Received your cd Luna today. The recording of the organs are sublime. To the point where the bass notes vibrate a bookcase across my room. My old Kef speakers are getting a real workout. Thank you for such beautiful music.
I'm so glad to have seen you perform live at Ministry of Sound's Classical 2023 at the Royal Albert Hall on 16 September where, YOU BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN! Please keep on playing and filling our hearts with music and love, Ms. Lapwood!
I grew up in a steeltown in the UK 40 yrs ago. I played organ for ~5 years as a teenager and had an interest in Bach that no-one in my school shared. I stopped playing after my apprenticeship, but still loved the music and started playing guitar. A trip on my first motorbike had me stop off at Beverly Minster - one of the Monks played the chord progression from 'Slave to the rhythm' - Grace Jones. When I saw Anna and Bonobo it all came back - very emotional. Now this - utterly beautiful. Thanks so much>
This organ, in the chapel of the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, Suffolk, is amazing. With the risk of angering the British organ buffs, I'd say this is one of the finest organs of its kind in the UK. There aren't that many recordings, so it's nice to hear it again.
Listening to you play is one thing, but watching you with the emotion that you put into your playing, just adds more feeling to music. Watching you play always brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing your exceptional talent with us.
Hello 👋 I hope you're safe over there? I am Randy Scott by name from Cleveland Ohio the United state of America I hope this year brings prosperity happiness and love 💞 all over the world
Hello 👋 I hope you're safe over there? I am Randy Scott by name from Cleveland Ohio the United state of America I hope this year brings prosperity happiness and love 💞 all over the world
Clair de lune is my favourite tune but you have done something to me by playing it so well on an organ that has filled with with such great joy. Thank you.
Hello 👋 I hope you're safe over there? I am Randy Scott by name from Cleveland Ohio the United state of America I hope this year brings prosperity happiness and love 💞 all over the world
I had tears welled up in my eyes and goose bumps all over during your performance. Clair de Lune is one of my life-long favorites, and you played it with such feeling and artistry - thank you!! I'll be coming back to replay this often! I wish there was a more emphatic thumbs up I could give you! 😁😁😁
It is an absolutely lovely rendition of Clair De Lune. It would have been nice to see something about the organ in the notes, or did I miss it? Where it is. Who built it and when? Style, Ranks, stops, manuals, action (tracker, electric, electronic), Stop action as well? Nerd stuff like that. Depth of the pedal. It is obviously a large organ but how big? Reeds, mixtures. Great, Swell, Positif, Choir, Echo, Solo, Bombarde, Antiphonal, ...... I assume it is in the French Romantic style because it plays Debussy so very well. I could be very totally wrong. It might be a German beast behind the facade. I am sorry but I like some of the Nerd stuff. I am a long way overboard with my list and way over my head. I am not looking for the builder's specification sheet. But there is a level that is interesting to lots of people.
Hi Anna, just recently found your channel, its beautiful music to listen to, the various genera's that you play are awesome, thank you. i have a single question, this will show my naivety about organs, the fact that you happen to be lucky to play so many amazing organs, does the lag from key to the sound arriving vary from organ to organ. Tim
Hello 👋 I hope you're safe over there? I am Randy Scott by name from Cleveland Ohio the United state of America I hope this year brings prosperity happiness and love 💞 all over the world
this is my all time favourite piece of classical music, I just had to smile at your frown of concentration whilst playing , then the little smile of satisfaction at the end. Thank you Anna
Hello 👋 I hope you're safe over there? I am Randy Scott by name from Cleveland Ohio the United state of America I hope this year brings prosperity happiness and love 💞 all over the world
Holy smokes!! Just incredible!! A beautiful, iconic, and legendary tune raised to new soaring heights. What an amazing performance by such a wonderful artist. Bravissimo, Anna!!
Hello 👋 I hope you're safe over there? I am Randy Scott by name from Cleveland Ohio the United state of America I hope this year brings prosperity happiness and love 💞 all over the world
Hi Anna, Wow I'm so glad that I found you. I've never got lost in such moving Organ Music since my Beloved Uncle Peter passed, we have not got much recordings of his organ playing or Piano. Though we do have what his playing was like when he attended Cambridge, we have hand written comments from his time there. Thank you
I always wondering what an Angel look like playing a pipe organ, NOW i know what the Angel look like♥♥ You played Clair de Lune with such emotions, that's making the piece more vibrant. I loved it! (for the third time!) ♥
Loved this. For some reason I envision you doing a duet of songs with Rick Wakeman with possibly some other instruments and singers. Now that would be beautiful. Thanks from Canada!!!!
While on the piano this sounds like a clear and warm summer night, the organ, especially with the wood wind registers used (if I am not mistaken) invokes a cool, misty autumn night. What a wonderful change.
Hi Larry, You have disappointed many people by resuming your habit of belittling intellectually challenged people by referring to them as "Scooter." It's sad that you try to make yourself seem more important by belittling and making fun of innocent people. Sad. So sad.
The last time I heard this on the organ was when I owned an album by the Japanese artist isoa tomita 50 years ago. I lost the record but never lost my love of this piece on the organ thank you so much
Anna this whole album is so powerful and moving. Everything, every note, every stop has a purpose and a reason and you show this, you need to know your instruments back to front and you certainly know these!
Beautifully played but I may have to listen a few more times to get to like it. Whilst the organ has a depth to its tone, it is lacking the percussive attack of the piano in the lead.
Organ newb here! Could anyone tell me if its possible for the organ to create a higher transient or clicking sound at the beginning of each played note? Thanks so much to Anna for here gorgeous uploads. I love her performances. ❤
On some organs, you do get a mechanical "clack" as the valves open, especially on quieter pieces. As I understand it, some use electronically actuated valves, which are quieter and I presume more responsive.
I received your Luna CD yesterday and was astounded by the delicate atmosphere you have created on this album. Yes, there are some loud sections too which are wonderful , but closing my eyes and listening to your virtuoso playing was so uplifting that the louder parts were still relaxing. The compilation ( track to track choices) of the album is perfect. A superb album. Congratulations, Anna and wishing you every success with it.
Interesting! While the basses bring a nice depth to the piece, as only an organ can, unfortunately at the same time the higher tones that provide lightness are accumulated into a mash of sounds that is difficult to differentiate. Interessant! Während die Bässe eine schöne Tiefe in das Stück bringen, wie es nur eine Orgel kann, werden leider gleichzeitig die Leichtigkeit verleihenden höheren Töne zu einem schwer zu differenzierenden Soundbrei akkumuliert.
Dear Anna. We lost my most favourite musician this year, Ryuichi Sakamoto-san. His work was Inspired heavily by his own hero, Debussy. Please would you consider interpreting one of Ryuichi's most famous pieces, either A Thousands Knives or The Last Emperor? P.s I have the biggest crush on you. Your beauty knows no bounds. There, I said it. If you can't say it at Christmas, when can you?
As a kid my dad (classically trained) often played this on the house piano, he doesn't talk much. We had a family tragedy just before my birth (40+ yrs ago) where MY DAD'S little sister died, i honestly wonder if it's related. I love this song, but it always seems ... coded with paths to further musical landscapes - that i'm somehow not allowed to hear. It's like a gateway, to a wonderful world, yet forbidden. Coz it was to be hers? I dunno psych is weird yo. You hear a lot of ~2:32 influenced by this in things Danny Elfman has written in movies _(Edward Scissorhands etc),_ so hey i guess it's not that bizarre to be influenced by this. And to me it's always seemed like a glimpse through the portal of what was & would have been. Who were you, Jane. Is this the sound
I hear a bit of distortion. Probably from the ridiculous choice of mike stands bombarded by sound waves. Suspended would have been better. So would fewer mikes! Your part on the other hand is amazing!
That's a beautiful, tasteful (no roaring reeds!) rendition of this wonderful piece that works splendidly on organ. Could you give some details of the organ please? Thanks.

Never too late to pick up organ playing again :-) Most places there's a shortage of organ players and those things need a regular workout!
Truly a brilliant mind. Thank you for sharing your incredible gift with the world. 🥰🥰

Clair de Lune works so well on the organ.
This takes me back to the 70s and Tomita on all those early synthesisers. Beautiful.
Tomita was so wonderful. RIP

One of my favorites. Hauntingly beautiful in the pipe organ. Miss Lapwood, you are a gift, thank you for sharing your talents on the internet.
Well deserved MBE 😮 Congratulations !!
Just saw you on BBC Breakfast this morning. 😊
I love this piece, just chill, breath, relax and feel the energy passing through you. Wonderful.

First time ever hearing Clair de Lune played on an organ. Worth listening👏👏👏
Me too! Excellent.
Virgil Fox played it.

Jane, tears indeed! Anna's playing just touches your heart in the most profound way. ❤❤❤
This was my father's favorite piece of music.
Enchanting, amazing new take on a classic.
Reverie is another Debussy favourite that deserves to have that fresh take (for your next album!)
I sit listening, quietly sobbing as my eyes fill with tears and my heart fills with hope & joy. Thank you Anna.
I remember listening to Tomita in the 70s play this on synthesisers. It blew me away then and still does.
Me also . Still one of my favourite LPs

WOW! As I was listening, I was so overwhelmed that I stopped breathing. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful song! Hate the 3 second cut away format of video!
This was the first classical piece that I introduced to my late wife before we married. It became "our tune". Your presentation made me cry. Loved it!

Such pure warm music, could listen forever
Salem from Kazakhstan 🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿. Amazing! ❤️👏👏👏Good luck.
Absolutely wonderful ! I think music, especially like this, is a narrative. Beginning, stress, conflict, achievement and resolution.
this is my all time favourite piece of classical music, I just had to smile at your frown of concentration whilst playing , then the little smile of satisfaction at the end. Thank you Anna
So musical-lovely orchestration-a joy to hear and watch ❤
I almost stood up to give a standing ovation. 👏👏👏
One of my favorites and you performed it beautifully!! Thank you!
Next time Ocean 11 will be stealing from a Philharmonic Orchestra I expect this at the end of a movie ;)
Wonderful! Thank you so mutch Anna! And your lil smile at the end make this music perfect!

You play wonderfully.
Lovely and superb…thank you so much for sharing your music! ❤

Beautiful rhythm! I'm speechless 🥲
Diante de tanta Beleza o que pode meu coração dizer, maravilha, fantástico, sublime, Bravíssimo!!!!!!
I'd like to coin 2:20: "goose bump city!". :D My hairs raised there. Thanks for the wonderful music !
Absolutely wonderful! I'll dig out the music and try that later this evening!
Our mother, also an organist, played this on our piano at home. Thank you for this beautiful memory. ❤️

Whatever happens the girl playing, I think her name is Anna Lapwood. I think she is unreservedly the best musician I’ve ever met.❤
Riveting and stunning. Superb registration and finding the romantic voice of the instrument. As an organ lover, best Claire de lune I have ever heard.
Wow!
Anna Lapwood plays Dvorak "New World Symphony" on Organ!! I can dream can't I?
Jonathan Scott surely has the music available.

Oh wow this is do made for organ 😮😊 fantastic registration! Great performance!
Absolutely Beautiful!!! Received shipping confirmation and will be receiving Luna very soon. Looking forward to many hours of beautiful organ music.

what a brilliant idea of this Debussy on the organ, soft like the moon!
Goosebumps and tears in my eyes! Greetings from Holland.
Unerwartet schön! ❤

I wish the recording were more professional so I can hear the bass from the pedals but you play it absolutely wonderful❤

Yes! Yes! Yes! Bravo! 🎉
"Love Theme" of Romeo and Juliet by Nino Rota would sound absurdly divine in an organ
If you take requests, could you play and record Little Fugue in G minor?
This is a big, comfy, cosy, huge mug of cocoa hug of music. Beautiful.
On the organ it becomes three-dimensional...
Beautifully played.
I know it’s “Moonlight” but this sounds to me like light shining through water onto the sea floor 🌊
Anna this beautiful, loved it!! Love hearing you play
Hi @Anna lapwood how about doing the song entering of the goods in to valhalla ?`
Stunning. Beautiful. And the music is sublime as well ;-)

Absolutelybb beautiful and superbly played
Applause ❤ Loved the little smile at the end 🙂
Amazing performance as always, Anna!
This is wonderful music. Thank you
Love your music, especially the movie pieces. I have a request. Could you please play 'On the nature of daylight'? From the 'Arrival' soundtrack.
