Looking at the work that he is going to do, oh me oh my. I will only tackle checking my oil and transmission fluid. I check them because I do not want what happen to two friends of mine. Their engine blew. I need my 96 Mercury Cougar to travel.
@@DubYaJsWorldwhat were the part number on those gaskets ? If you have them by chance that’ll be a big help. I have the same exact truck with the same exact issues . Hope all is well and to hear back from you .
@@nickgray4646 I don't remember the part number, you can get a schematic from any Cummins service center, it will have all the parts names and numbers. This center is in Richmond Virginia, you can call them and get that schematic.
Damn big dog I wished you would've hit me up. I always run wood stove/BBQ door gaskets on all that exhaust stuff and never had a problem. It's available at any hardware store and super cheap, around $10 for 10-12 feet. Also comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
Oh really?! I'll keep that in mind because I might have to take it off again if the OBD2 scanner with Regen doesn't work. I'm still having the same issue but I have a the last part coming tomorrow. Hoping after I run Monday the derate doesn't come back.
So I have a local Cummins dealer that actually is a service shop for the Cummins engine in box trucks and semi's. Where do you live? I can possibly get the the shop information.
So from what I'm seeing I would try this facility 3760 Wyoming Ave, Dearborn, MI 48120 A lot of those dpf parts were on heavy back order but I think of you need gaskets and things you should be able to get them.
@@jaz313det it did for a little bit, I think my dpf at the time was actually going bad. My check engine would only decrease my torque by 25% so I could still get down the road pretty good
If you have the same dpf, you can call a Cummins repair center and get the full diagram of the dpf. It will give you every sensor and every part number.
You can do a forced Regen on it. That is the cleaning process on the truck. You don't have to necessarily take it off to clean it because of that process. Do you have a check engine light on?
Ahh okay, what is the truck saying you mines per gallon are? My truck says 12.5. the exhaust light has to be in the do Regen, if it doesn't come on automatically then the only other way to get it on is a scanner.
So it’s just a scan tool not a diagnostic tool? You can hit the cruise control and the up button to get the code reading. Well on a international truck
@@DubYaJsWorld ok. @@DubYaJsWorld love’s mobile mechanic did came out to look at it on Monday and pulled the codes but being on the road seem like it’s difficult to even get a dealership to look at it much less to a deep diagnostic test so I might be in a hotel for weeks
Those codes have something to do with your DPF, it would be wise to see what's going on with it. It can put your truck in to reduced power mode and have you doing 5 miles an hour with a load. It's going to be expensive most likely, anything with the DPF will cost!

I would love to, I think they are handing out big fines to those to delete that stuff. It's a pain in the butt and they are making it harder to deal with.
Yea my truck derated for a def sensor…it’s been down at the dealer 3 weeks because the “def head sensor” is on National back order 🤦🏾♂️hopefully he doesn’t have the same issue
Wow, they go through corporate channels to get their parts. I'm finding damn near everything I need on Amazon. The next sensor I have to replace is $285 at Cummins and $89 on Amazon. When it gets here today I'll be putting it on and doing a forced Regen.
As they say, "A nickel holding up a dollar"! Sometimes it's better to spend the money and get rolling. Money is time and time is money. Stay safe out there sir. 😎👍🙏
High pressure inlet could have been the EGR delta pressure sensor ports that usually get clogged and can't read pressure sending a code.
💯Great info. for us DIY'ers....💪🏽👏🏽
Thanks, more to come!!

Lol yeah those checks are critical! Engines will last a million miles of you keep good fluids in them...and don't drive it like you stole it.
Nice to see this done.thank you.

You can get the rope kind that's 1/4" thick and is good up to 2000 degrees. Always been good for me

My scanner doesn’t work with my semi. What scanner do you have?
I have it in the description. You might have to go with a higher end scanner and make sure it does heavy duty.
BoxTruck couple suggested your channel.
Oh really, I appreciate them!!!
Which one of the scanners do the force regen
The one I use is in my description. I think it was $170 or so at the time I bought it
