This is exactly what I’ve been looking for to test my beginner skills. I’m happy to report, I understood about 85% without the lesson, but now, I feel much more confident.
Two months ago, when I started this journey, I didn’t understand a word of the video. I felt kind of envious of those who commented that they understood it without subtitles, and it truly felt like an uphill battle to achieve that level. Today, I am happy to report that I have already finished the first chapter of the Genki textbook, come back here, and I can understand the whole thing without subtitles! I can even write everything in both hiragana and kanji! Progress is amazing. It doesn't seem like much, but when you compare your day 60 to day one, it feels like a remarkable transformation that I could hardly have imagined just two months ago!
This is exactly what I've been looking for to help me learn Japanese. I'm already learning, but without actually having a way to use what I learn I forget it easily.
I'm happy that I found this channel Duolingo is good for vocabulary and learning hiragana/katakana But here I see grammar and conversations in practice
I'm so glad you found this channel too! It’s like stumbling upon a hidden treasure chest of Japanese wisdom, right? Duolingo is awesome for the ABCs of Japanese, but this channel feels like you're getting front row seats to a family dinner in Japan - grammar, conversations, and all the fun mischief in between! We’re basically becoming grammar ninjas now! 😄 Keep watching, we’re on the path to mastering it all!
I'm so happy looking at everyone who understood everything without subtitles. The feeling when you're learning a new language and start to understand things without help is amazing! 😭❤️
So true! It’s so easy to follow, and the story is just too cute! 😊 Thank you so much for this! もっと短いストーリーを作ってください! 🙏 We need more adorable and simple stories like this! Keep them coming! 🌟
I haven’t started learning japanese but I watch a lot of Japanese media and anime to the point that I can understand what they were saying without subtitles, im honestly proud of myself
I'm feeling overwhelmed with studying Japanese grammar rules but understanding everything in this video without looking on the subtitles makes me feel more confident with my language journey as a beginner. ありがとうございます!お疲れ様でした!
This is so cute.. I actually understand the convo without the subtitles in this vid 🤣 I'm learning japanese for 5mos now.. My only problem is the kanji and some sentence structures..
Thank you for your comment! 😊 I wish you the best on your Japanese learning journey!🙏 I'll be creating more contents, and hope some contents will suit your Japanese level and help you a bit!
This was so great! Beginners need more videos like these and they are so hard to find! Your explanations were so helpful. Please continue to make more videos like this 😊
Thank you so much! 😊 I’m thrilled you found the video helpful! Beginners definitely deserve more fun, easy-to-understand content like this - and I’m on a mission to make it happen! 💪 Your support means the world, and I’ll keep the videos coming! Let’s keep learning together! 🎉
2 weeks into Japanese language and have been coming across many videos saying not to learn it or that is a waste of time. On the other hand I'm happy to find videos as helpful as this one, the editing and animation are great and the sound so clear, learning 3 languages at once and I'm having fun.
Who says it’s a waste of time? So sad. Learning any language is a great skill and resource it opens, your mind, heart and soul and brings you many opportunities and opens so many doors. Just don’t ever give up!
Wow, learning 3 languages at once? You're a language superhero! 🦸♂ Don’t listen to the naysayers - you're doing something amazing! Japanese is such a beautiful language, and finding videos like this one just proves that learning it can be fun and rewarding. The clear sound and awesome animations here really make it easier to grasp. Keep going, you’ve got this, and soon you'll be a multilingual master! 😄
Haha, that's amazing! 🎉 Who cares if it's baby level - you understood it all, and that’s what matters! 👏 Every step counts, and you’re crushing it! Keep going, and soon you'll be tackling the tough stuff like a pro! 😎
I'm a beginner in learning japanese, I still don't know how to read and write, but I'm quite surprised that I can understand it a little. Probably because I always watch anime so some of the words are familiar to me.
I love that you used kanji, I want to get comfortable and familiar with kanji as a beginner and don't want to be coddled by hiragana for the kanji so this is excellent! I love that you also provided English subtitles after the first initial listen. If English subtitles are given right away I feel like i dont get the chance to test my comprehension so I love the format you used!
Thank you so much for your comment and feedback!! I'm so glad to hear that you like the lesson format I use for my recent lesson videos! Thank you for watching! 😊
I saw this and decided to watch. I honestly didn't realise how much Japanese I'd learned until I watched this and understood everything. Thank you for this!
I'm so glad I found your content!! The explanations were incredibly clear and complete, and letting us watch the story first with no subtitles gave me such a rush when I was able to understand clearly what was happening on my own only to then learn even more nuanced I missed Incrdible material for beginners, keep it up!
lol honestly understanding everything without subtitles really makes me feel good lol, even if extremely basic and simplified, its a good feeling to understand a language that you are learning within some media.
I’ve been learning kanji and vocabulary for a while now, but I haven’t really felt like I’ve learned anything. Putting it in this context and explaining the situational differences really helped understand what I’ve been learning a lot better. I was able to follow almost everything without the subtitles, but with the kanji on screen to jog my memory it was very easy. Arigatou gozaimashita!
i’ve been learning japanese for over a year at school, and listening is the only thing i’m struggling with but this video was easy to understand without subtitles. please make more! ありがとうございます。
That's fantastic! 🎉 It’s awesome to hear that this video made listening practice easier for you, especially without subtitles! Listening can be tough, but you’re doing great - it sounds like you're really making progress! I’ll definitely keep making more videos like this. ありがとうございます for your support! Keep going, you're almost there! 😄

"Wow, this content is not just a language lesson-it's like having a fun conversation with your new Japanese family! 😄 The way you explain the differences between '母' and 'お母さん' (and the rest of the family crew) is like unwrapping little language gifts, one at a time. Plus, I gotta say, the storytelling keeps it entertaining-Tamao’s 'cool' dad twist? Classic! This practice is a perfect mix of learning and smiles. Keep up the amazing work-your content is the VIP pass to mastering Japanese!"
I’m learning japanese alone and it’s so hard to find motivation. I don’t understand your video ( I don’t finish yet) but I have hope that one day, I will speak, read and understand. It is my challenge for future years !
This was so good. As a beginner i understood everything being said and the explanation after was so useful and well explained. Please keep making more of these.
Saw a video in which different foreigners living in Japan gave advice on how to learn the language. Most of them said "Listen, even if you don't understand! For the first 3-4 months it'll just sound like gibberish but someday it'll click and you subconsciously learn more and more" xd So I came upon this video (and channel) 😬
This is absolutely perfect for beginnger listening practice! The pacing is easy enough to understand, but not TOO easy where it doesn't feel natural. It is not overwhelming and includes a lot of useful vocabulary with great explanations! This has made me more confident and excited to learn because I can see my progress. Thank you, and please continue to do more!
Thank you so much for your comment! 🙏I'm so happy to hear that the video made you feel more confident and excited learn! Thank you for putting the effort into learning Japanese! 😊

I know she was busy back in her youth with work till now, but she’s also wasting her time on not learning to improve. So thank you for this video, I hope she’ll watch some of the other video’s too tho
I love this! My only suggestion would be adding Japanese subtitles at the beginning for others like me who have hearing loss but still want to try their best! Thank you so much for this!!!
Thank you so much for your comment and feedback! I would be happy to add Japanese subtitles at the first part of the listening practice for you from the next lesson onward. I''ll add Japanese subtitles separately, so I need to ask you to turn on and choose Japanese subtitles at first to see them though.🙏 When I have time, I'll be also adding Japanese subtitles to the first part of other Japanese listening practice videos which were already uploaded! Thank you for informing me about it and putting the effort into learning Japanese! 😊

That’s a great suggestion - adding Japanese subtitles would definitely help viewers like you get even more out of the content. I'll keep it in mind for future videos! Thanks again for watching and sharing your thoughts - you're amazing for wanting to give it your best! 😄🙏
I'm proud of myself! I actually watched the entire thing without subtitles and understood everything that was said! With that said, thank you so much for creating this! One of the most difficult parts of learning japanese is the listening part. I also appreciate you breaking down the differences in when to use specific family honorifics. I've always heard all of them, but I didn't realize that there was a difference when you use specific ones. Keep up the good work. You have a subscriber now!
I’ve been learning for 5 days now and understood about 60 % of this. I’m proud. But years of watching anime definitely helped haha. I really love the animations, it’s very cute.
That's amazing progress for just 5 days of learning! 🎉 You should definitely be proud of yourself! And hey, all that anime watching is paying off! 😄 The cute animations really make it even more fun to learn, right? Keep going - you’re doing great, and soon that 60% will be 100%!

This is such a great beginner video. I loved the pace and all the explanations in between. I know conversation is where I struggle most with any language I learn. Thank you for this!

I was lierally translating it into English 😂. I'm glad i reached to this point!!! This is what i was looking for. Thanks a ton❤️❤️. You got a new subscriber.
For beginners I think using Hiragana and katakana is a good idea so we can practice and write it down before seeing the correction ! anyway I enjoyed this lesson ! thank you !
Thank you for your comment and advice! 🙏 Some of my lovely viewers also kindly advised me about that, so I already put Hiragana to all Kanji in my latest video! I appreciate your feedback! 😊
That’s awesome! 🎉 Understanding 95% without subtitles is a huge improvement! You’re making amazing progress, and it’s only going to get better from here. Keep it up, and soon you’ll be at 100%! 😄
