- I usually don't use the live view a whole lot but I wanted to try something out.
If you put looping midi-clips of different lengths on different tracks you can get some really nice polymeters!
The bassline also changes notes every bar and randomly adds a few variation notes at the end of every bar to make the transition to the next note sound more natural.
This is the most virtual riot title ever
Lol you’re so right
ya half step is such a great polyrhythm
Meshuggah dubstep when?
People have nightmares about AI, AI has nightmares about VR
1000% would watch you do this for an hour live on stage. Call it a creative listening experience
Modern day Jean-Michel Jarre
It's live-view though, not live-creation. Pretty sure the entire track was made beforehand? Looks like it unless I'm missing something. Still slaps though
@@juanjo_sound you're right but he's still constantly editing parameters and it could still be a fun live performance
@@juanjo_soundI’ve prepared the drum loops, the samples and the bass sound but the drum-loop changes with random fills, the bass line is progressively picking new notes on its own and I start/stop parts and change parameters on the polymeter sample group :)
@@VirtualRiot youre a legend bro
Love the glow on the screen
How does he do that?
@@danielgeorge7075 Deep Glow AE plugin
@@klipnitytbh I made it manually in premiere 😅
@@VirtualRiot I got so excited for a sec there, thinking it was some third party addon that I could toss on ableton :(
@@BrakenMusic you could probably use reshade for this, although i've never tried it myself
honestly love the look of ableton with bloom
was just thinking that, gonna have to figure out how to make it permanent pre processing
I was just thinking
G L O W
What program do you use to get that filter effect?
@@2024style prolly some video editing software like premiere pro, after Effects or davinci resolve
bloom coming in in ableton 13
honestly I hope so, it’s not like the GPU does much when making music anyway so idk why daws aren’t updated to look prettier
its already in bitwig!
the way you put "wanted to try something out" in the description implies you were just going about your day and thought of this entire setup
Well, yes 😅 that’s exactly what happened
@@VirtualRiot Only you can follow a whim and casually make a masterpiece
'AI will kill music' more like VR will kill music
Bro you've gotta integrate stuff like this into your sets, this is ableton at its fullest potential.
bro it tied together so nicely when the bass came in that i almost came too
yo wtf 😂
I love the little shifting of the vocals and the stereo positioning of elements in this ! 💜💯👌✨️👽🔥
this needs to be a full release
Blown away by how clean the bass sounds
Yeah that bass was so smooth… even through iPhone speakers
ableton with rtx on
2:59 Bassline so futuristic his Mac fell into a tesseract created by future humans.
Ok but can we talk about how beautiful the ableton looks with that shine?
Omg why cant ableton live just look like this naturally. So pretty
if you made a 1 hour long randomly generated beat like this I would watch the whole thing without getting bored
nedward spotted
this feels like a bonus level in tetris effect
i love this sound so much! thank you for sharing
Im listening to this over and over, even if it's not even a "real" song lol
someone stop this man.. hes using all of the music
i like your funny words magic man
damn, thats nice 🧐
YOOO
i need skin with glow 😤🔥
So is this the future of music? This could be applied to so much!
WHERE DO I GET THAT SKINNNN
Those glowy shaders look so vibey!! Can I get that for FL? I would love to have this!
I love liquid dnb and I love Virtual Riot but I never expected the two to come together. And it was exactly what I needed
Hella cool
This man has more talent than most musicians. He's incredible.
Next video title: Live-view Cold Fusion reaction, Matter Creation and Unifying Theory Solved
relaxing🤫🧏
sounds nice but bit too "raw" on my little speakers
+little of room reverb on drums (just choose any "tasty preset")
+light multiband sidechain from drums on musical group (-2db ish)
+little of of saturation on master (just stock ableton soft-line saturator without clipping)
i guess just a little (rly little) touch will be enough to make it great
* am not sure but i should try ;))
Yeah I fully agree, didn’t really mix or compress anything here haha 😁 I want to try this again but with a bigger setup, more parts, variations and maybe trigger clips and control the parameters with a launchpad instead of my mouse :)
@@VirtualRiot VirtualRiot i mean it's not such an issue, and ur channel is more about sound design instead of mixing n mastering. and i like the glowing effect u put on video. so i guess few sound effects might be good. not a deep sound engineering balancing work but just a light touch. thx for ur videos n streams. great content. best regards ;))
omg i need the skin or whatever video filter this is. also sickkkk performance!!!!
I'm once more feeling dumb and useless. Bro's out there slapping Samples into loops, creating some vicious DnB magic and I can't even eq my bass properly, so it would fit my mix lol
man, I would love to know how you mix to stay out of the red in Ableton. I've been grinding, learning about gain staging etc., but I always seem to push into the red no matter how much I eq, sidechain, etc. I feel like there's something simple I'm missing.
dude why is your Ableton glowing like this??? I want this too? Is this a video bloom/glow effect? I love it soooooo much!!
Riot please join Geametry Dash music library 😔😔. Your unic music is amazing ;b
I honest to god wouldn't be surprised if one of these days you just randomly generate everything in a song and just release it.
Just open Ableton, load your racks up and then just hit export.
How did you get several midi clips playing at once from one midi track (the drum rack)?
imagine virtual riot artist reveal for geometry dash, would actually be so hype
super duper cool!!!!!
also, how did you get your ableton to look like that, with the glowing buttons?
this isnt just super cool technically this is like amazing music and im adding it right now to my playlist on youtube music
cool
Is this Ableton Theme a thing or just video editing? With this colors?
Nice idea... Never thought of doing polys this way before....... :)
Is this just filtered or is there some sort of thing in theming that has changed? I saw this on a few other tutorial videos recently.
do you add bloom to your DAW just in post or can i actually produce live like this
I didn't think there would be liquid that I actually enjoy, but here we are 👏🏼
Every day, VR ascends to godhood.
Virtual RIot pls tell me how you made this bass, cause it sounds too good
f*ck off, mate. this is so amazing and beautiful.
So who’s sending this to 8bitdrummer?
Is it postprocess effect or some included in Ableton skin mode?
The chord progression had me guessing the whole time haha
Is the glow effect video edited or is that part of Ableton itself
I love this man
This glow in Ableton is a Skin? or one video effect?
This is the type of shit that Jacob Collier would love to count
Using ableton live as actually intended 🤯
Loving the racist samples
Did bro just put reshade on ableton? 😂
generative music live show soon?
Please drop the Skrillex ID
we have evolved past the need for music production
Really cool, this going to be on the Patreon? Would love to play around with this.
Why not build your own? 🙂
@@airfixx_8952 because I have no idea how to
@@nova2wl - Which part?
Whilst clearly very well executed; the principals at play here are fairly achievable. I'm reluctant to hijack someone else's channel, but a couple of tips……
Polymeters can be put together a number of different ways so long as you understand the basic concept of what they are (a quick wiki should suffice on that front). Essentially; it’s just a series of loops of different lengths all running at the same tempo. (Here VR is running midi on a series of diff tracks and routing them all back into the same sampler, but you can also just use multiple copies of the same sampler instead if the routing feels too complicated)
As for creating generative melodies; there’s lot of good videos on YT that will get you up and running using the stock Ableton midi tools and a few other tricks like 'follow actions' and the 'chain selector' in instrument racks.
Perhaps as a start, watch the video again in slo-motion as 90% of what you need is laid out right in front of you.
Good luck.
You should do a live ableton Dj set using this idea
I’m subbing to patreon later fs
its been 6 days without vr supply
we need this deep glow as an actual live theme
add lyrics tell cesar i love him back 😅
you're literally so good like how do you do this
It reminds me of the RC505
How do I get that ableton skin??????
The melody reminds me to skrillex for the chords
i think we need a new aka for this polymeter stuff
VR edm legend
Loving Ableton with RTX on
whatd you use for the cool glow effect on the vid
2:59 minute of healing😍
why did i read this as polymer and not polymeter
Cubase is crying, alone in a corner
I see polymeter is a thing now..
The panning at 0:36. Damnnnn
i can't believe my ears
full release onaygai
everytime surprised
Bro, I love you. Hahahaha

is this reshade on ableton ?

Title = Bloom
ears, eyes candy
Sooo cool! I first thought that you are going to do a livestream, but I’m glad you don’t as I’m going to a blacklist event in Germany now 😅
This is maaaad
I feel safe here.
