One thing I'm kinda glad you pointed out is how the bass influences the fullness of the drop more than the supersaws, you just confirmed something I was starting to notice myself. Recently I've been making the bass and leads first and that did make me feel like "whoa it already sounds kinda nice even without chords" and it's funny how some time later when I felt like the drop was lacking something I did exactly what you said and added another bass layer
Yeah, I noticed this when I was trying to make melodic dubstep like Crystal Skies and just stumbled upon a bass layer that instantly gave me something close to the sound all those tracks have, basically by accident. The only other part was a crash/white noise that added high-end energy. The chords were otherwise pretty tame.
dude, your creativity when it comes to both sound design and arrangement is litteraly insane. keep up making what you do and blessing us with these vids 🙏
I’ve noticed that in your songs (especially your latest album) the supersaws aren’t as loud since the bass pretty much carries and fills the top end when you layer them. I started doing that and major improvement mixing wise on my part. Amazing tutorial!
Tutorial is awesome, but i just wanted to comment on the quality of this. It genuinely sounds like 2024's version of Energizer/Activate. That lead makes the whole song to me. Next level melody and sound. Seriously love this. ❤
I'm sorry to say this but I haven't even heard the original version, but it's just funny how good this Remix is! I'm glad you made this walkthrough. That melody from Diva combined with the seamless workflow you've got makes this soo trademark of yours.
bravo. your shit is so clean, dude. just looking at the spectrum analyzer as the song plays, every element has so much clarity even when there's so much going on.
I accidentally discovered that bass layering idea for better chords when I was trying to replicate a Cystal Skies style track. It's really crazy how well it works.
I love what you did to this song! Would you be able to release another version with the 3rd chorus another awesome slower melodic drop rather than fast?
12:36 I say this with nothing but the deepest love and admiration for Au5, who I absolutely adore. BUT... (And I might be wrong, and I'm just being nerdy here.) I think the progression here is vi, IV, I, V, I (first inversion), IV, I, V. (6, 4, 1, 5, 1/3, 4, 1, 5). Not a big deal. Forgive my pedantry.
Is there a link to the mentioned Mash Up of Cheerleader and See you again? Also really cool tutorial. Love the remix, hope it gets uploaded on yt as well! PS. How did you get the main instruments of the song. I know you probably can, but I'd think you didnt recreate everything by hand
Ok so this is kind of a weird question, but you mention you ripped the vocals from the song and made a remix, then uploaded the remix to bandcamp. They recently updated their TOS, which includes a section about copyright: "You must own or control all rights to everything you upload. That means covers are out, unless you have a written license or authorization from the artist to upload the cover to Bandcamp. Do not upload cover songs unless you have obtained all permissions and authorizations in writing!" Does that not apply to remixes? I figure if you made something like this project with a ripped AI vocal instead of the official acapella, then.... that would imply it wasn't made as an authorized thing, just a fun project (I know some artists have done this in the past, then submitted it to the original artist, and gotten approved to replace the AI extracted acapella with the official one, thereby making it an official collab thing) so I am REALLY curious about this. I'd love to get more into producing remixes thanks to tools like UVR but the way I thought bandcamp worked, meant I wasn't allowed to upload these kinds of things, so I've kind of just avoided practicing them. Especially to upload on other platforms like spotify and apple music and such - in other words, if written authorization is obtained (to make it okay for bandcamp uploads/sales) then it's also okay for other distribution platforms
Yeah it's not technically legal if permission wasn't sought from the original artist/publisher, but Porter doesn't care about going after bootleg remixes that are listed as free. And if one day he does care he can file a takedown request and have it be taken down from those platforms as well, no big deal. Legal is all about risk management. Don't do anything egregious like uploading a remake of an artist's song as your own original without any permission or even attribution from the original artist, that would be crazy and definitely extremely risky. On the other hand if you're a smaller artist and you remix a bigger artist's already successful song and put it on platforms where you don't earn money from it through streams or downloads and you know that artist doesn't care if people remix their songs, there's not much risk. You're not hurting them in any way that would be easily demonstrable in a court case.
@@jambalaya974 while I know Porter is likely chill about it I know record labels have the final say in the matter, which is why I was curious - if this is/was authorized it also will end up on Spotify and such, so, fingers crossed!
the amount of genius in every au5 video is ridiculous

Even though this song is like 10 yrs old, can we see "Follow You"? I have always wanted to see how that track was done.
Au5 and Porter Robinson should collab for a song.
Try the MDX-NET-HQ4 model..
Better than original ngl
True. The original song's good in its own way, but this dubstep flip is my jam!
Where is the see you again mash up?

How tf isn't Au5 more popular, having the reputation that he has? I'm confused
