An accomplished songwriter in his element. A wonderful melody.
i bought this album, after listening to the other side, and gave it to my dad just after my mum died.He didnt think i had very good taste in music, till he heard it, and its very good he said with tears in his eyes.Hes gone now, but i still have the album, which now brings tears to my eyes.Thank you David...
Beautiful, God rest their souls.
Mrslick. Brilliant album my friend. New day at midnight. I have the album also the one before it white ladder album.
When this came out I was at a very low point. Let's be honest this isn't the most uplifting album but somehow listening to it pulled me through. So yeah....thank you David. Hope ya good now too Slicky.
@@hopebgood if you listened to it and pulled through it's an uplifting album.
THE KILLERS IN JULY. AN ARMAGEDDON SKY. SELL IT LIKE IT IS!
I cannot, for the life of me, understand why this has no more likes than it does...
Me neither Julie B I love this song its possibly my favourite track.
I agree with you Julie! It's massively underrated! I Love this song especially! It's without doubt his best song ever! And also in my top 50 favourite ever songs!
I went to see him live at Brixton Academy back in the early 2000's It was all a bit chaotic & last minute! I hadn't planned to go in the first place, but my person who had booked to go with my mate dropped out at the last minute! We only live half an hour from London so we jumped on the train and tube and it actually turned out to be a good night!
This track in particular though 👌awesome! Great musically! Lyrically.... Genius! 👍💯✔
@@Stevo736 I am so glad I am not alone on this! Thanks for the reply Stevo!
@@robertdavis2194 Ah - I love finding others who get me on this! And, what a great experience to have seen him play this live. I saw him well before this was released, sadly, in the 90's but - it was an incredible experience all the same. It was a small venue with a not-too-packed turnout so, for me, this was heaven. The entire show was great. Thank you for the reply ~ now I am on a DG listening binge and that is a beautiful thing indeed :-)
V welcome Julie B I'm sure we are not really alone really it's a great track.
david gray is a genius
No question. Songwriting master. Up there with Dylan, Springsteen, Gordon Lightfoot ..
What about From Here You Can Almost See The Sea, eh?
A teacher at school introduced me to David gray he would have it on in the back ground in his room between classes. This must be around 1999 or so, I was about 15. Loved that album and was hooked since. His really early stuff is very different, I was gifted the album in my 20s and his Welsh Accent a lot stronger. His album a century ends and his song birds without wings especially. Such an under appreciated artist
I'm only sixteen and I've been only listening to David Gray's songs and they're calming and I feel either relaxed or feel like dancing. He's a Legendary singer.
You have good taste Pepsi cola ! x
Thanks. You too! I'm 18, almost 19 now and I have his best of album. Still my favorite singer.
I’m 16 right now nearly 17. Love David gray 🙌
One of my favorites from early 2000s.
Id forgotten how much i love this album. Amazing.
Just was introduced to David G's songs., within the last week. I am crazy about his music. David being adorable, makes the experience even sweeter.. Love how he dances with his head. I am obsessed!! Come to Philadelphia, Pa USA Can't wait to see you live!!
you're life is complete now lol. and yes you must see him live at once! it is one of the most emotional experiences you will ever have.
Not listened to this and the white ladder album for ages. Both still brilliant.
This song ❤️❤️🔥💯
Growing on me! :)
What a tune.
Probably his best
Where Did This Go ?! Disappeared without Trace !
People stand in line
People stand in line
People stand in line
A premonition of
The killers angel eyes
An Armageddon sky
Tell it like it is
It's like the old man says
We're dead in the water now
Dead in the water.
They come from miles around
They come from miles around
They come from miles around
In avarice and love
To suckle on the blood
Of some forgotten God
Sell it like it is
It's like the old man says
We're dead in the water now
We're dead in the water now
Dead in the water.
A simple act of faith
A simple act of faith
A simple act of faith
A celebration of
The color and the creed
The cancer and its seed
Crackles on the mic
Call it what you like
We're dead in the water now
We're dead in the water now
Dead in the water.
Brilliant lyrics!
I like that David gives a damn.
Sorrow never sounded so good.
How is this song not more popular? It's one of the best pop songs of the early 2000s.
Beautiful song love it. Thanks for writing it mate 👍
Great track
Ingenius songwriter. Plain and simple. The likes of Dylan, Gordon Lighfoot, Neil Young, Paul Simon..
True, sadly he will never get the same recognition.
His best album..
Brilliant Brilliant track
On Monday my shift at work switches to a 2 am start time, and I'm going to start getting up at midnight. Thought of the album title, and now I'm here. Haven't heard these songs for awhile
I've not listened to this stuff for years too. This album got me thru a bad time. Have a great Xmas mate
You are a true master sir, Brilliant, Genius, Genius
White Ladder was over-rated this is DG's best album. So Melodic and Atmospheric. Great to listen properly or just in the background last at night by faded light.
Agreed
White Ladder was my first DG CD and then this one--by then I was hooked..at least 10 CD'sD still love his music.
Это офигенная тема +++

Would make a great Bond theme..
Great minds. Always thought this.
Couldn't this track been an amazing James Bond theme song?
Honestly said this when first released. Drunk now... Posted and reviewed other comments... Not the only one thought the same,! Derr regards!
God, I wish DG would come to US Bank stadium!!!!!!

The words
People stand in line

Love Mr Bobble Head 👍🏻
This used to be my shaving song. What? You haven't got a shaving song? Do you just stand there?
+Ian Brooks I don't shave Ian. Its a waste of resources.
Good stuff
I have a shower song. Its basically the song hammer time, but replaced as 'shower time'
Call it what you like were dead in the water
Naughty,but nice,no cakes allowed
20 are dead in the water.
He'd seen it..
Sounds like something off a James Bond film. Can't think of which one though...
Nonafanny?
Listen to" The man I love dual sessions" that reminds me of this song even though its nothing like it?
