I’m not and never was a Soaps fan but this intrigued me as it was the backdrop to my early years , my parents were avid watchers and if you wanted to stay up you were forced to watch Corrie.. so early 70’s Corrie with Mrs Walker n Mrs Sharples et al were very familiar figures - watching this episode took me right back , thanks for uploading 🙏 👍🏴
Doris Speed (Anne Walker) used to read some of her lines there and then from the monitors hanging from the ceiling. You often noticed it. In her scenes you'd see her gradually look up at a monitor very carefully so no one noticed, but I think they did. Can you download from RUclips yourself?
The Street used to be wonderful programme. Nothing like it is nowadays.
The writing is wonderful. Touching, subtle, funny and real.
Brilliant. Pity it can't be like this anymore.

What a beautiful singing voice Hilda Ogden had!
"Now you all know the strain I've been under of late."
"Oh, we do Mrs Walker, well we've seen it in your face"

Are you uploading every ep from 1973 onwards? I don’t want to get hooked if it’s only going to be a limited number. I love classic Corrie

I do love a wee blast of "alma pola"
As a fellow "Mrs O", I like it too!
I had forgotten how good "Coronation Street" used to be.
So sad that it is a mere shadow of its former self.
Thank you so much for uploading!
