@@yaibanojutsu Yes you can, ELITEBOOK 8440P has 2 slots max 4GB per Slot, so it can be: 2-0, 2-2, 2-4 or 4-4, I hope I helped, I was doing this same research some time ago.

i got the i5 version, managed to upgrade to 8gb of ddr3 ram, 256ssd and it runs a custom ISO of windows 11 24h2 by fbconan fantastically

Hello, I have the same laptop and I wanted to increase its RAM since it is only 2gb. I found a 4gb RAM from an old laptop but when I install it it does not start Windows 10 and the laptop goes into a permanent reboot loop, it is solved when I reinstall the factory RAM. The RAM I am trying to use is a RAMAXEL rmt3170eb68f9w-1600. Do you think I have a solution configuring from the BIOS or is it simply not a RAM compatible with this laptop?
I think the laptop supports ram of 1333 mhz frequency

@@randomworld_R The solution was that the RAM was not compatible, I only bought a larger capacity model, first of all I asked the seller if it was compatible with my laptop, I installed the new memory and that's it.
Watch out for the three small latches at the top of the keyboard that get pushed in about 1:22.
Actually FOUR small latches.
Yes, this video skips that important step. Luckily I did not damage keyboard before figuring out those 4 (I see 4) of those latches. The video here failed to cover that and cannot recommend this video..

@@nincsjonev my laptop has 2gb DDR3 ram on its first slot. & Having 2 slots of ram in overall. Should I put another 2 gb ram in second to boost dual channel performace. Or should I put 4 gb ram on second slot. Which would give me better performance?
@@dragonballthings688 you either should put another 2 gb on the second slot, or remove the 2gb card entirely, and install 2x4 gb instead.
