I e been to both. Lived in Thailand for 10 months as a scuba instructor. Had a gal from the Philippines for 4 years so visited often.
Philippines is poorer.
It has more amazing beaches (7000 islands) and they have a colonized psyche
Thailand is a very proud country - with a king/royalty that embodies that pride.
More modern and more industrialized it’s also richer having access to mainland.
I find Thai food more interesting due to the influences from other countries.
And the joie de vivre is more predominant in Thailand.
All opinions, of course.

@@mizraw9200 it’s a bit more expensive- like 10% in general - but more options in terms of variety of landscape, food, and cultural experience.
If you’re into churches and bands playing 80’s covers at bars… you’ve got to try Philippines.
But for a great mix of palaces, Buddhism, royalty, modernity AND beaches AND local traditions like in the mountains of Chiangmai… yeah.
I think I’d choose Thailand if I were to go on a holiday again right now.
I guess it’s me. I don’t and can’t have fun with BIG MAMAS.
