo Instrument WIN🥇!

Bravo Vince! Nice work!
Go south when the wind is right, the weather can be harsh so far north in the autumn/winter months, go towards the Kattegat between Denmark and Sweden
dude that cottage is so freaking cool!

Extremely proud man of his town and project
Great video Sam. Always look forward to seeing your adventures.
You should play the sax for the dolphins the next time they show up and see what their reaction is.

Vince and Sam. Two chill dudes

Another great video thankyou 🙏👍👏🏻
Thanks for sharing, watching from Ohio, USA.
I would love him getting his own RUclips channel, it feels like he is a natural in front of the camera.
Get yourself to Greenock and climb the Lyle Hill to the Free French Memorial. The view is fantastic. Up and down the Clyde. It is an absolute MUST.
