    Benjamin Walker is a tremendous talent. I first saw him in The War Boys and was very impressed with his acting. I had no idea he could also sing and dance.

    There is a clear Christian Bale influence in the way Benjamin portrays Patrick, and it's a great thing, because he's not just imitating. It's like every time he talks, every gesture he makes, is with a mental image of Bale's Bateman in his head.

      i kind of like the fact that the lyrics are so dumb. it’s the writers letting the audiences know that they understood that the original content was satirical.

    he didnt do too bad at describing himself but he rushed through it. his demeanor and how he held himself was almost spot on. other than that this was a mistake.

  • @danielzutler5116
    @danielzutler5116 8 лет назад

    this just doesn't capture the dramatic intensity of the film or book. the opening monologue when he describing the morning routine is wrong. he speaks like he's speaking with colleagues when in the movie he's describing the mundane practices that he does just to feel like he's fitting in.

    • @kylecottrell9653

      @danielzutler5116 8 лет назад

      +Kyle Cottrell nah. I'm writing my own stuff. but anyway I don't know a lot about the theater side of the stage. I just know that this scene in general doesn't translate into another medium well for me. I know more about musical theater music than I thought I ever would. but do you think something like requiem for a dream would translate well? I think the wall would. I think black Swan should. but I'm gonna go see it and decide then.

    I like the songs--- but the actor playing Bateman isn't quite right and the staging is weird. Having a crowd of people dance around doesn't work with this story.

  • @michaelmcbride5012

    As far as trying to attract an audience, I'm not sure the show is shown to advantage in this clip. You have a cast that's up to snuff...and then some...but a rehearsal background that is decidedly not.

    The pedestrian style choreography used in this so called musical, and others like it (Ghost, Bare, and the Carrie revival) is in no way theatrical. The music is in no way dramatic. The direction doesn't invite any kind of character. This is not theater. It's not even a good music video. It's just ... not good.

    • @ellafried9626
      @ellafried9626 8 лет назад +5

      I feel like that's the point though. I was recently in a production of Carrie and the choreo was supposed to feel and look natural because we were all high school students. While choreography is definitely a crucial aspect of any musical, sometimes it is the right choice to go with something more natural and less rigid than strict choreography

    • @kylecottrell9653

    • @Mminn98
      @Mminn98 8 лет назад +2

      malepointe1 SO is a play not theatre because the movement is sometimes practical instead of choreographed??? Don't be ignorant, theatre comes in many forms. If every show was sung and danced like singin in the rain or anything goes or take your pick of another classic the community wouldn't be diverse

    • @firstnamelastname5331
      @firstnamelastname5331 7 лет назад

      Carrie and Bare had choreography to reflect the environment and the characters and situations. It was perfect for that show. I am not saying all Broadway shows should look like that, I'm just saying that every show has it's own style and that you shouldn't criticize artistic choices to make the show more interesting or different.

  • @munisohna

    Goodness. This is horrible. It might be fun, though. Maybe? No. But if I come across rush tix, I'd go. But hope is low. The movie wasn't even able to do much of the book and it kicked ass. This movie is gonna totally sanitize the book.
