We spent around 24000 upgrading our 27FB which is almost always boondocking. First, 3” lift should be standard on ALL airstreams, second if you plan on boondocking you will need the lithium solar upgrade
Your videos are amazing. 34 minutes and zero edits/cuts? Wow! As per usual, nicely done! And kudos to the camera operator, as there are the two of you doing this, and from what I can tell, seamlessly! 👏
Just saw this model at a recent Airstream RV show in VA-LOOVVEEE it with one exception …Can a Laveo dry flush toilet replace the cassette toilet or black tank? Black tanks are a deal breaker for me! Thanks for always making the best, informational videos Patrick!!
Really, really solid and detailed tour. Especially useful is the way you somehow keep things simple while making it relatable to those of us who aren't yet up to speed on all things AS (yet).
I love your videos. Just stumbled upon them. So much more comprehensive than most. I can easily tell you know your product inside-out! Well done 👍 Having a dinette and a pair of recliners would be a nice combo. Too bad that soda portion that extends from the dinette area couldn’t be made into a pair of recliners with TV that swings out in front of them…or even somehow mounted on the cabinet doors. I know it’s a bit lower class to do it that way, but maybe airstream could pull it off and look higher-end ;-) That way it’s directly in front of recliners. People are hooked on TV…it’s the direction designs are going.
I love the layout of this one. The combination of a long couch, dinette booth and twin beds all together make for a large number of friends that can be invited over to party. Is there a version of this one or any one that replaces the last couch section under the TV with a desk that floats up and down and a rolling office chair? Is that an option that I've never seen before? Could you direct me to a video? Thanks.
Pat's presentation on Airstream Trade Wind was informative. I would opt for a Euro cassette toilet. The one you pull the tank from the outside and wheel it to a bathroom.
Beautiful rigs. I"m retiring in December and am seriously considering a used Airstream. Here's my concern: even used these are damn expensive. If I'm using it regularly it'll get pretty beat up which will likely accelerate depreciation. Seems like a smart idea to buy a rig for half the price if it's getting used and abused. But nothing is as nice as the Airstreams.
Totally see your logic. Picked my pottery barn up November of 2022 and dragged it 6,500 in 2023 and am going to be over 11,000 in 2024 and am also retiring the end of the year. Just finished a 10 day caravan with my local Airstream chapter and am so glad I personally spent more for what I got. It’s the first big purchase I have ever made I didnt have buyers remorse after buying it. My wife loves to get out and go on hikes and treks along the beach but my happy place is inside the trailer and I personally do not think that would be the case if I’d bought one of the others at 1/3 or even half the price. Just my two cents worth. Plan to pass it on to one of my kids when I’m done with it in 20-30 years and I know I wouldn’t be able to do that with one of those.
We are all watching this for a reason❣️❣️❣️ Thank you universe and Mother Earth 🌎 Let’s really appreciate the beauty of creation 🌈💕in love. Sooooo excited 🥰
Patrick, One composting toilet question but first you always do a great job with your walk through! Thanks for every one of them. One question about the airstream Trade Wind composting toilet option. There seems to currently be limited information about how it integrates into the tank system. From what I can find Airstream just blocks off the Black water tank when this option is chosen. Is this true and then it seems a waste of that tank. If true can the black water tank be connected to the gray water tank increase (Doubling one’s gray water capacity) by your shop? Does this cause a warranty issue if done? If your shop cannot any recommendations or concerns with evening doing this? Thanks
Perfect length! Will it go off road! Unsaved that is, no dessert? I must say, this design is the best I’ve seen! Love off grid for boon!. docking. Who manufactured THE FRAME????????? So, $142,000 + + + + +……….with all the frame failures. This is a must know question. Extended warranty???
Boy do I agree! Not to go off roading through rough dessert terrain, but at least rough unpaved roads. The rates being charged a Camp Grounds with zero room between campers is insane. I think it is very important to be able to park on government land. Go to a camp ground once a week for laundry and water or whatever. Once you add all the extras, internet is a must. People are spending well over $60,000 a year to camp. Better have a very well packed savings account. Dang 39 gallons fresh water won’t last a week, unless you don’t mind being a bit stinky. Giant bath wipes are a big help, the kind they use in sick rooms. This requires allot of research. But the design is so workable. Don’t like house guests in a camper. Drive your own.
Salesperson? Really Patrick you are much more than that. Doctorate in Airstreamology maybe. I didn’t see where the Lithium batteries were. You said they were not in the usual box on the tongue.

Do you notice any detriment to road holding or windy trailering with the extra 3" lift?

Airstream offers two toilet options, anything different woudl need to be done aftermarket.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
Thank you for the excellent video of the actual Airstream we just bought from Colonial yesterday! Can’t wait!
Have fun!
He gives the best quick, understandable review for any Airstream we have seen in the past years. Thank you from Texas.
Thanks for the compliment. Patrick sells them for a living, please contact him if you are interested in purchasing one.

That is fancy and luxurious looking
Love the idea of the Trade Wind.
Go for it
@@colonialairstream I would buy it and go straight to the Cabot Trail!!

Thank you! You too!

Thanks for the support and for the suggestion.
Marvelous tour👍👍like the split bathroom.
Great!

@@jeffwallentine6466 I really like the Tommy Bahamas.
TQ Patrick. Little details... QR codes 4 Help, clothes line,SPLIT bthrm,sterio/ outlets galore, twin beds, bumper guards, cvrd cooktop. THAT FRIDG & FREEZER ! PLENTY room 4 doggies🐾🐾
Deal!
For that kind of money it should have power stabilizers, and an onboard generator along with 1000 watts of solar power.
I really love this design. Be nice to know the weight
Very nice. I need a bigger sink. Maybe have the sink caty corner 🤔
Great idea!

Just 2 words (Liz Amazing)
I missed where the batteries are.

For the cost of these trailers they should have power stabilizers and power steps
Another great walkthrough Patrick. Love your videos. Will you be at the Hershey RV show this year?
Yes I am!
@@colonialairstream Great -- I'll see you there!
They should replace the axles with independent suspension to make this off-road and off-grid capable.
That is a good idea however 95% of driving is on the highway.

I was wondering... if you're driving an EV pickup, can the trailer batteries provide additional electrical power to power the EV pickup?
Only if you plugged the truck into one of the electrical outlets on the trailer once you are parked, it would provide a small charge.

Has anyone put a ramp in the the back for wheelchair access?
Not that we are aware of.
Put a Kurt suspension on it and I’d be in love. ❤
Can someone get this guy oxygen
Very nice. Also much better colour the grey than that orange 🤢🤮😂
