When I was in grade school I had a whole binder that I’d bring to school and show my friends, but my home at the time flooded so my cards got ruined. I finally got into collecting again, I’m really happy I found your channel, your content is amazing!💯🙏🏼
I got into Pokémon as a child but didn't start collecting cards until around June of last year! Watching videos of people got me back into collecting again ♥
8 years ago a random kid was playing pokemon cards in the park and i ask him if i can play too, suddenly his mother told him that they were leaving so he gave me one of his pokemon cards and write his name on the back of it and he says "gonna catch them all seeya" it starts me collecting cards and hoping to see him again
My grandmother bought me Pokémon red back in 2003 and we’ve been stuck on Pokémon together ever since. She passed away back in 2018 but I’ll always cherish the memories we made over Pokémon. I got back into collecting cards again shortly after she passed just to keep the tradition going with my son
I just started my Pokemon Collection in the January by an accident, hahah. The first pack i got was a vivid voltage booster pack, i openeded it and got the rainbow pikachu. SInce then ive been trying to complete the whole Vivid Voltage Master set. But its hard since im only 16 and in Sweden Pokemon cards cost alot. But ill take it slow and easy. Im really enjoying the community and your awesome quality content!
I´m also back in the Pokegame by an "accident". Someone lost or threw a Nessa V3, Kiawe V2 and Calebi AR away. With a bunch of other cards but they were too played. And my first pull from ViV was Memory Capsule Gold. And now i´m addicted.
When I was 4-5 years old, my mother’s friend showed me Pokemon on TV and he was also collecting since the beginning, so I got more and more into this hobby. I am a very gifted anime fan for over 15 years and work with many anime channels together, which also made me more and more interested in Pokemon. It was just a great experience as a kid to open your First Booster and you were happy about every card. The highlight was on a Neo Genesis Booster when I pulled Lugia. At that time very pleased and today a strong price value. And here it’s very hard at the moment, because the Pokemon market in Germany is booming due to well-known streamers like Trymacs and you get nothing more, whether it’s on Ebay because of scalper or in stores because everything is sold out.
When I was 5, my mom told me that my aunt was giving me a Pokémon plush. I said,”What is a Pokémon?” And then she told me, and me and my siblings started watching the anime. Then we found out there was cards, and my mom made a compromise. She told me that after I went to Jewish school on Sunday, I would earn a booster pack. So then we started collecting, and then I was hooked. Now 6 years later and I’m still collecting.😁😁😁
My brother with autism loves Pokémon as much as I do, and it’s one of the ways we are able to spend time together. You can name any Pokémon and he can tell you it’s national pokedex number in a second!
Me and my father would go to the stores when I was younger and complete the sets. It is actually one of my fondest memories of me and him before he passed away. Still have all the original binders we made together and wouldn't trade them for the world.
I learned about pokemon from my brothers and after a while they gave the stuff (cards books and some cool other stuff) to me as a present and now i love all pokemon things and try to get as many cards as possible
I just back into Pokemon. I used to play when I was young and I was clueless how to play and I only liked the shiny ones LOL. Then quarantine I started trying new things and then ur very first video was in my recommended so I started watching you and Randolph Pokemon and I got back into. I lost all my old collection which had some really nice vintage cards which were shiny of course. But when I moved houses I gave them away. My collection is still very small. All my local stores are always sold out for Pokemon stuff which is super lame. But me and my younger brother still sometimes get lucky and find some dollar store packs. This is my first time entering this giveaway. I hope I win something that would be soooo cool me and my brother would love that. Thanks again for helping me get back into pokemon. :)
When I was younger, my dad bought me a pokemon card tin and then, everytime we went to the toy store, I wanted to buy packs. Now that I'm older, I restarted my collection because I can now buy myself some packs and I still love the feelings I get opening packs. Love your vids, btw, you're giving so much to the community❤
How did I get into Pokémon: because of my awesome grandma! Let me take you back to 1998: I'm a kid living in the UK, but half my family (including my grandmother) are in the US. Now, my grandma was (and still is) incredibly on trend - she's the cool grandma everyone wishes they had. I visit my grandparents house that winter and she gifts my sibling and I Pokémon Red and Blue, because she went hunting for "the best" and this is what she found. We were instantly hooked and long plane and car journeys were a total breeze from then on (to the great jealousy of friends in the UK who had to wait until the next year to get their own copies). But, it didn't stop there - she single-handedly found a super niche Japanese store in the local area that had a direct pipeline to Japanese Pokémon card and toy releases BEFORE they hit the US market at large. I'm not talking a run-of-the-mill comic/anime store, I'm talking about a store that nearly exclusively catered to Japanese folks. Now, remember this is the late-90s in suburban America - the internet isn't really a thing for most people yet, let alone older people boldly setting out to find Pokémon cards, and yet she found this place, struck up a relationship with the staff and managed to snag the absolutely best sets way before anyone else even knew they existed. I know, I know - this is more of a paean to my grandmother than Pokémon - but she deserves the credit!
My love for Pokémon started from my older brothers. One of my brothers let me play their Pokémon Red on their game boy color. One of those bulky handheld devices, from their stemmed a love for Pokémon and I started collecting! Regretfully I gave away my collection to one of my younger cousins 10 years ago, but now as a broke college student I've fallen back in love with the nostalgic game and cards!
I started collecting the cards when i was a kid after i got into the pokemon world with pokemon diamond, i bought my first booster pack shortly after rushing through that game.
Love the videos! I originally watched the shows as a kid & slowly started collected. Sadly lost all my old cards, but I've been loving getting back into now!
I was a kid in the 90s when Pokémon blew up. I remember at recess seeing clumps of kids who were either playing TCG or showing off their cards/trading. It was a fun time to be alive.
Thank you for these videos! Literally makes my day! I got into Pokemon with my brother on the early 90s. I remember trading a 1st edition Charizard for a holo mew back in grade school... rip
I'm originally from Vietnam and when I was little, my uncle got me some Pokémon cards when he visited from the US. It was around the year 2000s so those cards might be worth a lot now but when I moved to the US I had to leave them behind. I started collecting again last year and I recently finished my base set. Super excited to see how Pokémon and the community is growing😊
I collected when I was a kid trying to make friends. Then all my cards where thrown away bc they were considered a waste of money. Lol now watching RUclips I’m seeing Pokémon is the hottest thing out and I’d love to start collecting again with my god son who is really in to the new Pokémon. I personally love the older first edition one. But he’s never seen them. This is all fairly new to me just started watching ur channel 3 days ago and love it
My son started kindergarten this past fall. A few of the older kids on the bus got him started on Pokémon and he loves collecting the cards. It has brought the kids friendship and something fun to look forward to at the bus stop. Thanks for making the videos, they bring joy to people around the world.
5th grade I went to Walmart with my friend and ended up getting booster packs, I had always played Pokémon but never opened any packs, when we got back to his house I watched him open them up and I instantly got hooked into it
"To enter like the video and comment below" OHP dont worry. I was going to do that already 😎. But anyways, story time! I've always been into Pokemon since I was a kid, but I was just got back into collecting recently last year. What started it all was seeing Leonhart's video being recommended to me, which I found to be random since I've never searched anything pokemon related, but im glad it was! What really peaked my interest was that he was getting his Shining Charizard from Neo Destiny back from PSA. Seeing this video unlocked a nostalgic childhood memory because it reminded me of my old collection and how my card with the most sentimental value was my Shining Charizard! After that it was gameover, went on a binge of Leonharts videos and eventually got me into buying packs. Thus, my channel was created! I am having a blast with this hobby, met so many people within the community who share the same passion and other content creators and it all traced back to a single youtube video :,)
The truth is when we were all younger and at school if you weren't into Pokemon and if you weren't trading cards you were the weird kid. So I got into Pokemon to prevent myself from being the weird kid. Fell in love with it ever since.
I'm Brazilian and when I was a kid my parents couldn't buy me pokémon cards, but there was a Japanese guy on my street who had many of them, he kept showing me the rarest ones and telling me the stories of each one. 22 years later I decided to fulfill my childhood dream of having my own card collection. My childhood was a difficult time, but it was still amazing!
I got into it at a younge age, i played platinum at around 5 having no idea what it was, but i came back when i was 7 and i fell in love with the game, it was so fun and iv loved the games ever since! Super excited for bdsp :D
Back in the days: I wouldn’t go to swim lessons, but when i went and i did great. My mom gave me some pokemon packs! And since that day i collect them all😉
Haha, similar situation for me with baseball. When I didn’t want to play, my mom would say “I’ll give you a pack if you go and do really well!” It was enough to motivate me to work harder, and get some packs when I did well!
I started into pokemon when it first came out in 1998, then I was hooked on the show lol. One day I went into my local card shop and saw that they had a collectible card game for it, must've bought pack after pack whenever I could until I finally lucked out and got my charizard base. I collected into neo, then I branched into the next popular tcg that came out in 2002. I threw out my cards years ago, at the time it made sense, but now I realize that wasn't the best choice lol. But im back into the hobby now, collecting and playing again. But im trying to chase down all the cards I can of my favorite pokemon, Scyther and Scizor.
@@berryl4522 Was this meant to be a response to the initial comment or a response to Pat asking when we got into Pokemon? I hope he sees your comment, regardless. It would suck to not be able to be a part of the giveaway from messaging in the wrong place. I figured I would ask, just in case. Good luck! I am sure Pat checks ALL the comments, to be fair. He's an amazing person, from what I have seen.
@@infiniteaaron i could copy and repaste just to put it in a separate comment. I may not have payed attention to where I put a response when I was at work lol. Thanks for watching out for me
I used to collect and even play the card game in my childhood, but then i lost all of my pokemon during moving to a another home. I started collecting them again since Burning Shadows and now It's a collect obsession with seeing the new artworks on the newest sets. I never played the videos games in my childhood but the cards were always really special to me❤
When I was in primary school I started to go to my cusions house after school some time and then I watch pokémon on TV and looked at his growing collection of amazing pokemon card it was amazing so amazing I want to collect but my mum couldn't afford it and since I lost my mum last year. I think about collecting something to make me happy and then I thought about my cusions when they collected pokemon xx that how I started collecting this year to bad I do struggle geting any pokémon card there all like second hand but all in OK condition good anoth to make me happy and good news is I found out my older nephew love pokémon too really ace xx so I be over to win this ace prize
I just started Pokémon a couple weeks ago I don’t have very many cards and your vids are pretty cool if I win this obviously would be the greatest start to my Pokémon carrier thank you
Giveaway Entry Ticket: One day coming home from school about 7 years ago, my friends was holding some kind of cards, I asked him if I could have one of his “Pokémon Cards” and he happily gave me a base set unlimited Arcanine! I didn’t know back then what or who that was. Ever since that day, I fell in love with everything Pokémon. I am now 12 years old and still cherish that one card he gave me till this day. Pokémon is a huge part of my life now ⭐️ ✨
My mom actually bought me my first ever pack from McDonald's happy meal in 2012. This were the black and white mcdonald's cards that I cherish alot and spend time doing as a hobby. A hobby that has last me up until now still collecting pokemon cards all thanks to my mom!
My friend showed me his collection so after that I started collecting and pokemon is favorite thing to do and I love watching it and I’m addicted and I love ur channel
I've loved and collected Pokémon since I was 6 years old, nearly 10 years ago. I still have some of my old cards and have memories of trading with my friends on the playground. I've loved the game and the art on the cards and it's essentially my childhood. Much respect to you and other Pokémon youtubers for keeping the memories alive :) yall are awesome
Got into Pokemon as a kid growing up in Mexico. I remember having a lot of what I am sure now was knock off Pokemon tshirts and other clothes. Didn’t have money to collect cards back then but as I grew older and moved to the US, I started purchasing cards. I love that Pokemon is something that is experienced all around the world. We all have a unique connection of being kids when Pokemon came out and great to see people like you keeping it alive.
I was in first school when base set, fossil and jungle came out. I can remember the excitement of opening up boosters that my mum had bought my sisters and I and the utter scenes that erupted after pulling “shinies” of your favourite Pokémon and couldn’t wait to show them off on the play ground the next day! I have been in love with collecting ever since!
When I was a kid, for Easter instead of hiding chocolates for me to find my parents would hide booster packs of jungle, fossil and base around the house :p I have very vivid memories of searching for packs
I first got into Pokémon when I had came to school in 4 th grade and my friend had these cards that were called pokemon cards I had no idea what they were but when everyone was showing me them, I instantly fell in love
I started collecting pokemon cards only thanks to my old friend who is in my hometown. He was good to give me one of my first card wich it was a common zubat from like 2012. I didnt go crazy, trying to collect cards because my family were in a tight spot and didnt want to cause trouble. Now were living a bit better and trying to win some stuf to fill this little hobby and have something to know why i care for things
DUDE The complete Japanese set looks AMAZING. I love the art of the old school cards! I started collecting as a kid when Pokémon first came out and haven't stopped since!!! I love the rush of opening packs and getting that special card. it feels so nice!!
Love your presenting style man, not shouting at us like other youtubers but still exciting! I got back into cars collecting during lockdown, bought a pack, then a few tins, now I’m on to ETBs. Great fun collecting again.
My brother and sister had pokemon cards and I asked if I could have a card and my first card was a Charizard but at the time we had no idea how rare are cards were and I have all of my cards in mint condition and have a few Charizards
I only started with my Pokémon addiction 6 months ago. My11 year old son loves it so I thought I would collect with him. I had no idea I would become so addicted. It’s such a great thing to get into with your kids, we are treasure hunting any chance we can !
I first got started when Heart Gold Soul Silver was a set still in rotation. My sister bought my first pack of Pokémon. My family then decided to go traveling in an RV. After awhile my collection got to big for the RV, so my mom decided to sell a whole binder of my collection for $1 at a Thrift store. There were a lot of old cards there. I was very upset, I never even got the $1 ): though later when we decided to live in a house again, years after the binder incident, I decided to start collecting again with my siblings. And now I go to PTCG tournaments every Thursday at my Local card shop.
Love your videos!!! I also got hooked into pokemon when I saw Charizard, Blastoise, Venosaur, and Pikachu!!! Now I'm a HUGE fan of you're channel!!! Love you're videos please keep you're great content up online and elsewhere!!!
Got in to pokemon as a kid and never fully stopped, some small buys here and there, but when i got older i started buying more stuff, vintage and new :D
WOW! you are the best pokemon content creator! I got into pokemon at school, all my friends were playing it and sins i bought my first pack i can't stop. I just love the art style and the comunity around pokemon, it's amazing. I just love it to have a game in your own hands and not on the computer, it feels more real. I really love collecting stuff aswel.
My brother bought me a pokemon urshifu set for Xmas and I enjoyed the quality and artistry of the cards. I feel like pokemon artists are very serious and talented. I'm hooked now!!
The reason I got into Pokémon because I’ve been watching your videos for about like a year it’s been a long journey thank you for making me like Pokémon :)
Traded Pokémon with my friends on the bus in middle school; then forgot about it. Then years later my daughter got a pack in her happy meal that had a holo Pikachu. Now we’re the Pokémon family.❤
Hi pat. I just love your videos. I might be your biggest fan😂. It’s increatible how much you give away and I just want you to know that I think you’re a great person. Thanks for making your videos to cheer me up and probably others
Started pokemon when I'm around 5 in 1999. With the pokemon cartoon being played at 5.30 everyday. I'm always infront of the TV. Even till today playing all types of pokemon games, I guess this hobby will never grow old to me. Love to win one! Great content Btw
i watched this video when it came out and i always wanted to collect all of the gym heroes and now im currently in the process of getting them all in english psa graded. thank you pat for the inspiration!
I started collecting when I was very young and remember trading cards with my friends from school. Recently after moving across the country, my parents got rid of a lot of my old cards…. Which got me back into the hobby of collecting. So I’ve been following poke RUclipsrs and collecting for the past year now. It makes me feel like I’m a kid again.
When I was around 4 or 5 I saw the pokemon 2000 movie from there I fell in love with the legendary bird trio. I then managed to pull a first edition holo Zapdos cementing my love for the franchise.
Getting into pokemon was just a simple way of being able to hang out with my sister at the time when we were never able to be close and yet we still play and collect cards to this day!
Before my 6th birthday, we took a trip to Sydney (in australia, where I live). I remember going into the store with my Dad. I don't remember anything about the store (it must have been a hobby store beause my dad collects models), but what I do remember is look at the pokemon theme decks in the store. There was a pangoro, meowstic, and helioptile theme deck. The next day, I was suprised by an early sixth birthday present, the pangoro and meowstic theme decks. I also remember my first battle, using walrein to knock out my dad's machamp. On my actual birthday, back home, I got my first ever booster pack as a small present with some m&m's, and pulled the full art lucario out of furious fists. I didn't think it was a big deal back then. After that, I had many amazing memories with pokemon cards. I started collecting during the early xy era (mostly theme decks and battling with my siblings) so sets such as flashfire, furious fists and primal clash are my favourite. It's amazing to think that flashfire packs go for upwards of $60 now. I great memory was early on in my collecting days, I remember opening up black and white starter tins from the hobby store with my siblings. They must have been released befoe the first black and white sets, because they have at least 1 ex era pack and 2 platniums, including supreme victors! (If anyone can find the tins, hit me up. They have an emboar, samurott or surperior as the promo. Pretty sure they were released in 2011. Cannot find any existing copies for sale, but there are videos of them on the internet.) During the xy era, I did not pull any regular ex's, just full arts. I pulled about 4 out of 38 packs (counted my bulk rip). It sounds insane, but it was true. I did not pull a regular ex until after the xy era. I would love to open more xy era packs, but they are really expensive. I have been opening modern sets, though, without as much luck. I know this has been a bit of a rant, but I really love pokemon cards. I have kept all my bulk and remember pulling many regular cards. I would love to collect more things such as slabs and more packs, but they are expensive, especially in australia ($6 per pack and $200 for booster boxes of modern sets). This is my journey with pokemon cards, and I hope you enjoy them lots aswell, not just getting caught up with the value of things. Appreciate the memories too. I really hope someone reads ths.
I watched the original Pokemon shows and wanted to get some of the cards. I was so happy when I got a Salamence holo on my second pack. Salamence is still one of my favorite Pokemon, not only because of the design, but also his backstory.
I started Pokémon when my friend gave me a jolt ion tin then I thought that I the cards are fun to play with then my cosine gave me over 200 old cards from the old sets but at the time when I was 9 we didn’t realize the value and then I started my collection just from trading and no buying cards and I have over 2000 cards today.
10 years ago, I was collecting Pokémon cards for my son, but later on it has become one of my hobbies. I now own, among others, 8 complete base sets with one is shadowless.
I got into Pokémon from RUclipsrs like you and poke rev I started, and my brother had lots and lots of Pokémon, including some jungle I believe I was five when I got into Pokémon, but I for some reason, stop collecting for two years and then I started collecting again at the age of 8 I was a very serious collector I loved collecting and I’ve gotten some great cards over the years. I have three Charizard ultra premium collection, box promos, and I pulled some heat in that box. That was my Pokémon journey.
I got into Pokémon 2 years ago. I’m 13 so it’s been hard collecting but I’m so happy when I pull amazing cards I love the collection I have right now and Pokémon is really awesome!
A friend asked me 2018 if i would join for a pre release turnament of pokemon. I had 0 idea how to play and started to learn it a few days before , it was quite simple but yet very fun to play. I immediately fell in love with it and started to buy theme decks for me and my friends so we could play at home, now i got over 40 different ones and also got into collecting single cards and opening up boosters because its makes a lot of fun even tho its quite expensive :D Love your videos , keep it on . Best wishes from Germany :)
when i was a child i loved the anime and me and my friends used to collect lunchables that had random pokemon on them to pretend to play then the cards came out so it was just awesome lol the 1990s was great
My brother got me Pokémon cards for Christmas in 2000 and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I recently started getting back into collecting and would love to have a super cool gift from someone who rekindled that flame for me. Love the videos!!
I got into Pokemon when I was 7 years old. I went to my friends pool birthday party and was given a fighting energy and a machoke both from base set unlimited. I was instantly hooked lol. I remember that next Christmas my dad put fossil, jungle, and base set booster packs scattered on the limbs of our Christmas tree 🎄!! Always will remember my excitement! Still get a similar feeling these days when I get packs not gonna lie lol. Great content man and good luck to everyone entering!
I’m pretty sure I started watching the anime a couple years ago and some how, found out about Pokémon cards and then started collecting and started trading them this year

Watching the tv series when I was a kid got me into Pokémon remember buying my first base set packs as a kid from the local game shop !

OHP dont worry.
My best friend and I were the weird kids for liking Pokemon :(
I'm Brazilian and when I was a kid my parents couldn't buy me pokémon cards, but there was a Japanese guy on my street who had many of them, he kept showing me the rarest ones and telling me the stories of each one.
I used to have a little black-market business at school and used to sell and collect them so i could buy more packs.
Back in the days:
I wouldn’t go to swim lessons, but when i went and i did great.

Pokémon is a huge part of my life now ⭐️ ✨
In august 2021, at my camp my friends were bringing Pokémon cards every day. So I decided to join in the fun

Love this hobby. My son brought me back 20 years in time. And now we share the fun :)
When I was a kid, for Easter instead of hiding chocolates for me to find my parents would hide booster packs of jungle, fossil and base around the house :p I have very vivid memories of searching for packs
look at his thumb dancing at 6:03 lol
I love that entire Japanese set I would love to get that
Growing up as a kid my teacher gave me a stack of base set cards, and ever since than Ive been into pokemon! :)
I got back into pokemon after the Logan Paul box break, really ignited my love for pokemon again! So happy pokemon was made.
My cousin and I played Blue version a lot on his atomic purple GBC. Here I am like 15 years later...
I got into Pokémon when my moms co worker’s son gave me all of his old cards, from there I’ve been playing ever since.😄😄😄
I first got into Pokémon when I had came to school in 4 th grade and my friend had these cards that were called pokemon cards I had no idea what they were but when everyone was showing me them, I instantly fell in love
I got into Pokemon through my childhood friend, John. He let me play the original red version on gameboy and I was hooked!
🔥
I got into Pokémon in grade school and me and my friends would go down to the lgs every Friday and buy packs of legendary treasures for $3 each
Love your presenting style man, not shouting at us like other youtubers but still exciting! I got back into cars collecting during lockdown, bought a pack, then a few tins, now I’m on to ETBs. Great fun collecting again.

While you opened the Japanese full set o saw a shiny tangela and I had no idea that was in that set
My brother and sister had pokemon cards and I asked if I could have a card and my first card was a Charizard but at the time we had no idea how rare are cards were and I have all of my cards in mint condition and have a few Charizards
So this just teaches everybody who sees this comment is to keep your pokemon card In a great condition because you could have the next super rare card
I love Pokémon so much
Ty
It’s crazy how that the channel grew so quickly, back then it was at 11k and now 150k subscribers!
I was hooked on Pokémon once the show started airing back in the 90’s. Gengar is my favorite.
I started when I was 5, because all of my friends were playing and had the cards, so I join them an alarm 10 and I still collect
Got in to pokemon as a kid and never fully stopped, some small buys here and there, but when i got older i started buying more stuff, vintage and new :D
Thank you pat. For burning the money for all your fans. You didn’t have to do that. You were the only one brave enough!! Thanks again.
WOW! you are the best pokemon content creator!
So pretty much I was 4 and I just wanted to become like my brother! He was super good at the game and I just wanted to beat him.
The reason I got into Pokémon because I’ve been watching your videos for about like a year it’s been a long journey thank you for making me like Pokémon :)
I started Pokémon because of I’m watching your videos. You have inspired me over the few months. I’ve watched you I love your videos.
I just started collecting with my kids. But cards are too expensive. But my son Peter Jr loves your channel. Keep making my kid happy
My dad bought some packs for my brother and I over 2 decades ago. Pokemon still makes me smile! thanks for the great content
Thank you for taking some time of yours and use it for these great videos and ideas I really live this channel and the epic hits
I’m 13 so it’s been hard collecting but I’m so happy when I pull amazing cards I love the collection I have right now and Pokémon is really awesome!
give me a follow and stay tuned for my giveaways 😉
My dad showed me this show he watched as a kid and I fell in love!
